Functional Core Fitness specializes in functional training. Not only will you get in your greatest shape, but you will also have a great time working out with on of our certified personal trainers. Here at Functional Core Fitness, our nationally certified personal trainers strive to increase flexibility, coordination, strength, balance and overall fitness. Each of our programs are designed specifically for your fitness needs, ranging from weight loss, weight gain, increased endurance, sports performance, and in some cases, just an improvement to increase your daily function.

Hello I'm Omar Lima, and I bring 20 years of experience to the fitness industry, including managing the fitness departments for 8 different 24 hour fitness clubs (2000-2005) in the Los Angeles and the south bay San Francisco area. I also was the the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Fairtex fighters (2007-2011) and several MMA fighters including World Champions.
Hello I'm Matt McCormick and I have 7 years of experience in the fitness industry, including being a head trainer at Snap Fitness and 2 years of teaching the NASM personal training curriculum at Southern California Health Institute. I have worked with a wide range of clients, who's goals ranged from youth athletic development, post-surgical training, and senior fitness.
Paul is a Bay Area native and has been a personal trainer since 2006. He found his love for fitness at twelve years old, when his dad took him to a local gym for his first training session to kick off the next eight years of full contact football. He continued his football career at the junior college level, but had to take a break from collegiate sports due to an injury.
In affiliation with Functional Core Fitness (FCF) and it's core intentions is Self Defined Clothing. Embracing the opportunity to passionately synergize the elements of style, sport, art, and music into an eclectic and unparalleled brand concept is Self Defined. I am so grateful that I met Omar on a friend's recommendation. He is one of the best trainer I had over the years. His knowledge of human body and techniques to improve mobility, strength and physical well-being is outstanding. Omar is incredible! He creates awesome custom workouts that are personalized to you / your group, making sure to hit the right mix between getting you in shape, improving your mobility / flexibility, as well as consistently putting injury prevention above all else.

Omar is an amzinam instructor. He takes his work personally and professionally and really cares about his trainee.
My wife joined his gym and I've seen the difference shortly after. After years of seeing doctors, chiropractors, surgeries, and physical therapy to fix her back with no progress, it was great to see her walking and happy and not suffering,

Working with Coach Omar has been a blessing. As a competitive athlete, having the professional, attentive and healing care only received from Omar is unlike any other. Working with a physical therapist who doubles as a strength and conditioning coach has allowed me to take my overall health and wellness to the next level.

I came to Functional Core Fitness to see if Omar was able to fix my body after many years of professional fighting and my most recent neck injury. He was able to point out all my problems and set a plan to heal me. It was a lengthy process that was at times, difficult for me. But, with Omar's positive outlook and his coach's attitude we were able to reach my goals, that became our goals. Just got my @$$ kicked! First session and it was awesome. This place has a beautiful vibe. Learned a lot about diet, energy, stamina, and a lot of other factors that go into complete fitness and health. Go hard or go home. Looking at others who are in much better shape here motivates me to be on their level. Good music playing, variety of equipment for different workouts and a overall positive vibe. My wife and I have been working with Lissy for the last few months and it has been an awesome experience. I have never worked with a trainer before and she has exceeded both my wife and my expectations. I really like the low key atmosphere of the studio and focus on functional strength training. I have IT Band Syndrome from cycling and the training program she has developed for us is delivering awesome results. I had the privilege of working with Omar to rehab a leg injury. 8 weeks prior to my very first Tough Mudder event I got a grade 2 strain in my calf muscle. The first thing that came to my mind immediately following the injury was that there was no way i was going to be able to participate in the TM event and my planned 35 miles of hiking in Zion. I was fortunate enough to have met Omar whose approach to rehabilitation was far superior to what my doctors recommended. I have been working out with Lanthany at Functional Core Fitness for over a month now. I love my trainer and this gym. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. I have never felt self conscious or intimidated. I am sore for days after my workouts and I have already lost weight and inches. I have been training with Omar for almost 4 months now, and couldn't have imagined finding such motivation to change my lifestyle without him! I remember when I went to talk with him the first time, I was skeptical because I've never had a personal trainer. But he dove right into finding out what sorts of goals I had, and was genuinely excited to help me reach my goals. This is the best gym in Bay Area. They have an excellent combination of space and high technology equipment mixed with excellent professionals 100% focused on you.

I am a World Wide manager that travels a lot with crazy working times and the standard lower back problems coming from planes and long nights working in front of the laptop . Usually I pay the first month at gyms like 24x7 and I stop going after few weeks.

Well, I started my training @ Functional Core last February and I have been motivated during almost a year . The reason is very simple: "They are Professionals".

GREAT trainer! He is excellent at pushing people's limits, very imaginative in creating exercises that apply to a person's sport, and very knowledgeable and experienced. He specializes in training MMA athletes, and is great in pushing their cardio, strength, and power- but is also able to train the everyday mom, dad, or kid ;) I highly recommend him.

I've been attending the circuit training class on Saturdays at 11 am. First, I appreciate the time - 11 am allows me to sleep in, and is early enough that it isn't in the middle of everything I need to get done.

Second, its a really good workout. Omar, the instructor, organizes an exercise for each person in the class. You do the exercise for 1 minute, get a 15 second break and rotate, then start the next exercise. After you've completed all the exercises in the circuit you get a 1 minute break. Then you complete the circuit again until the hour is up.

Don't let the Functional Core Fitness center building fool you.
Programs are individually created for your personal fitness goals in improving condition, weight loss, programs for kids and groups as well. You can also choose to train at home, outdoors or in the studio.

Hey ladies...Lisa teaches beginning, intermediate and advanced pole dancing. Now we can all us a little of that now can't we? Leave the stilettos at home girls; you can put those on after you learn how to work it on the pole.

I have been training with Omar for the last 3 months to both improve my physique and increase my real strength (not just glamour muscles). As a result ever person I know has commented how much better I look. In addition, I feel incredible. I used to greet every day with 2 cups of coffee and then another around 11:00 am. Now, most days, I just take a morning shower and hit the day full stride.
I met Omar because I compete in jiu-jitsu. Recently I competed in the advanced open-weight division. I have only been training for 3 years now and all of my opponents had over 8 years of training each
