I have been taking my cat and dog there and the veterinarians have been nice, and the staff as well, until recently. Due to the pandemic and all the new puppies they are probably swamped, so I haven’t been able to get an appointment and have been going to Friendship Animal Hospital and VCA SouthPaws. I did, however, take my pup there this morning for wellness exam. I was late, walked in and apologized and said I had an appointment. The woman at the front desk said if you are 15 minutes late, you will have to reschedule. No good morning, no nothing. I looked at the time, it was barely 10 minutes

If you decide to take your pet here, whatever you do, don't accept an appointment with Dr. Rosen. She will ask you the same question 6 or 7 times, probe endlessly into how the pet on the examining table gets along with other pets in your household, and drag the appointment on and on while your animal is getting increasingly stressed by being in a strange environment for so long. And in the end, you don't get help for the physical problem that brought you there. You do get a very big bill.

Today I was walking my dog and he started pulling on his leash. I was confused before I realized we were across the street from Dupont Circle Veterinary Clinic. My pup loves the people at the clinic so much he WANTS to go to the vet! It shows how well the staff takes care of him.
As for quality of care, he’s gone here since he was 9 weeks old - they got him fully vaccinated on schedule during a very busy time and have taken in him for same day appointments when I have concerns. The clinic also did his neutering procedure and he healed quickly with no complications. He primarily sees Dr. Jones

I came to Dupont Vet on a recommendation from a friend and I have been very pleased with the care my cats have received over the last two years. My 15-year old has had quite a few health issues since I adopted him three years ago, and DVC has been very helpful in working with me to figure out what is going on. They also did an excellent job on the neuter and care for my 2 year-old and have always remarked on how well behaved my cats are when they come to visit :)
On COVID-19 precautions, while a little frustrating to not be in the room with the vet to point out issues over the past year, I understand

It breaks my heart because I’ve been coming here for years and like the doctors. They have taken on way too many new patients and don’t leave enough time for emergency appointments so you can go days waiting for an appointment or have to go to the hospital (and spend thousands of dollars) on what could have been solved with a 5 minute exam and a prescription.
I’ve been 0 for 3 in getting an emergency appointment over the past 18 months.

The reception staff have always been friendly and supportive, when I’ve called in concerned about my pup throwing up, they gave me some great advice over the phone which helped without me having to bring him in. Dr Dan has also always been an amazing vet to my pup and genuinely cares about him and always provides great advice on how to keep him socialized and healthy.

We have taken our pup here since 2013. It's not cheap, but it's still great value. They remember us and her, treat her with the utmost care, and are super knowledgeable and patient. Absolutely recommend them.

Seem to have taken on too many clients. My dog had a mild infection in one ear, a simple 10mins or less type appointment and send home antibiotics . The receptionist said it would be two weeks before they could get him in, then she had the audacity to suggest I take him to another hospital that is somehow different than a ER (no idea what this is, cheaper?). Sending established clients to other clinics for routine appointments???? Its what you do!!!!! I expected a couple days at most to get my dog in.... TWO WEEKS?! Stop taking on new patients, start caring more about the well being of current

I have been taking my pets to the Dupont Veterinary Clinic for many years and am extremely satisfied. Their service has consistently been better than others I have gone to. Everyone that I have interacted with over the years has been respectful, compassionate, patient, and responsive. I have always felt well taken care of.

I just had a very bad experience at this clinic. I was running late for my appointment and I called in advance to let them know. I was informed on the call that depending on how late we were, we might be asked to reschedule. I felt that this was a completely fair disclaimer. I ended up being 15 minutes late. When I called to say I had arrived, the staff informed me that the doctor could still see my dog, but because I was so late the doctor would not speak with me. I was pretty upset by this approach. I tried and failed to explain to the staff that I would have preferred that they say they could

RICHARD COHEN, PRACTICE MANAGER, was rude, offensive, and insensitive.
I have been unemployed by COVID since March 2020 and thought I could ask about payment options when the procedures cost hundreds more than was estimated. I saved up as much as I could but was understandably strained.
Shockingly, in a very accusatory tone, RICHARD COHEN asked why I don't already have the money upfront when an estimate had been given in advance. I was shocked into silence by his inappropriate tone and more inappropriate question. If an upfront payment is the only option, he absolutely could have told me this

Another great experience with DVC and Dr. Dan, even with covid protocols leaving me on the sidewalk, Dr. Dan gave my pup lots of love (getting down on the floor with her), and phoned me to provide a full, helpful report.

Do NOT take your pet here. I just took my pug in for a wellness visit that included a nail trimming. When my dog came out, her foot was profusely bleeding from the nail and paw pad. I called the clinic to ask why this happened and the woman at the front desk tried to gaslight me into believing her injury was inevitable for a regular nail trimming. This could have been avoided if they took the time and care to avoid cutting her nails too short- but they didn't. When I asked if the nail trimming could at least be removed from my bill, the front desk woman was extremely rude and hung up on me

This is ridiculous. You can't accompany your animal into the appointment. I understand people are worried about COVID. But this is ridiculous. I can eat in a restaurant, get a hair cut, go to a medical appointment, post office, fly in a plane. But no. Can't go in for a vet appointment. Ridiculous. Def didn't see this on the CDC.website

Critical: Quality
Very disappointed in the level of care from DuPont vet. We have a very anxious rescue, and I would have expected staff to be more kind and not label her as "bad" as I expect more from animal caregivers. We will not return, and would not recommend if you want to feel you can trust your vet to take kind care of your pet.

