Henry's Restaurant in Kill Devil Hills is proud to be a family-run business. We (Henry and Linda Ezzell along with our daughter, Kim Ezzell Parker) opened the restaurant in 1989 after 11 years of operating the food service at Duck Woods Country Club.

Staff was terrific and patient and accommodating. I have a very picky kid and didn't feel as if they had anything on the menu that he would like. we asked our server and she found something off the menu that allowed our child to eat with the rest of us. the food was amazing as well. environment was pleasant with a great view of the ocean.

Really enjoyed this place! Our server was attentive and very nice. I have a gluten allergy and asked about the substituting the gluten free toast for the French toast and she knew immediately that they could, but there would be cross contamination. I appreciate this so much because going out to new restaurants with a gluten allergy is a little concerning, but she made me feel good with what I ultimately decided on. The drinks and food were spot on! Next time we’re back in town, we are definitely stopping here!

Underwhelming to say the least. Hostess was rude and demanding (attitude matched that of an owner on a power trip). Food was okay. Not great. Rest of staff were nice but not overly excited or seemed happy. Maybe due to the off season? Not sure but won't come back during this trip. Maybe not the next.

We were interested in a nice dinner with good food, but were disappointed. My wife ordered the prime rib thinking you really can't go wrong with that. Sadly the meat was tough and grisly. My wife couldn't cut it, I had to. The flavor leaned more to a liver taste. When I complained to the waitress, she just walked away (yes, I was being pleasant). My popcorn shrimp and clam strips were okay. The sides were okay as well. They promote their breakfast, so maybe that's what they're good at.

The catfish here is amazing. Highly suggest if you plan on all-you-can- eat option, not to start with the catfish first. 3 large pieces on the plate. Start with another option & then fish comes out 1 piece at a time. Popcorn shrimp perfectly cooked & tasty. One order of clam strips overdone but the rest were great. Steamed shrimp also done to perfection. Buffalo shrimp (6) was excellent, oyster appetizer (8) really good, full plate of refried pickles were good, onion rings were crispy & tasty. Place was clean, service was prompt & pleasant. We will return!

I ordered the nor’easter and it came with a very small amount of gravy. Requested more gravy since the biscuit was so dry then the waitress brought me a tiny bowl of gravy. Got the Bill and they charged me… almost $4 for it. So I paid $15 for a meal that was below par. As a local resident, we will be taking our business elsewhere.

This popular dining spot always has a crowded parking lot. Today we had an opportunity to check out the hype. Checking in and getting a text when our table was ready seemed easy.
Once we walked into the restaurant we were instantly transported back to the 70's. The menu had a large breakfast, lunch and dinner selection. It's nice to have a local place serving all the comforts of home.
Our dining party ordered a variety of fried seafood, steaks and pork. We also ordered some wine and appetizers. The crabbed stuffed mushrooms were delicious, plenty of crabmeat. The fried pickles flash

Found Henry's for lunch at the Outer Banks and got the feel it was the kind of place that locals visit year round. The menu ranged from sea food to breakfast fare and lots in between. Food was good as was the service. Most OBX restaurants seem to be short of help this year but I got the feeling Henry's staff was experienced and loyal. Worth a stop.

Prices were reasonable but the food was sub par. Maybe dinner and lunch are better?
Our potatoes were over burnt. The kind of potatoes that you have to pick through so you don't chip a tooth. Of course that mixed in with new potatoes just makes a terrible combo. Just throw away the pototes that have been on the grill since you opened. Don't mix them with fresh ones.
The omelette was ok. There were very large, but it was just thin egg with no ingredients. I would complain about the portion size of the pototes if they were any good.
My kids got popcorn shrimp and they loved it!

In my first review I said, "we really want to check out a number of places to eat in the area, but it's so hard when we started with Henry's and they set the bar so high!" and I guess I meant it, because when we went to select lunch the next day none of the other menus we checked out sized up to the appeal of ordering from Henry's again.
We figured we knew the quality was amazing, the prices couldn't be beat, and the staff were super friendly during our pick up experience.

Came here for breakfast on a Tuesday morning around 8:30am. There was a 15 minute wait but we were actually seated pretty quickly. Staff was friendly and greeted us immediately. They serve breakfast till 1pm and lunch starts at 11am. They serve alcohol which is nice if you enjoy a Bloody Mary or Mimosa along with breakfast. I ordered the biscuit w/ sausage gravy and a side of the corn beef hash, my boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs served with hashbrown however the hashbrown are cooked with onions and when asked if we could have them without onions we were told they are already cooked with

We were vacationing OBX last week. Great place for breakfast. French toast was delicious and so was the cheese and bacon omelet. Some of the best seasoned home fries I've ever had too. My wife made her own strawberry shortcake with the biscuits, strawberries and whipped cream. Defintely would go again.

Googled good places to eat and this popped up. So happy we tried it. The food was quick and perfectly prepared. Service was wonderful. Absolutely great.
Ordered the pick two for lunch. I ordered fried crab cakes and scallops, boyfriend got the fried trout and popcorn shrimp. Excellent meal that left you completely stuffed.
I would definitely recommend this place for families or if you're just looking for a quick and delicious bite.
