Since 2002, ZUM has helped thousands of people feel more confident and take on life's challenges with energy and clarity. Proof of vaccination is required to be an employee, member, guest, or onsite contractor or vendor. Many people are embracing running as a form of exercise and stress relief during this period in time.
Some are first timers, some are returning to the sport. In any case, It's important to take one's time when ramping up the distance in any running program. Most people would never show up to the gym. In this episode Liz Robinson talks with ZUM's own Ye Olde Barbell Society (YOBS) about their regular weekly workouts, their funny t-shirts, and the importance of community as part of your fitness lifestyle.

I remain impressed with Zūm Fitness. Zūm has always been different in a very positive way - while most gyms are all about taking in as much money as possible under the guise of health and fitness, Zūm has always been about improving the well-being of not only members, but staff and the greater community. It’s a welcoming group of highly skilled fitness professionals looking to help inspire true change.

Great gym for the variety of equipment and free classes. They have monkey bars, rowing machines, climbing and warrior ropes in addition to all the equipment one would normally expect. Not too difficult to get a squat rack or bench press even at peak hours. My one complaint is that I never attended the classes, and the classes were right next to the cardio equipment and pretty loud and would always happen right around 5/6 pm. But sometimes trainers would play good music so whatever. Locker rooms were pretty clean. Decent sauna. Overall good value.

I hardly ever write reviews, but I have been working out at ZUM for nearly a year now and it is not an exaggeration to say ZUM and their team has advanced the quality of my life and health for the better, big time. First, the ZUM experience: while at first it could seem a bit intimidating at first, the facility is truly the best environment to workout anywhere in Seattle and I have over the years tried pretty much all of them, both public and private clubs. The combination of the generous space over two floors, the light from all three sides as well as huge skylights, the variety of serious and

I tried the free week trial with ZUM Fitness. Their customer service was beyond expectations. Despite its prime location in the middle of downtown, the gym was pretty empty when I went in. I took yoga and ZUM sport and loved both of the classes. Once again, I appreciated the extra guidance since the class sizes were small. The washroom has a shower, sauna, lockers, towels and amenities - nothing to really complain there. I'm unfortunately not signing up since it's a bit on the expensive side; however, I appreciated the warm welcome by the staff and trainers.

I really enjoy training with Laurie. Her workouts are challenging enough to progress you towards your fitness goals without becoming unenjoyable. She mixes up the exercises to make sure you don't build muscle imbalances. All while maintaining an encouraging, yet sophomorically humorous vibe. I highly recommend Laurie for your next butt kicking!

By far the best gym atmosphere I’ve ever been seen. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful and you truly get a community feeling. At first I stuck to workouts on my own and the gym has more than everything that I needed for any movement. After 5 weeks of that I started signing up for classes and now I’m hooked. Whether you’re looking to get a good workout in or learn new strength techniques, I highly recommend this gym. Whether you’re looking for

This gym may be very elegant! Likely the nicest gymnasium I've used within the States. I suppose their instructions and their instructors are terrific, informed and green. I could need to deliver a special "shout out" to trainer/trainer. He is high-quality. I desire I may want to find the money for him!

Both the personal training & group classes at ZUM are excellent. Personal Trainer, Mo Sullivan, is top notch for general fitness instruction as well as Pilates specific training. I've been seeing Mo for several years now & I appreciate that she caters each workout to my specific body needs & fitness goals.

PILATES! Did I get your attention? ;) It's pretty rare for a gym to have a top-notch pilates presence and Zum has that in spades. Of course there are mat classes but there is also a dedicated pilates room with two reformers, two stability chairs, a cadillac and excellent, trained pilates instructors. I've worked with Mo Sullivan twice a week - one-on-one pilates sessions. She is amazing, intuitive, knowledgeable, personable, professional - I feel lucky to have her.
Zum itself is an exceptional gym, too. Excellent staff and training staff, exceptionally clean facilities, motivating

Awesome place to work out specially if you are a road warrior. Staff is super friendly and customer focused. Nate, my trainer, was just fantastic in showing how to stretch, what routines to focus on and how to achieve my goals. Gave me awesome pointers what to do every day to avoid future issues. The best trainer I have worked with for sure and even took time to type up and send an email with links to what routines I need to do
Awesome place and kudos to Nate - five star trainer!!