From my 1st visit to my 4th visit to Dupont Vet Clinic for Hercules (my new puppy) vaccines and neuter procedure. Service was outstanding!

After having a bad experience at one of the local Vet Clinics in the area. I decided to try Dupont Vet Clinic. Scheduling my first appointment online, to Hercules last appointment for a while. The service was professional with empathy.

Upon arriving for Hercules 1st Visit (a very cold day), the Front Desk Asst. advised that a Vet Asst. will be out shortly to get Hercules. I truly appreciated the Vet Asst. came out right away which was a relief and took Hercules

At this point, I'm pretty livid. Firstly, the vets seem knowledge and I trust their opinions. They are thorough in their examinations. What is lacking is the follow-through and customer service. I took my senior dog in 5 days ago. He is not doing well and I expected to hear from the vet with his results. I called 4 times between yesterday and today. The lab results are in and the vet was also in, but I did not receive a call from him. This is also after the front desk people apparently don't know how to call an Rx into Costco. They tell me that Costco doesn't stock the med, when

I have had very good experiences with this clinic. I have noticed that it has become more difficult to get a timely appointment, likely due to the number of people that have gotten pets during Covid. It is a bit expensive, but comparable to other places in the area. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the staff here!

The staff and vets are professional, attentive, and genuinely care about your pet. However, do think twice before buying any medication directly from them. A generic drug they just prescribed for my dog cost me $70+ at the DuPont Vet Clinic, while online sources price the same drug and quantity at $20. I support local businesses and understand that local prices will inevitably be higher, but this clinic’s med prices should not be 3.5x higher than other pharmacies. Again, this is a great place to get care for your pet, but please do your research on medicine costs before handing over your credit

I find Dupont Veterinary Clinic to be an average service. There are better places to go to but at the same time, there are definitely worse places to go. In my opinion the prices are fair, nothing too crazy. The staff is kind and works effectively and efficiently. However, the reason why I though to only give this business three stars is due to how nothing stood out to me. I did not find anything that sets apart this business from another. This is just an average day at the vet, nothing outstanding but also nothing horrible.

I am very happy with the Dupont Veterinary Clinic team. The vets I have worked with (Dr. Rosen and Dr. Randall) have always gone above and beyond to help out, answer questions, and be readily available for a consult or a phone call.
I am also extremely satisfied with the front desk staff. They make it so easy to make appointments (by phone or email), check-in and out, pick up prescriptions etc.
I highly recommend this practice for your furry friend.

Wonderful actual clinical care from the vets. They go above and beyond and have be articulate and flexible with my pet. As for the vet techs and the customer service of the people answering the phones...that is unfortunately abysmal. If you can find a way to deal with the front desk to get to the vet, I'd say this place is worth going to, but prepare that the kindness and professionalism of the people answering the phones will shock you and then ultimately try your patience. Clinical care - wonderful. Location - fantastic. Front desk professionalism - 1 star.

Horrible place. Don't entrust your dog to these deplorables.

Grooming first: for no good reason they cage your

TERRIBLE. GROOMER IS UNSKILLED, UNCORDINATED
OR JUST COSTS THE EARTH. $190 for cut and bath and work stinks. Have to take my poor dog to another groomer to clean up the mess.

Medical "Services": my dog's annual physical took less
Than 3 minutes. I timed it. The techs are too incompetent to draw blood. I was billed $300+ for NOTHING.

BTW: you never, ever get out the door for less that $300. The products they

Love Dupont Veterinary Clinic and their team. My cat Nutmeg Has received excellent care from Dupont over the last two years, including regular visits and diagnosis and care of several chronic conditions.

Excellent place to go for vet care; vets are kind, professional, and ultimately help you and your pet through sometimes difficult times.

They also have an app through which you can access all your pets' records, and an online store to purchase any vet prescribed foods or medications that is easy and convenient to use.

Update to my already 5-star review: can I give y'all 6 stars?

I have been coming here for 5 years, since my dog was 12 weeks old. Several of my friends recommended Dupont Vet Clinic without hesitation. My dog, Ollie, is a trembling, always scared rescue mutt, and he has consistently received the best of care from the many gentle hands that work here. He always gets nervous around new male humans, so when I communicated that to the clinic, they made sure he always had a female technician. This is critical and so considerate of them; it would otherwise be impossible to draw his blood or give

PROFITEER WARNING for most pet owners, man's best friend is another member of the family and deserves the best care, but you need to be alert to profiteers, some of the veterinarians at this place are out to make an extra buck, they pad the bill with unnecessary tests and procedures. Speaking from experience, I suggest you approach this otherwise excellent veterinary clinic with caution -- never hurts to question your doctor so why not your dog or cat's.
