Jack O'Neill Restaurant and Lounge is now open for indoor dining. Come enjoy the best of Santa Cruz dining, and full ocean views. Our menu offers selections for the whole family and ingredients and libations all sourced locally. Jack loved Northern California for its beaches. We love it for its food, and for good reason too.

Regional ingredients drive our menu: Our fresh-caught seafood meets the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch sustainability standards, and our seasonal produce is sourced from a number of area farmers. It sets us apart from other downtown Santa Cruz restaurants; why go global when local does just fine?

I think this actually might be my first Google review ever… I was compelled to leave a review because this restaurant is without doubt ONE of the best tasting restaurants we’ve ever dined in. It very well may be the number one best tasting restaurant we’ve ever dined in, but I am not one to commit to such daring statements ;) My wife Rachel had the scallops, and I had the ribeye and both were 100% exquisite. Must taste to believe.
(A disclaimer out of fairness, this place is a memorial to the Jack O’Neill who founded O’Neill clothing, invented the wetsuit, and trademarked the name “surf

I had a great salmon dinner with a wonderful dessert. Shared with my sister, Mary Lynn Rounds. And her husband Fred!. Fortunately. We were able to "dine in" and enjoy the terrific view. Even though it was late and dark.

Prices are high, but food is delicious. No American sized portions lol, but left happy and content. I did the mussels for the appetizer, which came with 4. For my meal, I did prawns and pumpkin ravioli. Came with 4 prawns and about 6 ravioli pieces. It was delicious. It is $2.50 to add another prawn. Also, they have sourdough bread and you have to ask for it to get it.
Nice views and good drinks too.

Life is too stressful and hectic for everyone to continue on without a break. I think we all deserve one. The beach provided me with an escape after a month of hectic work and stress. Not knowing that I was waiting for a perfect breakfast at the O'Neill's.
There is an incredibly calm and peaceful atmosphere in this restaurant. This restaurant's enthusiasm and professionalism were evident immediately when I walked in. I was treated with warmth and professionalism that left me extremely refreshed. The restaurant's highlight is their balcony, which offers a beautiful view of the beach along with

We had a light lunch at the bar after arriving. We had the sliders and wings. Pretty good except way too much bbq sauce on the wings. The wait staff are really great. Dinner was not so great. The fish was cooked perfectly but the sides terrible. We barely made it too our room before, well lets just say we spent our night in the bathroom. In any case, we chose to leave without breakfast. Sorry to say, we won't return as the hotel was really nice.

We stayed at the Dream Inn and ate here two days in a row. The food and service were both exceptional. If you stay at a hotel or just in Santa Cruz it’s definitely a great great place for breakfast!

Food was so good and view of the ocean was exceptional.
We ordered the Banana French toast with dulce de leche sauce and crab Benedict with jalapeño hollandaise sauce. Titos bloody Mary was also note worthy.
