Doral's Auto Repair is the premier automotive maintenance, service, and repair shop in San Leandro. We have recently added new capability - we can now provide a/c recharge using the new R-1234YF refrigerant. The old R-134a refrigerant is deemed unfriendly to the environment, so the new R-1234YF refrigerant was developed.
Brake pads are pretty simple in construction and function. They are made of friction material. They get pressed against the surface of rotors when braking. Because rotors are attached to wheels, the friction of the brake pads causes wheels to slow down. If you press the brake pedal long enough and hard enough, the car eventually stops.

Beware! We called Doral's today asking about getting a taillight bulb replaced. It's not a job that the average person can do. They quoted us a price of $200. We called a car dealer in Dublin who was able to get us in today and out the door in about an hour and charged us $44. Something is wrong when a dealer charges 1/5 of what this garage charges. Way overpriced.

I made an appt with Doral's to have my front passenger side window repaired as it was no longer working. I explained over the phone that I could hear noises from the motor located in the side front passenger door.

Updated review since we no longer choose Dorals for our car care. With the ownership change many things also changed. We were quoted a price for services needed by one person but when we went to pay the price was $300 more without additional work. Luckily I had the quote in writing.

I have been taking my cars to Doral's for years. That was the days when Roy and Ramon were running the shop. They were down to earth and fair in assesments and prices.
Doral's is under new ownership. Roy is no longer there and when he left so did the way business was conducted.

So we've been happy with Doral's service from the way back with all of our vehicles. The original owners, Roy (and his brother before him) ran a great shop. Rafael was amazing in customer service. But recently we felt just ripped off and inconvenienced. Even with an appointment, they had our vehicle in the shop for over 5 days before even starting the work. I needed some auto repairs so my boyfriend recommended a place and made me an appointment. We took my car to their previous location. Unfortunately, we found out that they didn't have the machine needed to fix my A/C.

I had a bad experience with a nearby dealership trying to charge me for repairs not need it on my 2012 Toyota Prius C (beware of dealership scams and always look for a second opinion). They ended up saving me $1,200 on repairs not need it on my Prius C.

However, Doral's has a massive amount of communication, not all of it useful. Like, who worked on my car? They surely deserve kudos too. When they have completed a diagnostic of your car, they send you an online review that you can look at before calling to discuss, which is really nice. Dorals is a really great shop. The owner John is very committed to making sure his customers are not just satisfied but, happy with their experience here. The front desk technicians are such honest, fun guys. David, Kyle, and Ann is such a sweetheart. Don't forget to grab some candy off her desk! My van is close to its deadline, however, Dorals has extended lifetime by taking good care of her. They wear masks now due to COVID, but, still find time to have a great conversation. Had our 1999 bmw (driven for fun) towed there for a loose ball joint , (my 17 year old daughter was driving it at the time) not only did they quote me at 2000 they also sprung the $200 technician fee to "release my own vehicle to me" before I could take it.
We had another repair shop close by their location who charged us $250 out the door.....steer clear of any mechanic shop who takes advantage of females or "unknowing customers".

I had a nail in my tire with hopes to get it patched. Called Doral's and got an appointment really easily. Went in, they took a look and sadly it wasn't patchable due to the location of the nail being too on the edge of the tire. David was very kind to explain my options for a new tire and I never felt like they were trying to oversell me anything and weren't pushy about extras to purchase. Doral's took my bad circumstance of needing a new tire and made it an easy and smooth situation. I plan to go back for future car needs!

It was thru a advertisment in San Leandro Times that I became a customer of Doral's, after the closure of my past independent auto repair shop in 2007. The repairs are warranted and always completed on time. The shop is clean and the owner Roy provides excellent customer care. Technician/Service Writer Rafael is professional and provides excellent service and advice.
