I really like living here..the amenities are really good and are well taken care of by a really good staff... Lucy is so diligent, and so sweet in saying hello to my dog, Ziggy, each time we see her.
The only thing I wish would be better is reduced crime in Oakland. While I have not had a direct experience with it..it does have a halo effect on my experience

I absolutely enjoy living here in the Uptown Apartments. The property and the amenities are all nice. Maintenance does an excellent job maintaining the buildings and surrounding areas in this community. The office staff and the security manager has always been polite, helpful and patient, whenever, I've had questions or concerns. Thank you Jasmine for all your help. Karen Matlock, thank you for working with me on the application for my new unit, you were very patient throughout the entire process.

The manager Patty Gaines does not respect people of color. I was sitting in my lobby with my 19 month old and my 6 month old. She did not agree with signs that I had that said PROTECT BLACK WOMEN and KNOW THEIR NAMES which had 9 black people who had been slain by the police. She then calls the police and not only describes me but describes my children to the police, all for the police to say I did nothing wrong. She also attempted to use my lease to bully me and record me because she was uncomfortable with my message. I hope she took that as a learning experience because I am still in shock.

I’ve lived in the uptown for almost a year now and this complex provides the best value for the price in heart of downtown Oakland. Great amenities including a gym, pool, and hot tub. Units are way more spacious than other complexes as well.
I recently signed a lease for another year here, and Mary made this process very seamless and easy for me. She took time to understand what my requirements and priorities were for the search and when I finally found my perfect unit, she moved very quickly in helping me lock it down. Definitely the best experience I’ve ever had with a leasing agent!

I taught yoga here for two spring sessions and they were lovely experiences. The facilities are excellent, clean and airy with great light. Especially the common kitchen area off the swimming pool!
The residents were also lovely and friendly and worked very well together. Even the kids who took my classes with their parents were focused and dedicated- and well behaved!
The front desk person was always friendly, welcoming and helpful.
And I look forward to teaching here again.
