I am an indigent and disabled person. Due to my disability I receive SSI since.
Due to the fact that I had a large amount of Chicago Parking Tickets and other debts, I went to Robert J Adams & Associates to file a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.
I made an initial payment of $450 out of my SSI benefits check and agreed to pay $75.00 on the 15th of every month. Communication with the attorneys and other personnel was very poor.
Whenever I called Robert J Adams & Associates, I would get the receptionist and she would always transfer me to the Attorney's voicemails. Only numerous occasions the Attorneys

BEWARE. They will take your money. They lie to you. When asked how long the consultation was going to take I was told an hour and that it was free. The receptionist said 10 mins. Attorney said an hour. I was told that they would not proceed with the case until I paid the $400 in full. So I made a $200 deposit. Something unexpected happened and I do not have to file BK. I called to get my money back and some woman told me that they were working on the case BS! You told me that you wouldn't proceed until I paid you in full. So they refused to give me my money back. The attorneys are very knowledgeable. It is not always easy to reach them. At time I've emailed and called before I could get a response. By far some of the poorest service I've received ever. Once your case if filed it's almost impossible for you to get any type of help or service from them unless it's the bare minimum of showing up on a court date. I've been trying to reach my attorney for a week with no return phone call and I have A very important change to my situation and this isn't the first time they've been unresponsive. If you're new to this Do yourself a favor and get an attorney who actually cares and doesn't want to file your case and never talk to you again.
