I recently drove a client from Albany, NY to Foxwoods and was delighted to be able to pick up my all time favorite New England fried clams from Johnny's! I just opened it up, sat it in the passengers seat and nibbled it most of the way home. Clams were excellent, coleslaw had little flavor and no creaminess, but I didn't care, I was there for the clams! I also picked up a big bowl of lobster bisque for lunch tomorrow! I had to try it, but I'm definitely looking forward to tomorrow 😋

Very disappointed, they didn't have the two items my husband specifically went to get. The fish was good and a good portion size but everything else was bland, especially the chowder. Living on a pension doesn't leave much for extras so looking forward to this and getting disappointed is a real shame.

Leaning more towards 3.5, only reason being cleanliness of outside seating and my disappointment with the lobster roll. At $26 for the roll I expected more tail but it was more of a claw and knuckle sanwich which would be OK I guess if they thew more lobster in. Long story short it was a small lobster roll on a very soggy roll. Basically just pulled bread out and ate the lobster meat.
On a good note they have grate scallops and fried clams and stuff at decent price and the chowders are deliscious

Just had chowder and fritters. I should have known it wasn’t going to be good when it was ready in 10 seconds. Fritters were small and very dense with little if any clam flavor! Clearly not made to order. The chowder tasted like canned, no flavor at all. We were very disappointed and won’t return. It’s too bad because they have no competition in this area for this kind of food. A decent chowder isn’t difficult to make nor are fritters! I try to support local businesses but not this one!

My husband wanted to try it,he heard good things.Whoever gave him that info was dead wrong!We got the fish and chips,figuring it was a safe bet for a new place.We got maybe a cup of fries and raw fish.I wouldn'… t go back if you paid me.Ill go to Pizza Palace or Big Y,at least you'll get a cooked meal and good portions at both!Oh,and the manager of the establishment wasn't very receptive to criticism, he was rude

We were hoping for some decent seafood. clam chowder has ZERO clams in it and almost no potatoes, tasted like Snows clam chowder from a can, but strained out. a large chowder was the size of a cup anywhere… else. no clamcakes on the menu for online ordering. the fish tacos were OK, but weren't put together like 2 tacos, just slapped two tortillas next to each other with a pile of lettuce and a couple chunks of fish on top. the flavor was good though.
not going to lie. kind of disappointing. I guess that's what you get for ordering seafood from a roadside stand in the middle of the woods

Had the pleasure of catching Johnny on his last day and apparently last moments for the 2020 season. I am so glad we did. Got the Fish and Chips and Calamari with some clam chowder. The food was outstanding… and Johnny was extremely friendly and community minded. Johnny’s Clam Shack will be on my regular rotation for 2021! It was a pleasure to meet you Johnny and I hope your off season is restful and safe. Thank you for taking care of the men and women who protect our city! See you next year.
