Services
We have dined here for lunch many many times. The best deal is the CAPTAINS PLATTER for about $30, easily feeds 4 adults. Skip the salad & appetizers, way overpriced and very small portion. Service varies dramatically, and can be extremely slow, but the food is really good when it comes out. Resist the temptation to get just shrimp or scallops or a combo plate, and get the CAPTAINS PLATTER.

High price fried food! The staff are rude plus you waited for along time to have someone wait on you! Its like you walk in the door and the staff are like what do you want. sorry if it wasn't for customers you wouldn't have a job! They need lower there prices for the slow fried food and get better staff that likes their customers!!

Went there last week. We were supposed to meet friends for brunch at 11am. (Their opening time). They had a note ( a bit of gray cardboard that you could barely see )that they would not open until 11:30. After waiting, and they let us in, they did not apologize for the late opening. the worst thing was that we told our server had a Dr. appointment at 1pm. We thought that would be plenty of time, if they had opened on time. The server said " I can't make the cook cook any faster" - did not offer to say she would tell the chef. WORST WORST thing. She then went to another table of 6 and took all of

No frills, no aspirations. Good food at a great price, served hot and quick with a smile.
They have oysters. Not six kinds of oysters served five ways. Sweet tea? Of course.
If none of this rings a bell it may not be for you. If you like a truly local restaurant with a freshly prepared menu at Cap'n D's prices- this is it.

Arrived at 5:40 pm (Memorial Day Weekend) waited 40ish minutes and was given a wait time of 30-40 minutes.
The server was on her game and did amazing considering she had half the restaurant, which was about 50 people she was serving. Definitely understaffed, but took into account the Covid employee shortage.
As you can see the kids drink aren't included in the $9.25 meals which are not child size at all. You get your money worth but we are talking about kids meals.
The biggest issue was we ordered the Captain Platter

Excellent seafood, plentiful portions, and great service - the shrimp were nice and crunchy, the tartar & cocktail sauces great, and the coleslaw excellent! The deviled crab was pretty much standard. The collards, mac & cheese, and hush puppies were VERY good! They also have a well equipped bar. :-D The waitress kept our glasses full and met all our demands for condiments, etc. with a smile & quick service. We really enjoyed our seafood experience and family friendly atmosphere!
