I've heard a lot of good things about Bushido. When I finally made it here, it was not the best quality food for the price. For dinner, I tried the wagyu sando, chirashi bowl, and crab risotto. The disappointment was the risotto because it did not look like the picture and it was not served in the crab shell. The wagyu sando was very chewy as well. The chirashi bowl was my favorite part. It was very fresh and plated nicely.
Overall, the meal was good and I did like the ambience and the bar a lot. The service was great as well, but for the price, the food was not the best I've had.

New menu items at Bushido, and I'm definitely a fan! This Japanese Izakaya in Downtown Mountain View has a good variety of items that are perfect for sharing. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.
For starters, I'd recommend their Potato Salad! This is not your average potato salad! It has Japanese pickles, bacon, and is topped with aonori and crispy shallots. I love the added crunch you get from the crispy bits. One of their most surprising new items that I LOVED is their Trout Mimosa. Even though it's called a mimosa, it's not what you think! Rather than a drink, it

We originally went there for the wagyu sando and okonomiyaki. We were blown away by the wagyu sando and katsu curry! We had wagyu sando with truffles but I think having it alone is enough and keeps the pure taste of wagyu. Katsu curry was awesome and you can't go wrong with that combination. Okonomiyaki was a bit less than what I expected since there were not much sauce and maybe more than enough flour than I thought. Still worth a try and I'm sure it'll taste better with more sauce since I'm a sauce person. Uni crab risotto was super creamy, we took them home since we order

I love the new dishes! This restaurant has been around for a while and happy to see that they are revamping the menu!
The one classic dish you should always order is the Uni Crab Risotto! Perfect for sharing since its so heavy and rich.
For appetizers I recommend the wagyu Sando and the trout mimosa!
I was more of a fan of the new dishes than some of the ones they kept.
The rest of the menu, nothing stood out as much as the new items.

Cards on the table, I didn't think of a place for my boyfriend's birthday dinner so the day of I checked Open Table for any Japanese restaurants that had reservations at a reasonable time available and Bushido showed up. The menu looked good so I booked a table.
We were greeted right away by the host and our server. The system was slightly confusing as you can view the menu via QR code and add items to a list, but then have to repeat that same list to your server to input your order.
Between the two of us, we opted for 2 handrolls (happy hour deal - $5/each), chirashi with sashimi

First of all the staff is super friendly and attentive. Made me feel welcome and got me seated right away.
I came here for lunch and had the sashimi salad. The fish was super fresh and the yuzu sauce was bomb. I wasn't too hungry so only got an appetizer because I had an upcoming meeting nearby and had to kill some time.
Everything on the menu you looked so good, can't wait to come back for a more hearty meal and try a bunch more.

I've dined in here two times in the last couple of months and I've had a pleasant experience each time. I was able to try their new items on the menu and they were amazing! I enjoyed Sashimi Moriwase, A5 Wagyu sando, Abura Soba (dry noodles w/ egg yolk), Trout Mimosa, Uni Kani Risotto, and the Japanese potato salad (see photos). Our server was Sandy and service was great as each dish was described as they were dropped off. Ambiance is casual and chill so I felt comfortable dining in here and this will easily be my go-to sushi place in the area.

Felt sick after eating their sushi rolls. The trout tasted like rubber and spicy tuna looked like a mixture of goo and tasted fishy. Also why use trout when salmon is a perfectly viable option? The price is high and quality just doesn’t measure up. I normally go for the hot food which is decent but the sushi is just bad.

First time here Tuesday November 2nd, 2021. We arrived a little after 5PM with no reservation but seated right away. Waitress was very kind and informative. Wine and cocktails were good. Wagyu sando was incredible! The Kurobuta Pork Belly was so delicious. Spent about $172 between two people. Restaurant started getting very busy as we left. Outdoor seating is available. Castro street closed for outdoor dining.

Got their Mushroom Fried Rice and Uni Risotto, and was completely disappointed! There was only 1 small piece of uni in my risotto, and the mushroom fried rice was way too salty! My friend even said that it tasted like the typical Chinese food you get at those restaurants. And considering I paid $33 + tip/tax for risotto with barely any uni in it, that was definitely disappointing! Sad face.

The beef teriyaki here was AMAZING. Truly out of this world. It was cooked so tenderly with the perfect amount of smokiness to it. The chicken katsu was really good as well! The brushstroke roll was decent -- it had a unique and zesty flavor because of the lemon on top. Overall, this was very satisfying meal, and the cute outdoor seating setup only added to our enjoyment!

Outdoor seating, it can be a bit chilly at night.
Service is good. We ordered a small sake but they mistakenly gave us a big bottle. After we opened it and poured, we realized the mix up and the waitress gladly reordered for us without charging us the opened bottle.
The food is not bad. Particularly like the grilled beef tongue (fat version) as it came out in surprisingly big cubes but tasted crispy outside but really soft inside. The grilled pancake is also nice when I could taste the veggies inside. The trout mimosa is interesting and a bit surprising. It's great to have something so

There is option to sit outside also.
Service was a bit slow outside.
I tried okonomiyaki for the first but it was fine in taste. Over all experience was good.
One should try dynamite sushi for sure

TAIYAKIS with the 1 oz coffee pop up!
Nutella, blueberry, or vanilla custard! Made fresh!
1 for $3
2 for $5
3 for $7
Made to order! Delicious fillings but I wish they were more crispy! Very soft inside and out!
I love this idea, but in the time of Covid. Walking and eating is NOT recommended...
Because it is a pop up shop on the sidewalk, it was really tight in space. And the line is in the side walk and there's not much room to maneuver. Felt kind of uncomfortable.
ASK FOR A BOX! Makes it easier to eat!

Had the signature ramen before and was okay. But the dishes were nice! The pancake is rare to find and it was super good. You can even choose sauces half and half, though both were tasty! The seafood veg soup is really comfortable to have and the yuzu sauce is something you don’t want to miss. The red dragon maki was good as well with crispy prawn and kinky sauces.
Will definitely go back!

I went here on a Thursday where they have happy hour drinks all night. $6 for some interesting/unique cocktails was quite good, especially for the area. I got their shrimp tempura udon. The udon was good and the broth was very tasty (I drank all of it!), but the shrimp tempura was nothing special. Overall I'd recommend this spot, but more so for the drinks than food.

Pleasant surprise! Was taken here by friends and enjoyed it. We sat outside which I recommend although the street's quite busy. Enjoyed the chicken heart and thigh skewers, the pork and the cod bao and a plate of good ngiri. Had a pitcher of Sapporo. The only disappointment was the white chocolate fondue.

First time. Really liked the food. Place is cozy and service was very good too. Our waiter (a young guy) was very attentive. Prices were fair for Japanese food which tends to be on the higher end. I asked for a cocktail which was very good too (great price during happy hour!). Definitely will go back.
