Longs Peak Animal Hospital
Longs Peak Animal Hospital, PC has been providing superior veterinary care for pets in Longmont, Colorado since 1971. Our veterinarians and remarkable support staff of technicians, assistants, and receptionists work together to provide a calm and stress-free experience for our patients and for you.

We attempt to condition our patients to see their visit as a positive experience with lots of love, direct attention, and maybe a few treats. And don't be surprised if our veterinarians spend most of the visit on the floor with your pet if they need to! We take the time to explain the medical process.
Services
Annual wellness exams provide a strong foundation for your pet's well-being. A general health assessment, vaccinations, and routine lab work all help to keep your pet healthy and happy for the fun and excitement that life has to offer. Caring for your pet's teeth can help to prevent future health problems.
To allow sufficient time for patient visits and surgical procedures, Longs Peak Animal Hospital, PC operates primarily by appointment. Our doctors always make a sincere attempt to see every patient on time. To prevent you from having to wait, we will always reach out and provide the opportunity for you to reschedule if an emergency case causes any appointment delays.
Our boarding facility is designed to keep all animals safe and secure in an environment free of harmful chemicals, noises, smells, harsh lights and unpleasant interactions. To ensure that your pet is kept in a clean, healthy environment, all dog kennels and cat condos are cleaned and disinfected daily.
Tired of coming home from a long day at work to find that your dog has plowed through the trash or eaten your favorite shoe? Bring your dog here! You can trust that they are being taken care of all day, enjoying the interaction of other dogs of like temperament, and having human companionship. Dogs can enjoy the daycare area playing, wrestling or just hanging out.
The Department of Agriculture requires us to only accept and administer medications from their original prescription containers while your pet is in our care. If you provide a prescription medication for your pet, and it is not in the original prescription bottle, we will not be able to administer that medication.

The staff here is very kind and attentive. I can schedule next day appointments with no problems usually! The veterinarians here are very very nice and really listen to any issues related to your pet. I can't recommend a better practice!

My Doctor was Kristin Hrenchir and she was definitely the rudest vet I've ever had. My cat was sitting nicely in the chair in the vet room when she entered. Without even saying hello, she made a rude remark about my cat getting hair on the chair, in the examination room. She didn't even give my cat an exam, she shoved a thermometer up her butt very abruptly and scared her, causing my cat to want to escape from her arms and it left the Vet with a little scratch. She then put her in the cage and said "yup, we're not doing this today". After that, I had to pay for the exam

The provider's and staff are always very helpful. We had to say goodbye to our 13 year old lab Maya. We felt well taken care of. They were very gentle and compassionate. Our Maya passed peacefully and she was surrounded with love.

Brought our dog in there for the first time. He’s generally very nervous and needs to wear a muzzle, but they did really good with him. They game him shots and drew some blood, and was still eating cheese out of their hands by the end of it, so I call it a huge success. They were very sweet with him.

This happened several months ago, but a recent conversation jogged my memory to write a review. We started out bringing our dog to LPAH when he was a puppy. As he grew older, he started getting chronic, severe ear infections that required frequent timely vet visits. We were having a hard time getting him in for quick appointments with LPAH, so we starting bringing him to Cambridge. After about a year with Cambridge, we were not very happy with the level of care there, so we decided to switch back to LPAH. We brought him in for something (maybe a checkup? Shots? some reason), and assumed that they

We boarded our dog here. Super friendly and accommodating to our dogs medication and food diet (he needed pumpkin added to his food). Overall will come back. Also lower prices compared to the prices my partner paid in Texas boarding for his dog.

We love this hospital. They are very compassionate and excellent with the animals. When our sweet dog Dudley was ill, they took great care with him and us. When he passed, Dr. Becker was so sweet and even called us to tell us how sorry she was. Wonderful vet.

My dog, Boomer, needed double TPLO surgery. The office end staff, Dr. Becker, and Dr. Gall all did an amazing job. In the time of a pandemic there was lots of phone tag to answer my questions and refill prescriptions but it worked out.

