Right away, I knew I was in for something different. My workouts were stepped up dramatically. Not only were my one-on-one sessions intense, but Tom made sure that each and everyone was always fresh, exciting, and-most importantly-fun. After nearly 1 years working with Tom, I have lost 71lbs, 51 inches and dropped more than 15% body fat.
Tomas Evans is the founder and head trainer of Fenix Fitness. He has been a personal trainer since 2008 where his initial focus was on weight loss and nutrition. Since then, he has trained a variety of clients including athletes, individuals rehabbing from injury and geriatric clients. More recently, with his own diagnosis, Tomas has begun specializing in diabetes management as well.
For your first session, I block off the whole hour to allot time for paperwork, measurements and miscellaneous discussion. So we still physically exercise for 50 minutes. We discuss nutrition while you are working out, and I'm always available for nutrition counseling outside the session--via text or email.
Most people know me as the owner of Fenix Fitness or as the guy with too many dogs. What a lot of people don't know is that I'm also a writer. Over the last year, I finished drafting my first novel while completing my Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. I owe thanks to so many who've supported me, but I'm especially indebted to my mentor, Nancy McKinley.

Any of the trainers at Fenix are top notch. I worked with Josh for 3 1/2 months to help me transition from physical therapy for a back injury to independent weightlifting. It wasn't until I transitioned from physical therapy to personal training that I finally felt pain free from my herniated disks. He strengthened my core and glutes so much, that now I only feel pain if I trigger the injury with the wrong movements. This has vastly improved my quality of life. And now I have a new found love and appreciation for weightlifting and am looking forward to a lifetime regiment of strength training to

Here to provide a review 9 months later! All done during COVID with at home workouts and now gym workouts. The left pic is the very photo I sent Tom when we first started talking about the training.
Not sure what more to add other than you can absolutely trust Tom and his process. My journey was slow, but transformative for the long run and that's what I came here to do...to break my addiction and bad relationship with food and exercise.

Since starting my training with Josh I've dropped from a size 12 to 6/8 and and have kept it off (Yay!), my friends comment about how much more energetic I am, my brain fog has disappeared and I'm in the best condition of my life! I've been training with Michael now for over a year. He is extremely knowledgable, helpful, and dedicated to his personal training and his clients. I was able to see the results I was aiming for with his help. The gym is very clean and well kept. A nice change from the larger, crowded gyms. I will continue training with him for as long as I am in San Diego.

I am 31 years old and a mother of 4 children. I recently gave birth in August of 2013 and have finally decided to start working out. When I met Michael, I told him what specifically I am looking to improve; diet and which body parts I would like to gain muscle, loss fat and tighten up.

I was coached by Mikey when he lived in San Diego. I've hired five separate personal trainers over the years, and Mikey was my favorite, because he is impeccable.
He always kept his word, stayed focused like a laser upon my success and well-being, and helped me to reach new ways of understanding how my body has changed since I was young. I had been struggling with damage to my body because I was still working out in the same old ways from thirty years before, and I didn't know what else was possible.
