I like this place, my father actually works there was an head chef (I believe) I visited the place for the first time and I loved the treatment I’ve got. I also shared this place with my fourth grade teacher. And I hope to come back here again.

Overpriced. Willing to pay if the food lives up to expectations. This place did not.
They brought out rolls when we got seated and some butter. No plates and no butter knife. Rolls were hard. Paid $38 for a Steak that was unimpressive. My daughter had to ask for a roll for her burger as they had only served her the meat. My other daughter ordered pasta off of the kids menu, and it had no sauce.

Walk Street used to be my parents "go to" - they have been going for years. We drive from New Jersey to take them out and for the first time, I couldn't believe how I was treated. The owner was extremely rude. I will be experiencing fine dining elsewhere.

An old favorite... Lunch menu was really well done. A couple of nice soup offerings, an assortment of salads, fresh sandwiches and half and half combos, all @ $10-$12. A number of hot plates, including the signature shrimp risotto and catch of the day, if you prefer.
As always, service was cordial and timely - in and out in under an hour. Drinks always being refilled unless declined. News, sports... on at the bar if that's your speed.
Time to see what's cooking for dinner!

I really would give this place a 3.5. The food is good and the atmosphere is okay but it can get a bit pricey. The median price for an entree is about $25-$30 and an appetizer is about $12-$15 I would expect a bit more for the price that I am paying; however, maybe I am being a bit too critical. Would I go here again... of course. Would I get the same halibut entree that I had this evening (which I thought was a bit over priced)... yes. In a moment of profound self realization perhaps my desire for good food has increased and I simply don't realize the present cost of food. I will attribute my

I love this spot! They serve tasty meals, they have a nice menu, The chef in that restaurant is well trained, I enjoy a lot eating all their food. The food is consistently good, the service towards the customers is efficient. I often eat in this restaurant and I not even once was discontended. I recommend it to all.

I went their during phase 2 of the Covid -19, unlike the 7th street cafe That turned me away because I didn't have a mask on this restaurant seated me within 15 minutes while I waited across the street for the outside table. How was Gonna eat with a mask on is beyond me but thank God for this place. Courteous service and the Food was pretty good too. My wife was happy and so was I. Good place for couples , families and casual dining.

My husband and I love going to Walk Street for weekday lunches (note- they don't serve lunch on the weekend- but I believe they do serve a Sunday brunch).

Price wise, a lunch there is very reasonable (around $30 for 2). The sandwiches are delicious and we love the fries. You aren't rushed away, but the meal is quick enough that you can comfortably finish within an hour lunch break.

Dinner is also great- but note that it does get crowded there and noisy at night. The burger is delicious. I love the chicken Milanese and the house salad. Wine selection isn't great, so stick to beer

A good Garden City stable right down town. Friendly night time bar b4 and after dinner. Menu has lots of variety and food consistently good. They do offer daily specials and outdoor dining in season. Moderately priced lunch and dinner.

The food is ok but the older lady at the hostess stand is always miserable. Always. And this ruins it for me every time. I was in a few months back and my son had spilled some water on the floor, so we moved his chair over to the side so we could clean it up and she reprimanded us because he was now "in the way". We explained to her that we were just cleaning up the water. Most people would have asked to have it cleaned up. We didn't and were really trying to be helpful. She walked way in a huff and was rude to us for the remainder of our visit.

I was back again recently and she

Disgusting place. Dirty, rude, poorly managed.

First it looked nice with the outdoor seatings so we went to check it out... felt very rushed off, people here are miserable and hate their jobs. We received a butter plate USED with one finished butter in it, I pointed the fact to the waitress, no apology she brings another butter that has MOLD in it... we couldn't leave since we already ordered and didn't want to cause a scene... ate our eggs and we were out.

Avoid this place and save your good mood!

I eat here regularly for lunch. Prices are very good for garden city area. Service is usually pretty good, even when they’re busy. The bar is tiny, if you get a seat there be careful their bins of potatoe chips are addicting.

Beautiful setting on 7th Street, with very nice seasonal outdoor seating. Very good American food menu with EXCELLENT Shrimp Risotto. Roquefort cheeseburger is a special that is definitely worth the indulgence. Very good seafood specials and high quality steak entrees as well. Solid wine and cocktail list at good prices for the quality. Food quality rating? 8.5

Downside? Can get quite loud when busy.

Run don't "walk" away from this overpriced mediocre restaurant. Was there recently with friends and so very disappointed with my appetizer and entree. My filet mignon was very poor quality and the taste was off, as if it was bad. That night let's just say I had a very bad belly.

I was reluctant to send the meal back because I was a guest and was not paying for my dinner. I called the next day and the owner did not listen to my concerns and was quite rude. Will not be returning here and will tell all my friends to seek other, more accommodating and better quality establishments

Very nice lunch today with a business associate.

This was my first experience at Walk Street and was surprised I had never dined here before being that it has been in Garden City for a long time.

Interior is very nicely appointed, bright and colorful artwork of fish on the walls, simple elegant table settings and a nice bar in the middle of the space.

What struck me pleasantly by surprise was the affordability of the lunch items, given the surrounding competition. Entrees in the 10-12 range and very nice sized portions.

I ordered the shrimp risotto and it was flavorful. Shrimp was cooked nicely

This is a cute little place. The brick dining room walls are adorned with foodstuff portraiture, but it's the bar area decor that I really love. Awesome patriotic stuff, along with a bunch of New York Jets tributes and memorabilia. Definitely a Jets-friendly establishment so they are AOK right off the bat.

Not a whole lot in the way of menu choices. The portion size definitely on the smaller end of the spectrum. No huge platters here, no leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. And for the price I'd have to say the portions are downright stingy The calamari app was almost laughingly small

We sat outside under an umbrella which was lovely. Even with it being on busy 7th Street it didn't disturb my visit with a good friend. Delicious endive salad with shrimp. Will order again! May even get it for take out some day. My only complaint is the service. Our server was friendly but he disappeared for a long time when we gave him our credit card to pay the bill. It was lunch time and i needed to get back to the office. That was frustrating.

Went in today with my girlfriend during my lunch break. She had gotten a sandwich with peppers, balsamic aoli, chicken, lettuce and cheese. It was very tasty.

I had gotten a bleau cheese burger, which was excellent! It also came with fries which were good. Overall it was very good, and the staff was pleasant.

I would definitely go back. I liked my food better this time then when I had went a couple years back.

Walk Street is not your grandparents' place... well actually, it is.

Came early on a Friday evening to find the joint jumping with a demographic that skewed older. I also noticed a lot of families in here as well. Nothing wrong with any of that, but it didn't help the feeling of being out of place when they put us in a seat in the corner near the bar - are we being punished by the folks?

I do have to say that I was surprised how large this place was inside and I did find decor pleasing, but perhaps a little worn when I noticed a hole in the banquet my wife was seated upon.
