TLC Animal Hospital is a small animal veterinary hospital that was founded in 1978 by Dr. Guy Johnsen and his wife, Kathy Johnsen. Their legacy of excellence in care and customer service has been passed down to Dr. Vicki Dashley and Dr. Alfredo Lara. 1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service, and minimizing costs, we do not bill. 2. We accept debit cards, all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), Care Credit, checks, and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card.

This vet office consistently goes above and beyond. I have had a few bad experiences here, nothing too horrible - just long wait times. Overall, be prepared to wait a little as they don’t normally turn people away (thankfully) and they are busy and have a lot of animals they take care of. Their vets KNOW without a doubt what they are doing, and treat your animals as if they were their own. I don’t think I could bring myself to take my dogs anywhere else. I have had 2 of my dogs neutered here, soon to be 3 - once he heals his broken leg (which they are also treating him for.) The women and men

Absolutely amazing! The staff is very professional, helpful, fast and efficient. Even with my pup being very hyper and vocal, they made sure to help us out as much as possible. You do have to wear a mask in the building but you get to go back with your pet. Another pro is it’s very affordable and not price gauged liked other vets I’ve been to. They’re genuinely here for your animal and not the money. This vet is well worth the drive. Will be returning again for my pups needs.

Was searching for a new clinic since my go to vet made a habit of rushing our appointments and overlooking things to get to the next person. Today was our first time coming to TLC and I’m very satisfied with their services from todays visit. The doctor and vet techs were soo kind, thorough, and explained everything very well. They treated my baby soo good, and really made me feel like they care about their patients and that I can trust them with my little one. Prices are reasonable. Soo glad I gave this place a try. ☺️

We (our little boys included) love this place. It is well worth driving from the NE side of town. The staff actually talks to your pets as if they are theirs and very valuable. Other vets we have been to seem to be more money focused than finding what is wrong the first time, rather than making you go over and over because treatments were blanket treatments. We wouldn't trust our boys to any other place now that we have seen how amazing they are.

Very friendly Staff and facility!
They tried all they could to give my giant turtle the best care.
I appreciated all they have done. They even came outside to my Truck so that he wont stress out too much. Its not easy to handle a 83 pound Tortoise but they did everything in their power to give him the best treatment. Thank you all so very much for being TRULY AWESOME!!!

Overall they treated our fur babies great! The vet was knowledgeable and kind. The staff kept our dogs fed with treats. The facility was and modern and well kept.
Originally there was an error that was promptly resolved. The manager contacted us directly and offered apologies and resolution. Thank you TLC for your professionalism in resolving our issue. TLC has earned our business!

Always love coming here Dr. LARA is Amazing with my furr baby my girls and I really appreciate him. We've also came here with our dog of 14 years that unfortunately had to be put down here as well very sad moment and the staff was very VERY sweet with us after our lose 😢 THANK YOU for caring the way you all do for all these BEAUTIFUL angels. ❤

I miss Dr. JOHNSON. He took time and cared for all the fur babies. Unlike now where its profit over pet. My family has used Dr. JOHNSON for over 20 years. We had a dog that just died. No one could figure out why? Dr. J called us and asked if he could do an autopsy. Wouldn't charge, just to see what was going on. Now that's a caring Dr. Now they treat and street, no follow up, no checking in and the prices are high! They even charge for the tags. I'm so disappointed in a company that had such a great reputation.

El Paso doesn't have many options to choose from for Aviary Vets. I went off reviews and hours of calling each vet clinic. I appreciated their clear website although minimal info on the doc. I wish they'd state her years of experience and where she got her education and if she continues education. Always good to see and know. Anyhow, as a first time bird owner, I did a lot of research before adopting/purchasing a conure bird. I looked forward to learning how to hand feed a baby parrot. I am absolutely thrilled with service my puppy has received at TLC. From the time I enter to the time I leave, everyone takes such interest in taking care of my dog. They take their time and explain everything and answer all questions asked. Dr. Lara is absolutely amazing the way he takes care and treats my puppy. And people who have asked me about which vet I take my dog to, I highly recommend TLC. My sister began taking her pets there as well after I told her about the excellent service we receive.

I would like to start off with thanking Dr. Lara for all he has done. For how compassionate and knowledgeable he (Dr. Lara) is. This is also true for Lety, Patty & Beth. A few others of the original staff have left and I must say it's TLC's lost.
I will say I have taken my fur-babies to this location for EVERYTHING. I now have 2 out of the 3 fur babies that get care at TLC. We lost Buddy on Oct at age 12. Now we have two ages 11&6 yrs old. I have been bringing them here since their

Dr. Reyes is the best Veterinarian I have ever had for my Pup. We had recently moved here from NC to TX and I needed to find her a Vet to help cure her dermatological issue. Dr Reyes explained the treatment plan and was very loving to our Bubbles. We definitely would recommend her over and over again.

Dr. Reyes is an incredible vet. The entire staff are so good with my dog Alfie - he loves coming to the vet because of all the attention and love he gets! Dr. Reyes plays with my dog while he's being cared for and she takes the time to explain everything so I feel comfortable and understand what we're doing.

Waited over an hour in the waiting area before I saw the vet. I had brought my dog here they gave him some pain meds few days later he was getting worse neither time did they ask for a stool sample or take blood work I had to take my dog to another vet to find out after 3 weeks of suffering that he had a parasite. If the did blood work and stool samples maybe my fur baby would have been better sooner. This place Will drag out an illness to make u come back over and over. Shame on u!!!!

I seriously can't recommend Dr. Lara enough. He went slow, sat on the floor with our dog, wasn't afraid of him, even ate (yes, you read that right) treats with him, and took him for a walk around the building to build trust. By the time they came back from the walk it was like they were best friends. I was almost in tears I was so relieved. Our pup has IBD and Dr. Lara is open to any and all treatments and diets that are best for him, he spent over an hour discussing courses of action and gave us wonderful recommendations and resources. I have never felt so strongly enough to post a review before in my life until this moment. I have had dogs in the past but just got a new puppy. A corgi mix. Willow is different from other pets I have had. She truly is anxious and scared in dealing with new experiences and people. I live in the Dallas area and come every year to visit family in El Paso. I knew of places to leave her in Dallas but didn't want her to stay as long. We opted to take her with us on the road so we would have more time with her. I was so scared about leaving her anywhere since I was not familiar with any of the dog

My cat Cuddles had an emergency and they were able to see her a half hour later for only $45 for the examination. The environment is very clean, staff very friendly as well as the doctor who met with Cuddles. They were very concerned with her condition and were prompt to contact the locations of her previous animal hospital visits to receive more information. They are very reasonable with fees and they aren't far from my location. I will from now on come to this location where Cuddles felt very safe and comfortable.
