Very nice atmosphere looking out at Main Street in Chatham. Serviceer was pleasant. Clam chowder was a nice thickness and flavor. Was excited about the Chatham fish reuben but was very disappointed. The fish tasted like fast food frozen fish and the bread was sliced thick amd was hard and over toasted. The french fries, however, were excellent!

We had a wonderful lunch. Our waitress was wonderful, the wheelchair access was good. The clam chowder, loaded potato Flatbread and pumpkin cheesecake were delicious!

Reservations are very wise. We didn't have them so waited 40 min in the small bar. Good infusions and great personalities behind the bar as well as waitstaff with a great sense of humor. Food is spot on and desserts excellent too. Perfect front porch dining.

The atmosphere was okay, but a little bit too open for me. I would suggest putting in more booths for privacy. The food was just okay, too. The only thing I really liked was the french fries that came with my chicken and spinach burger. I thought the chicken would be a solid piece of broiled or grilled chicken, but it was ground chicken and the consistency was not like a normal meat patty, it was kind of soft and mushy. I didn't think it was worth the $18.00 I paid for it as one of the "lunch specials".
My wife got a "Salmon and rice bowl" for $24.00. It was okay, but again, not worth the price

While visiting Chester MA for an outside window shopping afternoon, we came across this restaurant. It was an eye catcher with it's quaint decor. Though it was a chilly, misty day, they had outside porch seating with a ceiling heater pointed our way. Made our dinning safer (Covid precautions) and comfortable. It wasn't busy at all but our waiter wasn't very friendly at first but professional (during this time of employee shortage, we were extremely/overly polite so later on he was a bit more kind).
I had the Chicken Versela (Pan seared chicken breast, capers, artichoke hearts

Listen, this is the best restaurant you'll ever go to if you take the time.
My friends and I (5 of us) went to the Wild Goose Tavern on our girl's week and had the BEST meal of our vacation here. (So good we even went twice).
Here's some things to know....

If you go... you need to order the goose fries. These fries will change your life. You will DREAM about these fries.
The first time I went... I got a cheese burger. It was amazing. (Also if you ask for a side of the cheese they use on the goose fries, they'll bring you a bowl of it.)
The second time I went... I got clam

Creative menu and the outdoor deck, though small and hard to get, is a great option.

So disappointed in the quality of the food. Our table ordered calamari, Caesar salad with salmon, swordfish, and baked fish - no one enjoyed their dinner. We won't be back

It's a really pretty spot on Main St, which is why we stopped for dinner. We were seated in a back room next to the bathrooms with a plastic table. Not what I expected but was hoping the food would make it up for it. I ordered the grilled seafood special which was underwhelming, at best. My husband had fish and chips, which was ok. My daughter had plain pasta, which is hard to to mess up, so she was happy. The french fries were good and the waitress was nice. Overall, I expected a cozy table at a pretty old tavern with good food. I'm unlikely to return.

Our waitress was super sweet and made amazing recommendations. The mussels were out of this world delicious and my kids loved the special treat after they finish their kids meals.

Good social distancing. This is the first time I ate indoor in over one and a half years, and I felt very safe. They are also the only place in downtown Chatham with outdoor dining space. Friendly service, not too slow, overall, I'm very satisfied.

I recommend the lobster bisque 100%. Big chunks of lobster meat, and not overly salty. It was a tiny bit oily for my taste but overall really good. I think their oysters are a bit overpriced. If you want the freshest Wellfleet oysters, I recommend trying out Mac's Shack in Wellfleet, or other restaurants in the Wellfleet area. My boyfriend

We got a table on the their back-side patio and it was great for outdoor dining. The service was excellent. Would recommend Lobster bisque, Mediterranean salad and flatbread. The kids enjoyed the food too and the cookies and cream icecream sandwich that comes with the kids meal.

