Had my main doctor leave Irondequoit animal hospital and start own business, and I wasn't disclosed😥 when my dog was 10 years old very upsetting. It's still a great vet the around a quiet animal hospital however when your dog is 10 years old that's when they need the most care and my dog always had problems so that was very upsetting to me. However; penfield veterinarian hospital definitely came through former and continues to. Thank you Dr. Braydon.

The staff here is very rude. Called about pricing for my cat to be neutered and was told "If you can't afford a pet, you shouldn't have one" not sure how asking how much something costs equals being poor. You can never get a straight answer when trying to schedule things or getting advice on health of your pets. Staff is not caring at all, called about my cat (who was a patient here) when he wouldn't eat or move and was barely drinking water. I was told if he hasn't stopped peeing it's not an emergency... My cat has since passed from kidney failure, I guess it was an emergency after all. Overly

Do yourself a favor and go someplace else. I brought my dog here when he was a puppy 10 years ago for his first rabies vaccination before moving out of state. A few years ago, I moved to South Africa with my dog and when I called this vet again to see if they could help with an international move (since Dr. Herrema is supposedly an international vet) I was told that moving a dog to South Africa was not possible – but another vet helped me successfully import my dog into South Africa with no problems. Just recently I moved back to the US and contacted this vet for a simple rabies certificate

Twenty years ago my visit didn't go well. Gave the place a second chance with our new puppy. Was amazed how this place really kept up with new tech like an app and emails to make sure you know what's going on with your pet. They also are very Covid ready when it's comes to your protection. Nice clean place.

I can't imagine taking my fur babies anywhere but to Penfield Veterinary. The office staff and techs are so professional and friendly. Dr. Herrema is absolutely exceptional!! His knowledge and expertise, along with his patience, compassion and caring , kind character put him in a league of his own. I have such peace of mind knowing the trust I have in him and everyone there! I've recommended clients and friends there and no one is ever disappointed!

We have been bringing our dogs here for over 20 years. the physicians are very professional, know everything and are mindful of the costs of services. Dr. Thornton is fantastic. She explained her reasoning for performing certain tests and what her thinking behind the diagnoses are. She reviewed several treatment options with us and made recommendations that were best for out dog and reasonable for us! We will continue to bring our pets here.

Penfield Veterinary Hospital is wonderful! We take our Pepper there....16 yrs old & a few issues related to age, but Dr. Braaton & Dr. Mueller are absolutely wonderful! I'm sure Dr. Herrema & Dr. Hawkins are, as well, but we have so far only seen Dr. Braaton & Dr. Mueller. Our little Pepper can be so frightened of certain surroundings & people, but she loves them. Pepper goes there for her baths & nail clippings, as well, & that staff is also awesome! We are so very pleased with everything about Penfield Veterinary Hospital, & highly recommend them to all
