If you have found this website, it is likely you have suffered a work injury and have now learned how difficult the workers' compensation process can be for federal employees. If you need help, feel free to call me to discuss your situation: (215) 545-2132. For 25+ years, I have been an advocate for injured federal workers.
My constant and sometimes frustrating dealings with the OWCP are the inspiration behind my blog. Read it to keep up to date about important issues affecting your benefits. When the Federal Workers' Compensation program was created in 1916, you may not have needed a lawyer. However, the way the program is administered today causes many workers to be denied benefits to which they are entitled.

Services
I represent injured federal employees throughout the US and overseas with their federal workers' compensation claims. My clients include federal air marshals, USPS letter carriers, DEA agents and more. I have more than 25 years of experience in this area and have advised over 19,000 injured workers.
If your work injury has had a permanent effect on one of various "rateable" body parts, you may be entitled to an impairment rating, also known as a schedule award. You are compensated for the loss of use of that body part. You must be alive to claim a schedule award; otherwise there is no time limitation.
Always keep a copy of what you submit, and make sure you have proof that you submitted the form. Complete the employee portion of the form and turn it in to your supervisor no later than 30 days following an injury. Make sure you get a "receipt of notice" from your supervisor. Be aware that workers are sometimes told to file recurrence claims when they should be filing new injury claims.

Mr. Zeelander is as honest and professional as they come. I have dealt with attorneys over the yrs and often find that they are willing to take my case, yet fail to be honest about the possible outcomes. It was a relief to speak with someone who shot me straight for once. He didn’t sugar-coat anything. His knowledge and prior experience dealing my GOV workers comp case has so far been invaluable. I will definitely request his assistance again!

I spoke to Mr. Zeelander and within first 2 min, I was able to tell he knew exactly what I was dealing with. Very knowledgeable and professional. I am dealing with my first Workers Comp case and he was able to answer my concerns and questions that honestly unless you have had the exposure with before, it would be hard to understand. Overall very pleased with Mr. Zeelander. I look forward to working with him.

This attorney doesn't give a crap about injured federal workers. I contacted his office last week. When he finally called back he talked over my and would not listen to the facts regarding my case. Finally he said that I could retain his services for $6500 and $450 and hour. This guy lives in Philadelphia and no doubt has a nice house and drives a high dollar car. He is just in it for the money.

I was well treated at practice inside a hospital but after the doctors moved out of the hospital the doctor told me she had been trying for six months but
Workers Comp would no longer agree to pay for my care, she did not know why. She told me I should contact Workers Comp myself because her staff was unable, maybe my case was closed. When I phoned Workers Comp I was told to submit forms. After I submitted the forms I waited but got no response. When I called again I was told the responsible person decided to not review my case and there was nothing I could do. This seemed unfair so I phoned Mr

I received a call from Mr. Zealanders yesterday, which I wasn't expecting it to be so soon! We had an extensive conversation to which his knowledge of the topic, was IMPRESSIVE. He explained what needed to be done and I am grateful.
I highly highly recommend this gentleman! I received a FREE consultation and what I am most impressed by, is that not once did he mention "hire me". He told me what I needed to hear, said that was all he could do for me.

Atty Zeelander is a great attorney. I was a postal employee who had been hurt and could no longer work. He not only represented me in a disability retirement case, he also told me about cash awards that I was entitled to for my injuries. This was something the postal service neglected to share with me for obvious reasons. I wasn't able to pay his retainer for the disability case as I was not working. He was kind enough to work something out with me. Not only did he get my disability retirement approved, but he has also gotten me money for my injuries. I couldn't be more grateful and would recommend

His friendship , courtesy ,knowledge are so important to me not only when he was representing me but I could call him 15 years later and he was still willing to help me. If you want a great, honest attorney, please call Mr. Jeffrey Zeelander. He is not like other attorney's, he will take the time out to help you and he really cares, he treats you like family.

Spoke to Jeff yesterday about possibly representing me. Not to discount other's experience but I don't think Jeff is rude, he's just loud. He didn't end up taking my case as I am overseas. But he did explain why it's difficult for him and told me to get a copy of my own record to begin the process. I feel he's genuine. Better have an admin or assistant in communicating with clients and care for minor misc. stuff. This should take care of the negative communications and he may have more time & patience listening to callers. I'd recommend accepting his communication style and give him a call.

I called Mr. Zeelander yesterday in order to garner some information on OWCP policies. First of all, he was extremely responsive in contacting me after my initial request and his knowledge on the subject was impressive. He took a considerable amount of time to fully explain things to me. My entire interaction with him was professional and personable. Hopefully my situation will not require his services but if I do need a lawyer; I will hire him without hesitation.

I cannot thank Mr. Zeelander enough for the work he did on my behalf. I endured 8 incredibly frustrating years navigating the endless OWCP claim reconsideration process, with denial after denial. Mr Zeelander got me a favorable decision within months, while keeping me informed on the progress. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable and responsive, he became a friend during the time he's worked with me. I will not hesitate for a second to call on him if I ever need assistance again. I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!

Mr. Zeelander has been THEE BEST option, by far, during my very difficult journey to get in communication with a federal worker’s compensation attorney! He’s very knowledgeable, patient, respectful and direct. I have been beyond overwhelmed and feeling defeated regarding my particular case due to a lack of resources that includes having the necessary guidance and information to achieve results. After getting into contact with Mr. Zeelander, I did not feel that I was being taken advantage of, as I have felt with other attorneys in the past, nor being ignored. I felt that I finally have an advocate

As an injured postal worker it is hard to find a lawyer who will help you and be concerned that you get the very best advice available as Mr Jeffery Zeelander does. Handling government cases pay very little and the abuse the client and lawyers get just trying to resolve the matter is beyond anyone imagination unless they have to go through it. I would recommend my postal injured brothers at large to call Jeffery if they can't find a lawyer to read their medical award decisions dictated to them. He was a great help to me every step of the way.
