Our kitten is a patient at West Side Pet Clinic. But when it came time for her to be fixed, our vet office does not do surgeries, and we were referred out to Ellicott Street Animal Hospital. We have always adopted older animals, so this was our first experience with a pet having this surgery. The only part of this process with Ellicott Street that was challenging was initially making contact. Sadly this seems to be common across all medical offices now, getting someone to pick up the phone or respond to an email is difficult. But once we got through and made our appointment, things went smoothly

They nickel and dime you and perform procedures that are not authorized; be sure to check your bill. I picked up my dog at 4:45 PM after dropping her off at 8:30 for an antibiotic for a UTI. $215 later, She came in the house, drank a bowl of water and threw up everywhere, then drank another bowl of water. This is a dog that barely drinks anything so obviously she was locked up all day without basic amenities. These vets are not there to help your pets but to line their pockets. I highly suggest choosing a different vet as it was not our first bad experience there and should have known better than

Never made it in the place.
They want the office visit money ahead of time for new clients?? Never experienced this in 40 years of having pets.
Now that I'm older and on SS I get monthly income and want to pay when I come in the office, not a month ahead of time!!
Looks like they won't be getting many "new clients"

Front desk is EXTREMELY RUDE AND IGNORANT. My dog is a patient of this practice's "sister clinic" WSPC. He has what seems like a skin infection and I have been unable to get a call back from our regular vet office for over two weeks. Despite Ellicott Street having performed my dogs neutering, the girl who answered the phone, APRIL was her name, told me I need to continue to wait to hear from my other vet because they can't help me or I can go to an emergency vet clinic if I think somethings wrong. Well what good are you as a veterinarian practice if you refer ill or sick dogs to an emergency room

Dr Nellis is an amazing vet! She has been seeing my fur kids for well over a decade and has never steered me wrong in treatment or what is best for my "kids". Dr Giraffalo is another great vet at the practice! I have always recommended Ellicott to any and all that I know that have pets.

Very friendly staff and very proactive in helping my baby. Gave me very useful resources and was very knowledgeable about her breed. My veterinarian was very comfortable with my siberian husky who needs a lot of extra care and atrention by default as an active big dog with a lot of potential health issues as she gets older. Having a vet SHE trusts is important. Office staff where very friendly and negotiable & receptive to making fair billing arrangements as well for special vet care like mature spaying. This clinic also refers to Caring & Sharing Pet program to help funding in emergencies (income

Ellicott is the best. They have seen me through numerous pets over 25 plus years. I’ve had great care for my cats and dogs there and highly recommend them ! They make me feel like family and have been extremely compassionate during times of illness.

Very accommodating and helpful - transitioned from another practice seamlessly. Our first visit was awesome - organized and efficient, health and safety precautions were followed, the Veterinarian and all of the staff were very friendly and caring people who handled my pets with gentleness - they never flinched nor were they upset throughout their visit. I felt welcomed and treated equally as well. The front office and exam rooms were clean and welcoming too

Absolutely wonderful, this was my first time at any animal hospital.
The people were kind and gentle with my injured pet, I was freaking out I wouldn’t be able to afford taking her there , or there would be hidden costs , they were beyond fair with price , they took the time to answer my questions and concerns .My pet came back as expected. Thank you for helping Bibsy Bunny !! She’s more than greatful for all of you at Ellicott St. Animal Hospital

I really like this place and feel good about our appointments when we leave. I think their pricing is very fair and will continue bringing my animals here. I will say the only downfall is getting someone to return your phone calls or book you an appointment has been quite the process. It usually takes me several phone calls and them saying "someone will call you back" before i turn to reaching out by email, which they seem to respond much much quicker this way!

I am so incredibly grateful for this place. I recently moved to Buffalo, so I haven't been established with a vet yet. Long story short, my poor cat had a bad UTI that started in the evening. I was up all night worrying, hoping I could get her in somewhere in the morning. The last thing I wanted to do was take her to the emergency vet, but knew I might need to because it wasn't likely I could get an appointment. I called a few vets the second they opened, but no one could take me. I then called Ellicott, and immediately felt better. They were so nice to me over the phone, and got me

I honestly can't imagine what my dog and cats lives would be like without the help of everyone here. And I mean everyone, vets, vet techs, admin staff, and anyone else.
I have Rocko, Lilly, and Elvira. All of whom have just filled me with love and also numerous trips to the vet.
If you have a dog or even specifically a diabetic dog look no further. The care they have given Rocko is phenomenal. I have a very special bond with Rocko (long story short: we had his parents and I've known him since birth, my dad and I decided to keep him and now he is a part of my dad who passed when I was

The staff there is wonderful and friendly. I went there because a friend recommended them and I will definitely be going back. The veterinarians are friendly but also honestly, by that I mean that they will explain to you what's wrong with your rude babies and what options you have. My only complaint is the parking but it's downtown so what do you expect.

I've been taking my pets here for over 12 years. While we primarily see Dr. Nellis, we have also seen other vets and been very happy. I know that at one point in time there was a turnover that may have caused some problems that people have mentioned, but I can only say now that everyone has been wonderful. Last year I lost my dog to cancer, and I do believe Dr. Nellis was almost as devastated as I was. Now our other dog has renal failure, and the staff has done everything to help us treat her and keep her happy and in our lives just as long as we can. When I call they are helpful and

I was extremely impressed with this establishment! I have a regular Vet/friend who I see because I do not trust a lot of people with my cat. Last night my cat went into respiratory distress and I called at 5:30pm knowing they closed at 7 asking if there was anyway they could see him. A Vet stayed late and told me to bring my pet in that night asap. We were seen within 1 hour from start to finish, the staff were absolutely incredible and the Vet gave us a long term treatment plan that I feel confident about. Long story short my little guy is back to normal within 24hours and I could not be more

I've been a loyal supporter of this vet practice for years...because i thought it was the best care for my pets. DAYS after their vet missed rapid breathing & irregular heart beats during a routine physical, my pet died from heart failure at the emergency vet. Could it have been stopped in time? I'll never know. The regular vet missed it. And after years and THOUSANDS of dollars spent on my pets, the practice didn't even return my call when I left a message about the death. I checked to see if they got my message. When it was clear they knew but weren't going to return

I love this place! I have three cats and there aren't a lot of vet offices that let you bring all of your pets in at the same time - well, they sure do here and they are very accommodating!
The employees are all very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They made me feel very comfortable with the care that my cats would receive.
Both Dr. Stevens and Dr. Sickels are amazing! They aren't pushy at all and explain very thoroughly everything that they are doing during the exam. They know how to keep the pets calm and relaxed while they examine them and this is very important to me.

We've had very good experiences with this clinic. Our dog has gone here annually for six years. The few times we've had issues they've gotten us in quickly. I feel like the vets take the time to talk to you and explain reasons for medications, and they don't push you to over medicate or over vaccinate. Dr. Gray recently spent 30 minutes talking to me about flea and tick treatments and risk of exposure to little kids, and I thought she went above and beyond to educate me. My sense is that the pricing is middle of the road for a city vet.