Wonder vets and staff! They have gone above and beyond for myself and friends. I had an emergency (freak accident at the groomers) on my old German Shepherd. They got us right in with no emergency fees. I've never had an issue and they are always warm and welcoming

I am assuming that the reason Longs Peak refuses to release Billy Dog's immunization records to the absolutely fantastic Arapahoe Animal Hospital has something to do with my bad review of Dr. Meyer.
This facility cannot stop digging themselves into holes.
Bad experience with us?
We'll double down.

To Steven B. At Longs Peak Animal Hospital
I have just read Dr. Hilling's report concerning Isabel's illness and prognosis and just so you and everyone else understands, I STAND BY MY REVIEW of your vet facility as is originally posted!
Please also be advised that there is information in Hilling's report that is not quite true or accurate according to my conversation with her over the phone in late July of 2017. The real story behind Isabel's kidney disease and her veterinary care is one long series of oversights, inconsistencies and missed opportunities for better treatments

I had to bring my puppy in on an emergency basis. He ate a sock and could have ended up in real trouble. The hospital was closing but they willingly stayed open to take care of the problem. They were good about following up to ensure he was okay and we knew what symptoms to look for in the future. Thanks for helping out with a precarious situation!

Long time client at Longs Peak Kennel.

Things seemed to change a couple of years ago. Don't know if ownership or policy changed. Quality of care changed. Dogs were injured, unfed, but it had not happened to us until recently. Time to move on. Not a good place if you have a dog that needs care.

I took my cat to this hospital on a Saturday. He had a bite of some kind on his leg. They felt confident that the leg could be saved. On Sunday evening my husband (having two parents who are doctors) asked that they remove the leg because his condition was getting worse by the hour and he was in intense pain. We were assured that they could save the leg and wanted to give it a few more days. On Monday, the skin and muscle turned black down to the bone and his leg literally exploded with blood and pus when I had to move him. It was heartbreaking to see him in so much pain.

On Tuesday, they told

I will start by saying this is my first Yelp review. I use Yelp often but never bothered to do any reviews. That being said, I'm doing this review to express my overwhelming frustration and overall disappointment of this vet clinic.

I took my dog here after she lacerated her paw. I spent nearly $1,000 on stitches, staples and surgeries and 6 weeks later my dog was never healed. The part of this story that irritates the most is that I was told she was healed/healing- this never happened.

Unprofessional and inconsistent service. I saw a different vet at each visit and it seemed as though

Dr. Russell is the most AMAZING VET I have ever met.

I have an old 12 year old dog who has been having some issues lately. She recommended appropriate X-rays and an Ultrasound to really see what was going on. What we discovered is that there would be nothing else we could do except pain management. My dog has gotten back a "pep back in his step!"

The reason I'm taking the time to write this review is because Dr. Russell didn't just prescribe a month's worth of pills and move on. She literally has checked in on my dog and family every two weeks to see how things

Debra Davison is a horrible vet. Do not let this woman treat your pets. She almost killed mine by rushing into a diagnosis which was incorrect. We took our dog in as he had been sick (vomiting, no appetite, lethargic, etc) for a few weeks. The hospital took four x-rays - none of which showed anything unusual or abnormal. However, Davison became convinced, despite no actual proof, that my dog had some type of obstruction in the stomach or intestines. Instead of taking time to run all appropriate tests and consider all options, she practically forced us into a $3500 exploratory surgery. I even asked

I will say, I trust Dr Meyer with the big things. I also love Dr Mones. Dr Wunder is fine, but I don't recommend Dr Davison nearly as much. Maybe just a personal preference. Yes, as with a lot of vet offices, the people who answer the phone could take some lessons on being more kind and less rude. Some of them are great but there are a couple that just make me want to hang up and never call back.

They are expensive - especially their spays and neuters- they are outrageously priced. But again, I trust them way more than a spay/neuter clinic or something like that. I have had a pretty serious

As a former employee this may be a tad biased.

Dr. Laura Myer owns and runs the place. I respect her intelligence and due diligence and have seen not only her but other doctors stay over night to watch over very ill animals to monitor them through the night. They pull out mats and sleep on the floor right next to some of the animals. To me this is rather impressive. Don't expect them to do it with your pet, but I give them credit when they do choose to stay. Dr. Myer can also be abrasive and sometimes does not come off as the most compassionate person - she tries. If you are NOT caught up