I've been a member of Zum for 4 few years. I absolutely love it.
The classes are top notch. I'd recommend anything by Liz (her 11:10am Mon, Wed, is my favorite) or Derek or Ta Wei. You will have fun and you will sweat! And get a massage by Tony (who also teaches some great morning classes), he's helped me a lot after long runs. The staff gets to know you and they're always friendly and totally professional.
The gym itself is clean and the equipment is well taken care of. I also really enjoy the friends I've made over the years. All of this makes my workouts the best

I've been a member of Zum for over a year and continue to enjoy every aspect of the gym.
The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They know me by name and all of the instructors/trainers are engaged and encouraging.
I really enjoy both the quality and variety of classes that Zum offers. Shout out to Liz who is my absolute favorite instructor. Her mini blast classes are fast-paced and challenging - a great way to get an intense and quick work out in during the workday.
The equipment and locker rooms are always very well maintained and the gym never feels overcrowded.

So my initial review of the place was four stars (nice gym but oh so expensive...that's Westlake for you). However, if you are a UW employee, you are eligible for a discount! I only heard about this later from a fellow colleague.
First and foremost, the staff are so wonderful and friendly. I've been at the gym for a little over several months and they seem to genuinely enjoy connecting with their gym members and working at Zum - whether it's to recommend outdoor bike safety gear, help you on your squat form, or recommend a Physical Therapist. And it's not in a creepy or pushy

I LOVE Zum Fitness! Every time I walk inside I feel welcomed and appreciated that I am a member there. It has everything that you need and expect in a gym - Great treadmills, open space, plenty of weighted equipment, and an abundance of classes. I've never been disappointed there. It's expensive, but you pay for location and you pay for quality. Will always recommend this gym to people who are looking for a welcoming atmosphere and are looking to better their lifestyle.

I have been going to ZUM Fitness since last July and I truly love it. No, it isn't "cheap", but everything you get in return is well worth the price and very difficult to find within Seattle gyms.
PROS
1. It's consistently spotless.
2. I almost never have to wait to use a machine, and it's rarely crowded (except 5pm-6:30pm when it's busiest).
3. The classes are truly superb and the instructors are extremely knowledgeable and attentive when teaching. Form is very important and they make sure everybody is managing their workouts.
4. I love the strong sense of community

You get what you pay for! This is the best investment I've ever made in my life. I've been a member for over a year and I love everything about Zum, from the staff to the trainers, to the amazing products in the locker rooms. We are talking about Aveda shampoo, conditioners, and styling products. Not only there are hair dryers but also curling irons and straighteners.
I am so impressed by the fitness instructors and the classes they take time to create each and everyday. Not a single class will be exactly the same. You will not only become fitter and stronger but increase your range

Finally, a gym worth talking about in the area. Yay for providing towels, digital locks, fully stocked bathrooms, and most of the things that I needed. I haven't tried any of their classes, but they look really good since the class was full and the instructor looked to be engaging with his students.
There is a couple of things that I didn't like though. For one, there is barely any mirrors. In fact, there is NONE downstairs. I also wish they organize their stuff a little better because it seems like they just threw everything in the middle of the room. It's a little hazardous

This place (@ZumFitness) is a joke.
I lived in LA for almost 5 years (Beverly Hills for 1), I get the interest in clean, aesthetically pleasing boutique style gyms, man, but these guys are doing it all wrong.
Firstly, this is Seattle. It's Amazon money and predominantly older money that smells like moth balls (yes I'm also talking about you 37-52 year olds).
Look, most of these guys and a lot of them are my peers, don't care about the boutique gyms, they just appreciate a clean locker room. Pro Sports Club is great for that. But I would hope that in the future at Zum, a.) they

The facility itself is probably one of the nicest in Seattle. Fully equipped with strength training gear like platforms, bumpers, chain and chalk then cardio equipment and finally studio boxing type setups. The decor is like a contemporary loft like the Mosler building on 3rd, but warmer in colors.
The locker rooms have electronically locked lockers that are pretty spacious. There's also cosmetic products and hygiene products to use like mouth wash, pomade and shampoo etc. Complementary towel service too.
The people working out here are generally mid to upper 30's on average and probably

Been a member for three years and I love it. In fact, I actually turned down a job because it was too far away from the gym and I wouldn't be able to make it to my lunchtime classes anymore. Intelligent, caring staff members, fun classes, great locker room. It's definitely a community. If I just wanted a place to lift and run on a treadmill, I would probably go somewhere cheaper. But I don't. I want feedback, camaraderie and support as I work towards my goals. And I get all that. I feel safe, supported and challenged in all the right ways.
Love it. Love it. Love it.
