Services
We pride ourselves in putting our clients first and using a collaborative, non-judgmental approach to address the root of emotional or behavioral symptoms. Work with creative methods to access previously unknown characteristics about yourself instead of revisiting information you already have. Utilize experiential (in the moment) therapeutic tools to tap into how the brain learns emotionally.
Here's a simple question: how do you know if counseling is going to be effective for you? We take this question seriously. That's why we treat each client with respect, care, and expertise. Our team has decades of experience in using talk therapy to address both emotional and behavioral symptoms in clients.
Anxiety comes in many forms and is not usually a welcome part of our life. Fortunately, there are many ways to improve how you respond to your anxiety so that you can enjoy life, be productive, have healthy relationships, and boost your creativity. Find yourself using more alcohol or other substances to feel calm or quiet anxious or nervous feelings.
Our experienced counselors provide psychotherapy for depression and can help you be yourself again. Contact us today! Depression is different from person to person, and depression can be so commonplace that we don't even notice it. Whether it's a case of the blues that you can't shake or clinical depression, we're well equipped to help you get control of your life and start enjoying it again.
My name is Keith Miller. I specialize in mindfulness-based treatment of postpartum or antepartum (during pregnancy) depression or anxiety. I've been providing Maryland postpartum depression counseling in private practice since 2002. You've heard messages your whole life about how you're supposed to feel as a new or expecting mom.

His gentle soothing personality is a plus in helping individuals and couples feel calm, something that is so needed. He has carefully selected like-minded therapists that help support his mission! Extremely disappointing experience. I met with Samuel, one of the clinicians whom Keith felt would be a "great fit" based on our initial conversation. I found him to be very cold and dismissive, and not at all equipped to handle my needs.
When I got in touch with Keith a few days later, he did apologize profusely and offered me a refund. I appreciated this gesture, but he also promised to find another therapist for me and then never got back in touch.
I recommend finding one of the many other practices in DC. KMA is simply too unprofessional and careless to merit your time and money.
