Relationships, like life, are hard, messy, rewarding, fun, and frustrating. Luckily, just like life, we don't have to figure them out alone. As a trained counselor, I can help you pull together the pieces of your life and relationships so that you can live in a more fulfilled and integrated way. It is a myth that just by virtue of being an adult we should know how to do relationships.
The truth is that most of us don't. Perhaps Jimmy Buffett captured it best in his song "Fruitcakes:" Relationships! We all got 'em, we all want 'em. What do we do with 'em?! To Jimmy and to you, I would answer that we work on them, we nurture them, we learn from them. So give me a call and let's talk about how, as your new therapist, I can support you in doing your work!

I earned my master's degree in counseling from Portland State University, where my focus was couples, marriage, and family therapy. I'm currently an adjunct faculty member in the counseling department at PSU. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has been counseling individuals and couples since 2015.
Are you struggling in some way with your intimate relationship, family relationships, work relationships, friendships, your spiritual relationship, your relationship to substances, or your relationship with yourself? Congratulations, you're human! And, counseling can help. Did you know that the presence of a trained counselor can support change and growth in a way that other relationships can't?
More than 400 years ago, Shakespeare wrote, "the course of true love never did run smooth." So why do many of us today still cling to the notion that if it's the right relationship, things will be easy? All relationships, even good ones, require work. And sometimes it's useful to have a neutral third party involved to help you sort through stuff and do the work more effectively.
Do you want a wedding that is somewhere in between a lavish church ceremony and a visit to your local courthouse? Do you want a personalized and/or non-traditional ceremony without having to do all the work yourself? Do you want the peace of mind of putting the most important day of your life into the hands of a professional wedding officiant?
I will be happy to talk with you about becoming your new counselor or officiating your wedding. Please call 503.752.5168 to schedule an appointment. I feel lucky that I’ve found Kelly as a counselor. She’s caring, direct, with a welcome dose of cheerfulness. Most importantly she offers the time and space for a healing relationship. Her psychodynamic, humanistic approach means that she goes deeper than other therapists out there (who appear to be focused on surface-level CBT). Ultimately, Kelly provides a safe environment for you to realize yourself, your own truth and your personal freedom to be who you want to be in the world.

Add in her clarity of insight, and you get a depth of wisdom that makes her a rare find. As a practicing psychologist for many years, I give her my highest endorsement. I would definitely refer friends and family to Kelly!

Kelly is incredibly smart but never leaves you feeling like you’re dumb. She’s professional but not cold or distant. Best of all, she’s incredibly empathetic. She may not know exactly what you’re going through but she will always do her best to put herself in your shoes and walk through your struggle with you. She’s really fantastic.
