I can help. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist helping individuals, families, couples, children and adolescents reach personal growth and change. I specialize in helping parents find more effective ways to parent their difficult children. My professional experiences and studies have given me the tools to help you with many of your challenging problems.

Through discussion and exploration we can find ways to work through life's roadblocks and create a happier and healthier path for your life. Throughout my site you will learn about me, my experience, my education and my personal philosophy about therapy. I also explore things to know about the therapy process and what to expect from therapy.
Services
My professional experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist includes working with couples and families with communication/connection issues, children and adolescents with emotional distress, parenting issues, people of all ages who have experienced abuse and adults trying to cope with past issues or trauma that are continuing to challenge them.
I believe therapy to be an opportunity for people to express feelings and explore change in a safe and protected environment. I utilize multiple techniques to adapt to the issues you bring to the session. One important part of therapy that I embrace is honesty and truth, while creating an environment that promotes processing and discussion of feelings without blame or criticism.
Do not be surprised if your goals continue to change throughout the therapy process. This is due to your self-awareness increasing. The therapist is a person who helps you see into all your life experiences and then through counseling gives you the tools to make the change within yourselves. The therapist is there to assist in your discovery and cheer you on when you are heading in the right direction.
You are reminded that communication via email is not necessarily secure. While every effort is made to maintain confidentiality, the inclusion of private health information is at your own risk. This communication is not an agreement to enter into a therapeutic relationship. If you are in crisis, please call 911 via phone.

I found Jennifer Thomas' website while looking for local child experts that could speak to my MOMS Club group about parenting "strong willed" children. She spoke at one of our group's monthly business meetings and shared many tips and strategies for dealing with children with a strong-willed temperament. I was, personally, very pleased to be able to have a licensed marriage and family therapist share their insights with us as a professional and fellow mother. Her advice was clear and non-judgmental. Having tried several of her suggested strategies with my own strong-willed

I have known Jennifer Thomas for the past two years on a personal level. During this time I have had many conversations and insight into her profession. She is passionate about what she does! Her giving nature and expertise in her field are an amazing combination. I have seen her skills as a therapist at work with children and adults. She has also given me amazing insights into my own marriage and parenting skills that have greatly improved both aspects of my life. Thank you Jennifer

As my ex-wife and I wanted to find a counselor for our 8 year old son, a friend highly recommended Jennifer Thomas. I was apprehensive at first, but she was able to work with us to help our son feel more comfortable sharing his feelings and gave him the tools to communicate more effectively. In addition, she was able to draw out issues my ex-wife and I still have regarding co-parenting and, in a nonjudgmental way, opened the discussion for us.

While I wish I could increase the number of his sessions, Jennifer is diligent and thoughtful in maximizing the time she does spend with us. Counseling
