Family is the cornerstone of our practice. We value our clients and understand that your pet is a member of your family and deserves the very best care and attention. That is why the husband and wife team of Dr. Bob and Dr. Kay Bruno established Moreland Veterinary Hospital in 1998. Our family practice provides personal care and extended veterinary services to the SE Portland communities of Sellwood, East Moreland, West Moreland and Woodstock.
Dr. Kay Bruno has been surrounded by animals all of her life. Her parents maintained acreage complete with goats, horses, rabbits and chickens. At a very early age, Dr. Kay Bruno's passion for animals (and a knack for math and science) drove her to pursue a career in veterinary services. Dr. Bruno graduated from Oklahoma State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 where she met her husband and future family business partner.

As a new client of our Veterinary Hospital in Portland, you can expect our full attention to your pets' needs. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we'll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet. In most cases, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet's medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.

Basically they lost record of my appointment I called in for weeks in advance.
I had called to schedule an appointment early in December. Had a long wait, but that was fine. The person I spoke to was super helpful and had me excited to start bringing my cat here.
I called back over two weeks later to confirm everything just in case, only to learn they had no record of me contacting them. My several minute phone call earlier in the month says otherwise, but my bigger problem is that I just waited over 2 weeks to have my cat with asthma checked on, and they really dropped the ball on that one.

PRO: Usually able to be scheduled within a reasonable period of time, quality of care is good, clinic is very close to me, they are knowledgeable and seem to really care about our family members across their entire lifespan, seems relatively affordable compared to other places.
CON: Doctor's do not get back to you and do not make themselves easily available for consultation. The clinic is 100% busy 100% of the time so if you are looking for someplace a bit more casual and accessible this might not be a good fit.

Dr. Robert Bruno is AWESOME!
Personal care, kind, teaches you how to take care of your animal! Quick to fit you in, and affordable care! Helps build you up, so you can have confidence while caring for the fur-baby :) especially one that was brought home from the Humane Society after being bouncing back & forth from three different homes and the humane society by the time she was four years old. We will be her ONLY home, and so glad we found Moreland Veterinary Hospital!
