Rich Kuk, managing partner & head sushi chef, has been with SakiTumi since 2010. His fine detail on food preparation, ordering and sushi skills are nothing short of amazing. Bobby Wessinger is our grill chef, and creates some wonderful specials and ensures the constant quality of food coming out of the kitchen.

Timothy Wimbly is our Sunday brunch chef, and all 3 of these talented individuals work together to help us put out some amazing food every day we're open. Saki is a fusion restaurant so half of our menu contains amazing, flavorful grill items. Try our famous Kobe burger, our Saki-Salmon, Lobster Wontons and more.
Services
SakiTumi decided to do a collaboration with some of the great staff members of the former Cafe 116 (one of Columbia's favorite brunch spots) back in May of 2019. We've tweaked our menu and staff a little but now, with the help of Chef Timothy Wimbly, we present a very creative and delicious menu every Sunday from 10am-2pm.
Enjoy $5 classic sushi rolls from 5-7pm along with $2 domestic beers and $4 glasses of wine. Every Wednesday, we choose 2 of our most popular specialty sushi rolls and offer them at HALF-PRICE! Best deal in Columbia! Our happy hour special of $5 classic rolls, $2 domestic beers and $4 glasses of wine runs from 5-7pm and we'll have $3 pints from open til c.
Layne graduated from USC with an undergrad in painting/art in 2017, and we are proud to have her back a second time for our Art Uncorked event! Most of her work is largely influenced by color, and she has a fluid and recognizable style that leans toward abstract expressionism. ART (uncorked) features work from some of the best local up-and-coming artists in Columbia.
We have been offering our sushi classes for over 7 years now, and they have been a huge success. We are one of the only restaurants in the area offering classes of this type, and the best part about it is you contact us and choose the date/time you want to book the class.* SakiTumi usually books sushi classes Wednesday through Friday, anytime between 5pm-6:30pm.

Service 1/10
Food 1/10
Drinks 8/10
First of all it was a hassle to get the server Parker to come to our table. We kept getting told we’re short staffed which is understandable but then he gets on his phone while we go to the bar for waters. Then ordering drinks and food was a struggle to do at once, I don’t recommend brunch here.
Also the parties that came in after us had to flag down servers to seat them, it just seems that they were not prepared to serve today. Basically do not come here if you want great service, great food, and don’t come here if you value your time.

I usually love this place and never leave reviews, but it was super disappointing tonight. My fiancé ordered our food to go for my birthday and he sat at the bar while waiting for it. It didn’t take long at all, but when he brought it home it was not edible. Tasted like an entire large bottle of salt had been poured into the hibachi.

For a 100$ it wasn't really all that great. It was pretty disappointing. The food was bland. The only thing, the place had going for it was the Lobster Wontons tonight. I just feel the food could have been better by a lot. There was at least two other customer tables that we witnessed complain about their food not being worth it either. The place seemed promising, but honestly, it's hard to find good Asian restaurants. A lot of places just can't hit that authenticity anymore. Might come back one day, but right now is not that time any time soon.

This is only the second time I have been to this establishment. The building itself is very unique and rustic looking. The service was great, and the waitress very attentive and knowledgeable. The only reason this place does not get 5 stars is due to the small selection of sushi rolls. I do believe this is why I had only been here once before. As for the food we ordered, it was fresh and tasty. No complaints overall, just wish the sushi selection was larger.

Trendy cute restaurant tucked in an alley - love the entrance! Drinks were amazing, wait staff extremely friendly, and the food was exceptional.

I had the chicken and waffles along with my friend. We both thought the waffles tasted like the ones you buy in a package and warm up. Then served with chicken nuggets.
The server seemed overwhelmed with the brunch demands. I had to go up to the bar order a second Bloody Mary.
Overall not impressed

Went in early evening this past Saturday and dined at the bar. Service and food were amazing. That blueberry mojito hit the spot on a hot summer evening! The owner was there and was very friendly as well.

We came to ball out. Got the sushi sliders and they were amazing. Got 3 rolls (Raptor, Samurai, King Kong), and we loved them all. We were in and out within an hour. The spicy Mayo sauce is my favorite. We’ll be back regularly.

More $$$ prices than $$, especially with the portion size but this is Downtown Columbia. Service was great and fast. The Lobster Wontons were great. Everything else we ate was OK; not really worth the price though. Our sushi rolls were loose, shrimp slightly over cooked and lacking flavor other than char grilled. My Blueberry Mojito was more soda water and lime. I prefer TakoSushi.

First time here from out of town. First we had trouble finding it according to Google directions.
Luckily we went at a time when business was slow. I couldn't imagine what parking would be like if it was busy.
The atmosphere is pretty cool, kind of retro.
Food was ok. We ordered some Poke Bowles, not much to brag about. Expected a little more in it. If you want sushi, expect to pay inflated prices. The staff were average, wouldn't think I would never get a refill of water with the limited customers, but we did. None of us were ever offered a refill.
To me this is a date place or business dinner
