Wendy Knight and Sarah Bowman. Over the past several years, they have worked hard to assemble a team of caring, compassionate and highly skilled veterinary professionals that share the same dedication of delivering the highest quality veterinary care while also building strong and lasting client relationships.
Dentistry - Taking care of your pet's teeth has a direct effect on overall wellness, and CityPaws offers dental procedures and services to support your pet's oral health. Surgery - From minor procedures such as spays and neuters to more complicated surgeries, you can rest assured knowing your pet is in good hands.
When you know your pet is doing well, you'll do anything to keep your companion healthy and happy. Similar to humans, animals are healthiest when they undergo routine maintenance. There is virtually no condition that is easier to cure than it is to prevent, and CityPaws Animal Hospital knows this well.
Though prevention is always the best medicine, there may be times when we must intervene to treat your pet. In these situations, it's important to act quickly and with precision. Even the smallest problems can become much more serious if intervention does not occur. Dentistry - Though dental care should be primarily preventive, we are happy to treat cracks and fissures and offer basic procedures such as extractions.
Your pet could experience many health issues that are not easily diagnosed or observed. However, thanks to advances in veterinary medicine, we are now able to examine your pet more closely than ever before. At CityPaws, we have the ability to perform a wide variety of diagnostic tests, both routine and otherwise.

This was my first time visiting an animal clinic in DC. I had a really good experience. Everyone was very friendly and warm and as soon as they saw me waiting outside in the cold with my cat, they took him inside and tried to set up a heater for me outside. They were pretty good in terms of Covid practices and I felt very comfortable. They also handled my cat really well, gave him his shots and check-up, and were very affectionate towards him. All in all, they put my mind at ease and were very helpful.

Vet's are great, it's just unfortunate that the gatekeepers to vets aka staff are not great. Rude, unhelpful. Literally like pulling teeth to schedule an appointment. I called to make an appt for annual check up - voicemail says to email directly for quicker and more efficient scheduling. Staff responded to my email (apparently they weren't too busy to immediately respond to my email) and told me to call them to make an appointment. I email the vets with my general questions and they respond same day. If the doctors are able to respond in a timely manner I find it hard to believe that the staffers

Set an appointment, called to let them know I would be a few minutes late (not great, I know). Was told if I arrived within the 10 minute grace period, they would see me. This turned out to be incorrect; they refused to see me even though I did in fact arrive within 10 minutes. I told them I had called on the way to clarify that they would see me, this is why I called. But they went back on their word regardless.
I also was frustrated that when I made this appointment, I requested extra time to discuss issues with my senior dog. I was more than happy to pay extra if that means receiving attentive

While my one visit with Dr. Heller proved that she is a great and kind vet, I’ve had multiple struggles with the CityPaws staff. It takes an incredibly long time to get an appointment, be it routine or an emergency. I called asking to be seen same day for my sick dog and was told they wouldn’t be able to see me for over a week. I find it very hard to trust a practice that isn’t able to fit in an emergency for over a week (especially when the owner is crying on the phone out of desperation). Going forward, I’ll be looking for a vet who is able to be more prompt and responsive to a dog’s

I know businesses have to make measures in order to be flexible with the pandemic. But CityPaws is a pure example of how to do everything wrong. After a long wait outside waiting for my appointment, they want you to call from outside to the lady that's sitting right on the counter. Problem is, she's always on the phone and won't hang up to answer your call to get inside the appointment.
A member of staff came out and I asked her if I really had to keep calling on the phone when the receptionist is evidently busy with something and I'm here with a proof of the appointment and she reprimands me

We've been taking our dogs to this location since it opened, and have had varied quality of care. The reason we stuck with them as long as we did is that one of the Drs had good bedside manner with our very anxious dog, but at this point the other issues are too much.
The front desk has always been difficult, and scheduling/basic phone skills seem to be an issue. My partner and I have been given different information on more than one occasion. At one point I was called back, to make an appointment, and after the person on the phone spent a few minutes trying to pull up their calendar (remember
