Services
Since we opened the doors of Green Lake Animal Hospital in 1972 we have proudly helped thousands of pets receive the expert attention, treatment, and preventative care they need to lead healthier lives. We provide a wide spectrum of services across all our locations, which are available to any of our patients.
Annual examinations play an important role in patient care management. Many diseases do not produce observable symptoms, making their clinical signs difficult to pick up. An excellent gauge of a patient's health status is weight. Weight changes that are slow or mild are difficult to identify without using a scale.
By preventing oral disease through early involvement in healthcare, the overall burden is both less costly and ultimately more effective than waiting until your pet has oral deficiencies. Three of our facilities provide extensive dental services for patients of any SVA location.

These include prophylaxis, examination of teeth and gums, polish and fluoride, sub-gingival curettage, root planning, therapeutic periodontal treatments, dental radiology, root canals (Northwest Veterinary Hospital only), and dental extractions.
All our radiographs are evaluated in-house and then sent to radiologists for further review. Radiographs are images produced by x-rays. Radiology is a quick and easy imaging modality that provides details on internal organs and structures. We provide skeletal and soft tissue studies as well as specialized contrast studies.
In order to better serve our clients and patients, we offer telemedicine appointments. You can connect with the same doctors you know and trust; from the comfort of your home through your smartphone. Nothing changes at the hospital at all. We'd love to continue to see you and your pet in person, and please remember to be sure to always call in case of emergency.

They have messed up appointments with cardiologists hard to find in Seattle twice already, they are nice but their clumsiness put our dog at risk

GLAH has been excellent. They've been with me and my two shibas for probably a decade. I've primarily seen Dr. West, Dr. De, and Dr. Mortimer and all have been personable, professional and knowledgable.
The two stories I will share are one from each dog. The first is that of the esophagus issue the boy had. It was hard to get to the root of it and after a battery of tests the team at GLAH was not hesitant to refer him out to a specialist. They struck the balance right. The most was done to make sure it wasn't something GLAH could handle but not so much as to be wasting money.
The second is the

Our cats have been well-cared-for by Green Lake doctors and staff for over two decades. We wouldn't go anywhere else, even though we no longer live in that neighborhood. We so appreciate the values and quality at GLAH.

I took my pets (a cat and a dog) to Green Lake Animal Hospital for approximately two years. They were always attentive and thorough, especially throughout various lockdowns and changing safety protocols. They did a great job with a tooth extraction for my dog and followed up after every appointment to check on the pets.
I was most impressed, however, when I moved away from Seattle and needed a quick prescription refill. Everyone in the clinic was responsive and made sure that I was able to have my cat's prescription filled, even though we lived in another state. I'd definitely recommend them for

I'm probably considered a difficult 'patient', because I'm stressed when my dog is suffering, and, I have this 'alternative' bent. We saw Dr. De here at Greenlake Animal Hospital and previously at a partner clinic, Northwest Vet Hospital. We've also seen Dr. Spencer at the latter. I try to remind myself that the world doesn't revolve around me - that said, on a recent visit with an acute paw injury that I was freaking out about, Dr. De said, after I questioned a prescription recommendation, that 'she read me to prefer...'. I realized two things: firstly, how crucial it was for me to be very clear

I have a very anxious, fearful rescue pitbull. We usually go to Ravenna Animal Hospital, but went to their sister clinic in Green Lake for some bloodwork. The vet techs were so professional and helpful. I explained Wanda's anxiety and that we used treats to make her feel more comfortable. They couldn't have been more accommodating!

GLAH has been caring for my cat Lucy for over a decade. They helped me navigate through some early health and behavioral issues and have taken excellent care of her over the years. She also boards there occasionally and it is a comfort to me knowing she's in excellent hands. I highly recommend GLAH.

We've taken our dog here ever since we moved to Seattle (4+ years). This is the best vet I've ever experienced. They are so kind, attentive and patient. Very responsive with any questions or concerns and work diligently to find the best solution or options. Even throughout the pandemic, I'm continuously amazed at their level of service. It certainly hasn't been easy and I so appreciate their dedication. Not to mention, our dog loves coming here each time (regardless of the treatment)!

Went for the first time last week because my kitty passed away and they were the only open vet. They were sympathetic, understanding, and professional. They made me feel comfortable leaving my companion there and you can tell they really care. :)

I was hung up on twice.

