Cathedral Animal Hospital is an independent, female owned, integrative veterinary care clinic located in the historic St Johns neighborhood in North Portland. Integrative Medicine is a holistic approach that looks at a patient in their entirety, taking into consideration lifestyle, nutrition, health concerns, behavior, and exercise.

We strive to provide preventative health care plans that are specifically tailored to your pet and lifestyle knowing that each pet is an individual. Since animals age more quickly than people do, we are advocates of annual wellness exams for young animals and biannual for geriatric pets (older than 7 years old) in order to maintain maximum health with preventative care.

If you are having an emergency during our hospital hours, please give us a call. We may still triage you to one of the two local ER clinics that we recommend going to, but will be able to help you stabilize and transfer records to get the ER up to speed on your pet's medical history. Encase of an emergency after our hours, both CRVS and Dove Lewis are open 24 hours a day.

22 November 2021,had to have my 18yr old cat Princess euthanized. All the staff were very caring and compassionate. They let me have all the time I needed in the room with her before,during and after the procedure to comfort her and say my goodbyes. Prior to this visit they tried everything possible to keep her comfortable for her last few months.

First of all, I cannot say enough about our Doctor. Dr Grubb is the absolute best. Since joining the Cathedral Team, it has been spectacular. There has to be a truth of Great people attract great environments and team dynamics. I( am certain the rest of the Staff exemplify this tenor. Today, we interacted with Dr Grubb and her team, Dallas at check in and Uriel for direct pick up and transfer of our dear Greta Garbo who was having vomiting issues. Uriel had a calm upon initial contact and comforted Greta Garbo and ushered her into treatment. Care cannot happen without emotion and passion. Our Team

After waiting for 6 weeks for the appointment we were pleasantly surprised by the service we received. Our cats, Brian and Becky, are almost 19 years old. They were born in Jiangxi China in our flat. Although I haven't had my first appointment yet, I just got off the phone with Nick at Cathedral Animal Hospital. I am in a panic due to my (now previous) veterinarian's office not completing an order for my cat's prescription, and I am leaving town and the medicine won't be here in time. Although Cathedral Animal Hospital can't prescribe medicine without an exam first (for liability reasons) Nick took his time to explore other options with me to help me get my fur baby her medicine before I leave town. I immediately booked an appointment for her initial exam, and I am excited to work with Cathedral

Our first visit with Cathedral was about a week ago and I couldn't be happier with how they treated me and my 12 year old dog. My dog is super anxious and does not like change so going to a new vet was super scary. They treated her with care and made sure she felt comfortable and safe. The entire staff was friendly and made us feel very welcome. Dr. Victoria gave me a thorough explanation of treatment and allowed me the space to ask questions and be a part of my dog's care. Our first visit with Cathedral was about a week ago and I couldn't be happier with how they treated me and my 12 year old dog. I was very impressed with everyone I saw and talked to. They are warm, empathic, upbeat, responsive.. I really cannot say enough good about my experience. Ghost has a lot of anxiety about being picked up let alone put into a carrier. They were very helpful and understanding of our special boy and gave him some good stuff so he wouldn't be so anxious. Works beautifully! Always on time and very good with social distancing. You guys rock!

I would absolutely recommend the Cathedral Animal Hospital. I have not yet visited this location, but I have been to their Kenton location multiple times per recommendation from a friend. I got my cat on Easter, a rescue. She was an outdoor rescue, and it took many trips to get her feeling well. Each time they were extremely patient with both my weird schedule, and my weird, anxious, violent little gremlin of a cat. 10/10.

The owner of this animal hospital called us and canceled our cat's appointment with just a day notice because we left an honest review more than half a year ago for their Kenton location after a very bad experience there (we didn't know that it's the same owner of this hospital at the time of scheduling the appointment). All she cares about is revenue and selling expensive holistic treatments that don't really work.

WOW is what I have to say! I took my cat in for her shots and brought up my concerns of her increased thirst and urination. I was met with genuine empathy and support in finding out what was going on with my cat and was provided with several options for testing. Within days and in the two weeks following, I received a confirmed diabetes diagnosis… followed by several phone calls, email correspondences, and an appointment working with my partner and I on caring for our diabetic feline. The amount of support and psychoeducation I’ve received about treatment from Dr. Nikki and Dr. Lindsay
