I love Thai food and was excited to check this place out during my trip to St. Simons Island. While the staff here were great, unfortunately, I can't say the same about the food. For dinner, we ordered Drunken Noodles, Pad See Ew, and the Tom Yum Goong soup. The latter was overloaded with mushrooms and lemongrass, and didn't quite taste like Tom Yum Goong. Both entrees were sweet and had way too many noodles than proteins and veggies. Most of the noodles were also stuck together, and the entrees just did not taste like authentic Thai food. I'm giving this place three stars only because

Ugh. Nice wait staff and decent pad thai. But crispy duck drowning in mediocre sauce is soggy, rubbery skinned, wet duck. Yuck. Inedible noodles tasted like bad breath. Fried Sushi roll appetizer that finally got to table after main course was served was cold and gross. Table was super sticky. Get it together!

We were craving Thai food so we stopped here for lunch. Mind you, the outside looks a little sketchy, but once inside we were pleasantly surprised. Very clean and super friendly server (Amy)!! Ordered the Volcano Chicken and the Drunken Noodles w Chicken. The food was awesome!!! Just the right spices and flavors!! We would definitely go back!!!!

Salmon nigiri tastes like bleach. no joke. BLEACH!!!! the rainbow roll looked like the toppings were chewed before being served and were ice cold so clearly not fresh!!! plus it was a tiny square on top of the roll not wrapped around at all. Super nice people but GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Food is NOT good!!!

Great sushi (we got the Ebi roll, lobster roll, and Crispy Shrimp roll) all around but the ebi roll was definitely the best. We also got the salad with an incredible ginger dressing. It was really good all around, and there are definitely different things we'd love to go back and try-- we'd 100% get the ebi roll again.
The staff was nice and we couldn't really tell how they're handling covid (limiting capacity, sanitation, etc.) because we were there for a 2 o'clock lunch. They were wearing masks and were very courteous.

Tara Thai rocks. Absolutely wonderful. This is as authentic as it gets. We had the pad Thai with chicken and yellow curry with chicken.
Tara team were pleasant. With one minor hiccup, they bent over backwards to resolve it. Made us feel like we were the most important customers. Can't say enough about our experience with Tara Thai!

Would always recommend! We had dumplings as appetizer and 4 different sushi rolls. Everything was absolutely fresh and tasted fabulous. The different kinds of rolls we chose paired up well and we were 100% satisfied. The waiter was very friendly, always at hand, but never in our business which made us feel very comfortable. Very clean place and nice people. Thank you for the great experience.

I love this place. The food is amazing every time. I don't understand why it's not more crowded because it's such a great place. Evan was our waiter A+ thank you! The Asian salad is a great way to start, really enjoy the ginger dressing because it's more flavorful than other ginger dressings I've had.

Pretty good! 911 roll was awesome but was room temp (not a big deal to me but some might be weird about it). Pad Thai wasn't the best but not too shabby. My mom had the drunken noodle which she said was great and we shared a mango sticky rice which was awesome! The didnt have corona or miller lite which is weird but got a blue moon. We went at about 5:30 and place was totally empty. Would recommend!

The two times I came here, the place wasnt busy so we got seated very quickly. Its a mix of thai/japanese food. BIG fan of pad thai & i must say, it was delicious. Sushi was on point too. Lots on the menu to order from and everything we ordered was good. Oh try their specials... if youre a big fan of duck, the crispy duck was tasty!

My friend and I ate at Tara Thai last night to fulfill our sushi cravings, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We met one of the co-owners, and he was very attentive and extremely engaging in conversation (though my friend later told me she wished the conversation part was turned down a notch). The indoor ambiance was very classy and well decorated with a fireplace that I wish had been lit. They do have a full bar with a limited selection of beer as well as a variety of wines and cocktails.