The first time was by the receptionist, who said that I couldn't make an appointment because my dog hadn't been there before and I was from Alaska. I had the nerve to say she could have told me that before and didn't have to keep me waiting on the phone for a long time.

The second time was after I had called back and was indeed making an appointment when someone else came on the phone and said that in my initial call I had been "rude" to the receptionist and I deserved to be hung up on and couldn't make an appointment.

The hospital told us that our pet needed an X-ray to determine whether the pet had a blockage .$840 said that there was no blockage (wrong) sold us medication with a 500 percent markup and did not offer a prescription, said that our pet needed an ultrasound $950 to determine if he had cancer. Did not take any labs. We took him somewhere else and our pet is fine. Not happy!

Dr. Elizabeth Spencer and the entire team at Queen Anne Animal Clinic/Northwest Animal Clinic is absolutely amazing!

I moved here from Phoenix, AZ with 2 Olde English Bulldogges and I really liked my Vet, so we were sad to say bye.
Since moving I've sort of hopped around to different Vets not really loving any of them until I met Dr. Spencer!
I can honestly say that I love Dr. Spencer even more than any other Vet I've ever met!!

Bringing my babies to see Dr. Spencer is like going to see the beautiful, young version of Gandoff the old wise wizard from Lord of the Rings.. She took

We love the people and the service at green lake animal hospital. We used to see Dr. Richardson, who has since retired, and now try to see Dr. West. She is so thorough and compassionate! On occasion, we've had to see other doctors and they all are good. The staff out front is great too. I recommend this place.

I'm going to start this with 2 stars and change it later.
I've taken my pup Tycho here before when he was extremely sick with bronchitis, the vets were amazing. I already know that this is one of the most expensive clinics in the area, but it's close to us and I do generally like the vets I've met.
I usually go to Northwest Veterinary Hospital which handsdown is 10 star place with the BEST vets, but I unfortunately have to get my puppy neutered at Greenlake.

It's my first time owning a puppy, he's the love of my life and he's had a rough go at things. The giardia

Been taking my dog here for the past year and a half and honestly I don't know why I haven't switched vets sooner. This place is a complete rip off. They up charge you on literally everything. I realize we live in Seattle and things are expensive but this place & it's parters (QA animal clinic & Ravenna - we've been to all 3) are just absurd. At first I was ok with paying the big bucks because I thought we were getting good care but then the care started to decline and I realized that they aren't the only place that can provide quality care. 2 extreme examples are

The front desk staff, Vet Assistant and Vet I saw today were all very kind. Every single one of them raves about my dog, which of course makes you feel like you and your pet matter most! My questions were answered in depth. I did not feel rushed. No complaints at this time. We will return.

I have complete trust in Dr. Jeb Mortimer! For over 10 years, he has cared for my dogs and helped me through the passing of one beloved dog. I appreciate that he is equally skilled at human relationships, as he is at animal care. The technicians and staff have always been friendly and attentive. Becky is often the first encounter on the phone or at the front desk - she is fabulous and has been a consistent face for my entire experience. I can't imagine going anywhere else!

We've been clients here for 13 years so obviously we really trust the Veterinarians here. This year has been very difficult for us, we lost our beloved oldest chihuahua to cancer and then our other babies caught a parasite. Which mimicked the symptoms of cancer so we had some huge moments of stress. Which is where the amazing people at Green lake come into play.

Dr. Mortimer held our hands through the cancer diagnosis and treatment until ultimately having to let him go. We were the poster children for demanding clients and we were treated with kindness and care through the whole process

The most important thing about finding a great doctor for your furry children is trust. I don't care how much it costs (though the price is reasonable) and I don't care how far (though it's not far and they have parking) - I just care that the people I trust care about the well being of my babies and are brilliant enough to make those decisions.

I am the second generation in my family to be loyal to this clinic, my Mom brought her babies here and now I bring mine.

I could go on and on and point out various occasions where Dr. Mortimer saved my furry children's lives, how

This is a place where people REALLY care about animals. Even the receptionists are extremely knowledgeable, and understand that your dog or cat is your baby and you would absolutely die if anything happened to them.

I found Green Lake Animal Hospital through a friend's recommendation, and went with my shy, skittish rescue dog. Xena is a lab/boxer mix, so she's not exactly little.

From the receptionists to the vet tech to the veterinarian herself (we use doctor Edwards), they all got it, and were extra gentle. But they all had steady hands because it was very clear they knew exactly
