Colorado criminal law provides that an individual can be charged in the Denver metropolitan area, and in other areas of the state, with different types of criminal assault.
The classification of the crime of assault depends on several factors, including the seriousness of the injuries inflicted, the intent of the person accused of the crime, whether a weapon was used, sometimes where the assault was committed, and, under some circumstances, the employment of the alleged victim.Third degree assault is the least serious assault charge defined under Colorado statutes.

Colorado criminal law describes domestic violence as an act or threatened act of violence upon a person with whom the individual is or has been involved in an intimate relationship. However, the interpretation is much broader than what first appears.
Domestic violence also includes any other crime against a person, or against property, including an animal, or any municipal ordinance violation against a person, or against property, including an animal, when used as a method of coercion, control, punishment, intimidation, or revenge directed against a person with whom the actor is or has been involved in an intimate relationship.

If you have been charged or arrested, or are under investigation for illegal drug possession within the Denver metropolitan area, or anywhere else within the State of Colorado, it is essential that you consult an experienced criminal defense attorney before making any statement to the police or prosecutors.
The Colorado Children's Code provides that adolescents under the age of 18 years old may be charged in juvenile court or sent to juvenile detention centers for illegal behavior. Most often, rather than being accused of being guilty of having committed a crime, the minor is accused of having committed a delinquent act.

I got a bad speeding ticket in Colorado recently and asked Ross Koplin for help (I found him on google). He told me that it was likely that he could significantly reduce my penalty, so I paid his retainer and crossed my fingers (he seemed like he knew what he was doing on the phone).
In fact, Mr Koplin was great. Instead of taking my money and disappearing, he kept in touch and worked diligently until he had negotiated a good deal for me.
Honestly, I couldn't be more satisfied with Attorney Koplin. If I ever get another traffic ticket, he will be my first call.
Thank you Ross Koplin!

I live in Las Vegas and a Spanish speaking friend who's a truck driver asked me to find a good criminal law attorney in Colorado for some traffic violations, and asked for me to interpret. My friend used Ross's services in April of 2019 and had a great experience. My friend got into another situation this year and we again reached out to Ross. He quite simply exceeded our expectations. My experience is that Ross kind, responsive, easy to get a hold of and very professional. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a solid criminal attorney in Colorado. Thanks again for the great service

I received a ticket while on a trip to CO (I don't live in the state). After much confusion about rules/transferability of the violation/points, I reached Ross who was very clear and upfront about the situation. I hired Ross, and he did an excellent job at reducing my penalty and effectively removing all points, for a reasonable price in a timely manner. He was professional, communicative, and delivered on his promise. Would highly recommend.

I have used Ross Koplin 2 times now, and I must say, he is very excellent! Not only was he able to get both infractions refused, he was also able to get the fine reduced as well. I highly recommend Ross! His responses are fast and straight to the point. There's no run around, and he responds with all necessary information. Not to mention he's a very nice person, and extremely easy to talk to. He's very courteous, and highly respectful, definitely the right person to get the job done! Ross Koplin is definitely getting a full 5 stars from me!

I would highly recommend Mr. Koplin to represent you if you have a traffic issue. I backed into a girl - causing no damage to either vehicle. She, however, was convinced there was lots of damage. I saw dollar signs flashing in her mind and I panicked. I drove off without giving her my information. I was wrong to do this. She of course got my license plate and called the police. It was a nightmare as I was charged with 3 offenses - leaving the scene of an accident, failure to call police, and unsafe backing. I decided to get help but had no idea how to find a lawyer that specialized in this area

Ross Koplin is a knowledgeable, attentive, and efficient attorney. Our teenage daughter had a minor traffic collision which was arguably due to poor visibility. The officer who came to the scene gave her a ticket and three points on her license. We retained Ross as a way of navigating what we perceived as an overly stiff penalty. He assisted our daughter in enrolling in an "Alive at 25" four-hour class, and worked to ensure her sentence was reduced and her points eliminated. Ross's wise counsel took a frustrating situation and made it a good learning lesson for our daughter

I just finished up with Ross on 2 different cases that I was putting off for over 2 years. Ross quickly got these cases dismissed within 30 days. I am extremely happy I hired Ross Koplin. I always spoke with only Ross and never had to jump through hoops to get him on the phone. He is quick to respond through all forms of communication and is highly professional in how he handles everything. Thank you for taking good care of me and helping me move past these legal issues

Just called and spoke to Ross Koplin who didn't even allow me to finish my sentence before he hung up on me rudely. I called to inquire if his firm would be interested in representing me to get a $560 boot removed from a car that wast just relocated to Denver, and he didn't even allow me to finish my question before hanging up on me. No professionalism or class.

Ross is amazing! He knows the Judges, the DAs, he's so good he almost makes you feel like you didn't need him at all. A good friend got smashed crossing a one way downtown, they didn't even hit their brakes, his SUV did a 180 they hit him so hard. The cop gave him a ticket for stealing the right of way, blaming him for the accident. He was facing thousands of dollars in fines and auto related restitutions. Although, the other driver if A.) was paying attention and B.) wasn't speeding - would've had plenty of time to stop. I took the same route at 50 and slammed on brakes

This "gentleman" was one of the rudest people that I have ever had the misfortune of speaking with. I had a question for him and when I did not ask the question at what he must have considered an acceptable speed, he actually hung up on me, after being extremely rude from the outset of the conversation.
