Professional cleanings are an essential part of keeping your teeth shining and healthy. Even if you do an excellent job of brushing twice a day and flossing daily, there are some areas you can't reach to keep clean. That's where we come in. When you come to District Smiles for your professional teeth cleaning, we start scraping away hardened plaque-called "tartar"-wherever it has accumulated.
Gum disease therapy, also called "periodontal care, " plays a huge role in keeping your gums healthy. You may not realize it, but if your gums are unhealthy, you could wind up losing all your teeth. At District Smiles, we'll examine your gums as well as your teeth because we want to ensure they are 100% healthy.
Sealants are a highly effective method of reducing cavities on the chewing surface of teeth. We may recommend sealants for young patients who consume more sweet foods and drinks than is desirable and who might not brush as long and as often as they should. Research focusing on the effects of sealants has shown that they can reduce the incidence of cavities as much as 80%.

I have had two cleaning at this office in 2020. They took precautions, temperature checks and COVID surveys at each visit and I felt safe. During both my visits Dr. Majd had been wonderful every time! Both him and his hygienists are meticulous and take their time making sure your teeth are clean and healthy. Dr. Majd is professional but also friendly and very funny! I honestly couldn't stop laughing at times. I really do enjoy going to him and his team for my future dental visits.

I made an appointment here for an impromptu cleaning and now they’re my new dental team! Everyone is warm, professional, and thorough. I left without any questions unanswered as well as a solid treatment plan. They are thoughtful and patient about comfort/discomfort while in treatment, and take non rushed time to help sort through things like insurance and discuss options and health. I was able to schedule my follow up treatments promptly and always feel very comfortable and well taken care of- thank you!

Professional, prompt, friendly and Covid safe! I needed an appointment during a certain time frame and William and the staff made it happen. Everyone was friendly professional and made the dentist experience great. I had a few appointments over the timeframe of a month and was guided every step of the way. Temperature was taken and the required documents were given as well as a hydrogen rinse before you begin. Felt very safe. Recommend for all your dentist needs!

Where do I start????? From the ease of making an appointment to the professional greeting and mannerisms of everyone in this office, I am extremely satisfied. William is very knowledgeable and remembers all the details of my (and my daughter) treatment plans. Syed did an amazing job cleaning my teeth in the most gentle manner I have ever experienced. Diamond is a gem (pun intended)...always courteous and very professional. But let's talk about Dr. Majd....not only did he do a root canal where I experienced no pain or swelling , but he (personally) called me the next day after hours to follow-up

This office is knowledgeable, friendly and return phone calls in a timely manner. The office personnel is warm and greeting and the office is very clean. I never thought going to the dentist would be so pleasant! I've had a couple bad doctors appointments in DC, so I was really relieved to find a place where everyone was so kind and helpful. William at the front desk was wonderful and helped me sort out my insurance, which was a big relief. He explained my dental plan to me in detail which I also really appreciated. The assistant and doctor were both very kind and gentle. I didn't feel rushed as I often do, and would definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dentist.

Yes, the building is outdated and the elevator seems like it is going to stop working at any given moment but that's no fault of District Smiles. The office is on the 2nd floor so after trying the elevator upon arrival, I decided I'll be using the stairs from here on out.
Setting up my appointment and rescheduling it with the office manager, William, was such a breeze. He was very kind, courteous, and very helpful. He is a very personable person. I also loved that you can listen to your preferred music

I have been here twice. The first experience at this clinic (last year with a different Doctor) was pleasant so I decided to return for my routine exam and cleaning. This time around, scheduling was quite easy. William, the office manager was flexible and responsive. However, the actual visit left a bad taste. I was surprised to see a different Doctor there who I had not worked with before. He put me through an excessive 40 minute imaging session before even beginning to clean my teeth. I have been a patient at District Smiles for the last year and a half. During that time, my cleanings and appointments were wonderful. The dentists and staff have been professional, thorough, and courteous. Unfortunately, District Smiles has recently been sold and under different ownership. This resulted in changes to the insurance they are in/out of network with. I strongly suggest that any former customers (and new ones) ensure that their insurance covers the treatments they are about to receive before returning to or starting to receive care here to avoid surprises like I did. The worst dental experience of my 50 years on Planet Earth. What are you people smoking in DC? The other 4 reviewers. Seriously, I drove 20 miles from Gaithersburg after giving up my dentist of 20 years. Took this Dr. Curvacous 2 freakin hours just to do my x-rays. She needs to retire. I arrived at 1:30 to fill out there pamphlet size info. packet. and approaching 3pm I was not even close to done. $59 freakin intro. offer for a cleaning and check up. You don't treat new patients like money finders. Everytime she pulled an x-ray panel she said something negative. So disheartening to be criticized

I sort of inherited Dr. Haidar when my regular Dentist Dr. Cuellar retired. I must say that writing a review about a dentist is a bit of a stretch do to the nature of what they do, however, Dr Haidar gets very high marks from me. Her concern for my well being "Do you feel any pain" is indeed gratifying., Her procedures while spending two hours "in the Chair" produced NO PAIN. She did an excellent job at a reasonable price. Her staff is wonderful. You should make an appointment to see her.....get it over with!!!!! You'll be glad you did.

I've been going to Doctor Cuellar since the 90s, even when she was located in Dupont. I've always had warm, careful service here and would be so sad if she retired, because I don't want to go to another dentist!! Both english and spanish speaking patients are welcome, and most insurances are accepted.

I've been going to Dr. Cuellar since 2007. I'm loyal to her because she does great work--especially on repairing my chipped front tooth! She's gentle and effective in encouraging you to take better care of your teeth. Plus, she has Saturday hours which is a great help for me since it's difficult taking time off from work during the week. I highly recommend her.