We enjoyed our meal at Wild Goose, the drinks made by the bartender were very good. The atmosphere is pretty good here and that makes up a big part of the experience, the food was solid but I wanted a little more flair, some sauce or seasonings with some of the components, a whole head of broccoli steamed in a plate was a little plain. The Crabby Salmon was very good, they nailed the main proteins. I just couldn't help feel like I had just eaten at a 200 seat wedding. I'm coming back for a dirty martini though.

The Goose is terrific!! You can easily make a dinner out of appetizers (don't miss the tempura shrimp), or choose among the terrific variety of entrees, including a really good lobster roll. It's all well prepared, the service is warm & welcoming, and the kids menu has all the standbys you need plus a few extras like a chicken Caesar salad which one of my kids loved. Can't say enough good things--it's rock solid with something for everyone.

Great service. Great food. Overall great dining experience. Everyone at our table was extremely pleased. Walked in with no reservations...only a 45 minute wait on a very busy evening. Very happy we came here.
🦐 Raw Bar was great. 🍸 Main Street Mule was made perfectly. 🍽 Mermaid Delight is highly recommended.
🌟 The Garden Patio seating was a bonus.

Easily the best meal we had while staying in Chatham (we were here for a week in June 2021).

We ate outside on the rear "bluestone" patio. Server was helpful and friendly.

Looks nice from the outside, but since we had to wheel in our disabled 3 year old in a stroller, they put us in a plain, empty function room away from all other people (ironic since my daughter is quiet and can't run around). On the plus side we had plenty of room, but it turned out to be a little lonely and dull. Minus one star for ambiance.

The historic building, location, and prices on the menu suggest a fancy place, but they don't even offer you bread for the table - just one of the reasons I'd call it overpriced rather than fancy. Minus another star.

I would describe the

While the service is friendly and prompt the food was abysmal. I ate the Shrimp Tostados - the shrimp was good, the rest inedible. The avocado purée was old and sour. The salsa also old and sour. The black beans were drowned in lime juice all of which was on top the tostada which became a soggy mess. The rest of our party faired no better. The food needs a serious overhaul.

This was our first time visiting the Cape and while enjoying a pleasant stroll along the main street, we decided to stop for lunch before heading to Chatham Light and Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge.
Walking by this beautiful historic building, we caught a glimpse of the menu featured by the front door. The blackened fish tacos with mango chutney caught my eye while hubby eyed the fish and chips.
Each of these entrees were fantastic. The fish of both were light, flaky, and wonderfully flavorful. The wait staff friendly, courteous, and very helpful. While there were quite a few people enjoying

My family and I dined here. I have a disability and service animal. I was asked what my disability was when I was at the front desk making the reservation. I know that is illegal but I felt so uncomfortable and we were hungry...that I whispered it.

My dog is only 6 pounds and new to our family. He honestly did make a low bark a couple of times and I still do not know why. We were seated outside on a porch and the only patrons that interacted had said they liked his vest.

The manager approached our table and said that service animals are not supposed to bark and if it happened again we would

We biked the Cape Cod Rail Trail to Chatham center and stopped here for lunch. Waited about 25 minutes to be seated outside. Unfortunately, we weren't in the sun and got chilly fast. However, the staff were so accommodating, they turned on the heating lamps for us and checked in to make sure we warmed up. Their fall drink menu was AMAZING. Food was good too!

Had lunch outside - the patio was great and we really enjoyed our meal and the time outside. Be prepared for a wait, but put your names down and walk around and come back cause the experience is worth the wait! We got the home fries with the smoky Gouda cheese sauce (it was so good!!!) the garden Benedict, fish tacos, Cesar salad with steak tips, and the avocado tacos. The Benedict and the tacos were awesome! Great ambiance and great food would absolutely come back!

Interestingly my family is from Chatham and the Wild Goose Tavern held many a memory for us. I recently brought my family for lunch. The food itself was so far under par, I was a little more than shocked. I had the fish sandwich ($15.95) which the fish was obviously frozen and the bun was stale. We also ordered a chicken Caesar and the chicken was so old and dry it simply couldn't even be cut let alone eaten.

Really disappointing, seriously need to consider a new head chef that actually cares about what they serve.
