Please do yourself a favor and find somewhere else. The area is extremely unsafe, in the last 6 months our car has been broken into, egged, and our personal storage unit inside the building has been trashed out by the maintenance team. We cannot trust our neighbors or the staff themselves. The property manager has sent out several emails about people squatting in the laundry rooms and has done nothing about it. We thought we had the safest spot on the complex since we live in the same building as the leasing office, but apparently we were wrong.

I rented at York Hills apartments for three years from July 2018- July 2021. I paid a total of $36,744 in rent on time every month for three years. Upon moving out, they charged me the value of my entire security deposit for their own maintenance costs (replacing the 3 year old carpet for which I was charged $275) and a $25 oven cleaning, see the attached photo. They never updated anything in the unit, it took at least a month for any issue to be fixed (if they ever got fixed) because they have one maintenance staff for 96 apartments. I know it may seem like a good deal, but I urge you not to rent

Please read the attached email that was sent to me from York Hills’ property manager, Kathee Johns. Our storage unit was mixed up with the unit above us and wrongly trashed out, which we were told by Bill on the maintenance team. Kathee told us that it was impossible for her team to do this and that it was a “break in”, so we had a police officer come take a look and he agreed that it was wrongly trashed out. Keep in mind that the only people who have keys to the storage unit are the residents to that building + the office staff, and we had a personal lock on our unit as well. Nobody else’s

I honestly was not going to leave a negative review in spite of the awful time we had at this place, but a straw just broke the camel’s back so here we go. During our short two years at York Hills we had to live without A/C for days in a 90 degree apartment and live without heat for days in a 30 degree apartment (multiple times). The HVAC was always "fixed" with Band-Aids, but would break again within weeks. A specialist told us at one point that they should replace the unit but management refused. We had a bathroom leak that was not fixed for over year, and a maintenance man who stole from us

I called to inquire about new units availability. The woman I talked to named Kathy was rude and not knowledgeable. First, she said there is a unit available then she said wait that has been rented. Then when I asked about other units and locations she started to begin aggravated. She said I have the room full of people here and that there are people here waiting. I told here if she wanted me to call back at a later time she said no that is fine. I could tell from her tone that she did not want to provide any additional information. I felt not welcoming as a prospective renter. Bad customer service

Seriously look elsewhere. For what you pay for, you get thin walls, outdated appliances and fixtures, and a whole lot of nothing.
The upstairs neighbors are up all hours of the night stomping above us. Not just the normal creaking you hear in apartment living, STOMPING at 3 sometimes 4am! Absolutely unacceptable.
Maintenance takes forever.
The office is rude.
1 bed 1 bath and a view of the parking lot for over 700 a month?! Hell no.
Not to mention parking is a complete disaster. There should be assigned parking due to the over abundance of vehicles. It's ridiculous.

Lived here for a year. The place is expensive, I had a two bedroom. There was a deck, central air and heating and two entranceways. Did not have any trouble with sound as the walls and floors seemed thick enough not to hear any neighbor noise.
The pool is nice and the community too. Never had a problem with anyone living thrte. Maintenance was quick to respond to issues. Only downside was the price.
