Low effort. Better mexican in New haven. Feels like you're doing them a favor by eating here. Can't stand restaurants that operate as family restaurant. Most times in this area that translates to garbage food. No I will not settle for low effort, bland food so that you're able to pay your bills. With that said, provide top quality food and your bills will pay themselves. Do it right, or don't do it at all.

One of the worst service experiences ever received. Ordered on shoreline menus and called after order was 20 minutes late. When I called I was told they would call and get my order out. After another hour I called back I was told that they were too busy and didn’t need my business! Never order from here food is good but obviously don’t believe in customer service!

Place seems nice when you walk in. Staff was friendly, but inept, but one waitress started today and the other had been there for only about two weeks. they were not sure how to answer my question when I asked, if their beef was seasoned. She had to go into the kitchen and ask. I asked if the shredded chicken was seasoned. Had to run back into the kitchen. We ordered drinks that never arrived. Place does not seem clean, and kind of happy we never got the drinks because of that. I reluctantly turned down dessert “on the house”. Owner/manager didn’t even come to apologize, he sent the waitress

I really want to like this place because there are so few good Mexican places on the shoreline. The carne asada is so tough that my fiancé couldn’t even cut through the meat with a steak knife. The manager came over and said “it’s supposed to be like that” and that “it’s chuck”. They did take it off the bill. Michelada was decent, margarita way alright.
This is a second chance for this place…the service this time is slower than the first.
I’m sorry to say that we won’t be coming back.

We stopped out of curiosity since I was in the mood for soup, so the next door place wasn't available.
We walked in and found out they have a Mexican beef soup that was unexpectedly great. It reminded me of a different version of "Sancocho" which is a soup in the Caribbean. Great taste, generous portion for the money and good service. Children ordered different things and they liked them as wel.
Will go back.

One of the more consistent and tasty authentic Mexican options on the shoreline. Cheerful and fun atmosphere for families or couples. Would have actually been 5 stars but they often overcook the carnitas and chicken for some reason. When they're done right they're the absolute best but half the time they come out a little too charred.
