Came by for an early dinner saturday night and the wait for two people wasn’t that bad— around 10-15 mins so we just walked down castro to kill some time. good pizza, pasta, and drinks but that’s just it. left feeling underwhelmed by the food for the price— might’ve been what we ordered?? but the mushroom pizza my friend got was a lot better than the pasta i had in terms of umami flavor i was expecting from the mushrooms.

One star for customer service, three stars for food, so we decided on two stars overall. We gave it several tries, as we are always seeking a solid, consistent Neopolitan style pizza place, plus we moved to an apartment about five minutes drive from Castro.
To give context, places we have tried for Neopolitan style in the peninsula area (Terun, Howie's Artisan pizza, Pausa, Vesta, Napoletana Pizzeria, Mozzeria food truck).
We have only done take out from Doppio 3-4 times, all during covid, and may consider dine in one of these days. We understand the items we ordered were not really made to-go

Really really great food. Highly recommend the croquettes, just the right amount to share and incredibly yummy. The ravioli was insanely flavorful, and the sauce was amazing. The Margherita pizza could have… been cooked a little more but the flavor was on point. And my favorite was the Pizza Napule which was like a fried calzone, and it was one of the most amazing things I've ever eaten. Definitely will be coming back again and recommend everyone else to try it out!

Solid place. The ingredients are high quality and sourced well. I think overall, the restaurant might be slightly overrated. Recognizing the challenging times might be cause to hurry, I wish the waiters took more time when we ordered to answer questions and provide better hospitality. The chorizo pizza was yummy.

If you’re looking for authentic Italian pizza - you should try Doppio Zero.
The pizza crust comes out slightly crispy on the outside, but soft and doughy on the inside like a classic Neapolitan pizza does. We ordered the Salsicca Pizza, which is highlighted by its spicy Italian sausage bits, and the namesake Doppio Zero pizza, which has excellent Proscuitto and Burrata cheese.
Burrata cheese is just fantastic. Super creamy with a nice mouthfeel. Unctuous. Delightful. Pleasurable, dare I say.

Came here on a Sunday dinner and was seated immediately! It was a nice day out and the seating outdoors was cozy. We got the fungus pizza and subbed the goat cheese with Burrata - honestly The pizza was a bit small and I could’ve eaten more but the thin crust and fresh mushrooms were great and the croquettes were super flavor packed as well! The waiters here were super patient and kind as well.

Nice dine in and dine out areas. the pizza is just incredible here. very nice dough, chewy, and leoparding on the pizza to give it a nice char flavor. you can’t really go wrong with any of these pizzas. the pastas are also fantastic. you can taste very good quality ingredients and meats. the pasta was perfectly salted and was a perfect al denté. the tomato sauce had a very nice fresh tomato taste. the pasta portions are slightly on the smaller side, but still definitely worth it!
