Explore our delicious food and drink menus including gourmet appetizers, specialty pizzas, signature pasta dishes, italian desserts, selection of fine wines and beers, coffee, cappuccino and espresso, and non-alcoholic drinks. In 1994 at the age of 60, Sal decided to open his own restaurant. His interest was to run an Italian pizzeria.

After months of looking around for space, he finally found his location at the old Cumberland Farm Plaza by the Westbrook Town Green. To his surprise, by the second weekend of business with no advertising, there was a line out the door waiting to get into the dining room. We stayed in Westbrook for thirteen years when we decided to move to Old Saybrook in the spring of 2007.

I had the Chicken piccata - wasn't even half a chicken breast and can mushrooms. The total experience was more like a Piccata soup. Worst of all, I'm still hungry. What a waste of money.

I stood there for five minutes and no one would help me! There were plenty of people working at 12:00. One customer picking up several pies ahead of me. Not much else going on. The woman behind the counter was willing to answer the phone, talk to her co-workers, but was not going to pay any attention to one other customer standing in line, so I left!

The pizza is the best in Old Saybrook as it was again tonight. However, I called at 5:10 for 2 pizzas and a salad and was told 20 minutes. I showed up at 5:40, they had me pay, but neglected to tell me that the pizza would be ready at 6pm. Couldn’t she have told me that initially? 6:10 was the final ready time, a full hour after I called. All I got was a half apology, then an apology. No free small pizza or calzone, no voucher for my troubles.
I’m a local who just gave a well deserved 5 star review to a local auto business and have never given a rating to a business of less than 4 stars. But

We were taking a small trip down to CT to visit the Beardsley Zoo (following Rhode Islander rules: drive more than an hour, get a hotel) and dropped in by chance to grab a bite. Oh wow.
The wait staff were incredibly friendly. My son has food allergies, and our waitress checked the bread, soup, and salad ingredients to be sure they were free from milk or egg. She was busy with a few other tables, but still was able to answer our questions and kept the drinks full.
The food itself was a treat. The salads had a nice mix of veggies, and the bread came out steaming. My son loved his chicken soup

Sal's Pizza used to have the best pizza in the area, then he lost the two guys that were making that great pizza, started using low end mozzarella and the pizza is horrible now. Too bad because when they were there no one could top his pizza, the last 4 or 5 pies I ordered had stale crust and no cheese on them even after ordering them with extra mozzarella and paying like $4 extra.

Good old school pasta dishes. Nice portions. Good appetizer house salad and bread. Worth making the trip in or trying a take out.

Love this restaurant! The Italian dishes are all authentic at very reasonable prices. All their entrees are accompanied by a salad with a vinaigrette dressing and hot buns. Their pizzas are absolutely delicious as well as their grinders and panini stuffed breads. Have been going to this restaurant since it originally opened in Westbrook, CT, over 20 years ago. Excellent service!

We all ordered the same thing linguini with sauce and sausage. The food was incredible. They source out local produce and have their own contracted butcher. Not only was the food great but the place is big and sorry and there are huge windows to let in the sun. Also the prices are great and we all had leftovers to boot. Five stars isn't even enough This place goes to 11. It really satisfied my tastes for fresh Italian food
