JK's serves only the finest, freshly harvested meats. Our flavorful choice meats are aged in-house for over 30 days and cut by our own "In-House" butcher. JK's beef and signature ribs come exclusively from the Midwest, providing the restaurant with a product that has superior marbling, tenderness, and flavor without artificial stimulants.
Leaving for meatier, delicious cuts of meat that will soon be your favorite. That is, if it isn't already. Our seafood comes fresh off the docks from friends and chicken is raised - free range. Your meal will be cooked over a one of a kind, cast iron wood-fired mesquite grill. We believe you'll find the flavors exceptional and our reviews reflect the quality in each meal we serve.

Services
Long before the Outer Banks grew into the year-round coastal community it is today, JK's Restaurant opened quietly in 1984 and rocked the seasonal dining available from the spring to late fall by offering a fine raw product, introducing live wood-fired grills and laying claim to its local audience by staying open year-round.
South Carolina Quail - Mesquite grilled quail served over mixed greens with Roquefort vinaigrette. Baked Oysters Rockefeller - On the half-shell topped with spinach walnut pesto & Parmesan cheese. Tobacco Shrimp - Dredged in tobacco flour and lightly fried served with creamy lemon dill sauce. Spinach and Fried Oyster Salad - Fresh spinach tossed in balsamic vinaigrette garnished with fried oysters topped with a lemon dill sauce.

Fabulous experience love the quaint local vibe of this restaurant very intimate and inviting! Definitely try the seafood bisque I did and it was succulent and savory as advertised by our very helpful waiter! I'd give the wait staff 10 stars if they'd let me but I can only make that comment here oh well c'est la vie!

JK's is by far the BEST restaurant on the beach, they hosted our Christmas party and it was the best party we had ever had, Food was off the chart from beginning to end, our waitress and staff were phenomenal. And John the owner is an awesome person. He personally checked on us several times during our party to make sure we were satisfied, then after dinner we hung out at the bar and the bar staff was awesome as well. Highly recommended and we will be back!

JKs was a nice treat, a birthday dinner for 3 was close to $185 before tip.. which tip was 25% .. the server Mark was great, and I was happy as a immune compromised customer to be in a private booth, 2 apps. 3 dinners and dessert was nice.. I would recommend the Creme Brule " delicious.. it has been since before Covid that I have dined here. Nothing to say bad of our service , Mark was checking on us ...and though I know he was busy with other tables he was making sure our teas were full and everything came out promptly, my petite Filet was good (but cut into it to be sure it's cooked the way you

Heard great things about this restaurant from locals so my family and I decided to come for my sisters birthday. The staff is friendly and accommodating and always made sure we were taken care of. Our appetizers were fantastic. I loved my quail, my mom and dad really enjoyed their clam chowder and seafood bisque, and my sister and her friend really liked their Caesar salads. The main courses where great as well. I got the JK special my steak was tender and flavorful and the shrimp was delicious, my mom loved her salmon. My dad and sister loved the flavors of their cowboy and strip steaks. My sister

Outstanding food and service. One of my favorite restaurants, you cannot beat the delicious steaks and wonderful sides. My filet was served exactly to my request, as was my husbands steak. Wonderful cocktails and a wine list to compliment the dishes round out a perfect evening out. Done here with confidence. You will not be disappointed.

We've been coming to the Outer Banks for years. JK's never ceases to be amazing. They have Fantastic people, great service, perfect food. As usual everything was out of this world delicious. Wife had the fillet, buddy had the fried tilefish. The rest of us all got the Friday only special of Twice grilled Prime Rib. You can't go wrong. Sad that it's possibly our last trip here as our friends are selling their house in OBX.

OMG was this outstanding. Steakhouse and seafood doesn't cover this excellence of this place. Pricey - sure a bit but worth every solitary dime. Had the filet -5 ounces and it melted like butter in my mouth. Our server Daniel was a great resource on what to pick ( everything was delicious) and was right on spot whenever we turned around he was ready with another cocktail or choice .
We had creme brûlée and a creme puff vanilla ice cream pastry for dessert .
I was so sated I could barely move - it was an outstanding dinner and the perfect dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday

We got there 4:30 they open at 5:00 and by 4:45 a line started forming. The host was rude about the door being open when people started walking in but then kept the door open so he could yell down the line for anyone who wanted to sit at the bar to skip the line but the person who sat us down and the waitress were friendly. The food was really good and the bathroom was clean. Only 3 stars because of the host when we first entered, we were a table of 2 sat next to a table of 8 instead of next to other couples for a more intimate meal and the fact that some of the food items listed on their website

Four of us were seated right away as we got there rather early when they opened. Filet mignon, salmon, roasted chicken and chicken piccata were all excellent. Gracious host, wonderful wait staff made for a pleasant evening. Great beer and wine selection. Finished with cobbler and profiteroles. Would highly recommend. It is pricey, but worth it! Kudos to girl at front who handled rude comments from a local about tourists-btw, I'm a local also. Rock on.

Let me start off by saying the wait is well worth it. It is first come first serve so be there early to ensure you get a table. Amy was our server and she did an exceptional job. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The crab bisque appetizer was a large bowl of hot crabby goodness! They served warm fresh French bread in a bundle with delicious soft butter. The quail appetizer was Sublime as well as the fried green tomatoes! All steaks we're perfectly prepared and oh so tender you literally could cut them with a fork. We thought we didn't have room for dessert but we made room, lol

Really enjoyed JK - service was great, tobacco shrimp appetizer was great, small portion though. Bread is fantastic. Green onions were okay, and the mesquite shrimp were okay as well.
I enjoyed the filet mignon and the potatoes were fantastic.
Creme brûlée was okay, wish I ordered the peach cobbler instead, I don't like their fancy ice cream sandwiches either.
Overall it's expensive but great food.

Mid January and we had a 20 minute wait! So that says something right there. Very friendly staff, host, and we were seated in a nice quiet area. Our waitress came promptly with menus and took our drink order. We ordered appetizers first, I got the wedge salad(not really appetizer), it was half a head, excellent dressing , took half home for the next day. Dinner I ordered chicken piccata served with mashed potatoes and green pea pods. Everything was excellent. We highly recommend giving it a try, next time we'll try the prime steaks for sure.

We were looking forward to a steak dinner and decided to give this place a try since it is one of the only true steakhouses at OBX. Lots of cars in the parking lot, so felt like it is popular with the locals. Service was fast and friendly and they put us in a back room with 3 socially distanced tables. Everyone wore masks, which we appreciated. Loved the small neck clams appetizer; wish we could have saved the sauce to dip our bread! The warm bread was wonderful - warm and fluffy and enjoyed it very much with their butter. My Caesar

This place is amazing. Great service and great food.
We were just enjoying ourselves and everyone that works there is incredibly nice.
This is a great steakhouse so expect steakhouse prices. It is not cheap and for the food it shouldn't be. Great environment and service and food
My wife ordered the Caesar salad and seafood bisque. The salad has a lot of flavor and the seafood bisque was wonderful and chunky goodness.
The ribeye was a perfect mid rare and the mashed potatoes were whipped with chunks of potato skin in it it was great. The only low point was whatever treatment

All of a sudden I had an intense craving for a steak and thankfully there's a steakhouse here in Kitty Hawk. I called ahead and was told that we could just show up because they weren't that busy. This was a Thursday night. We got there, just had to wait 5 mins then were seated. Everyone was so friendly. Our waiter was Dan and he was great!
Lol I haven't been called 'kid' in a while and I didn't mind it one bit!
I smart squealed in delight when Dan brought fresh warm bread with whipped butter! Very few places still serve bread! There's just something about butter
