We have never been here after all these years. The service was great for takeout and the staff was so friendly. The food was great and good portions. The young chow fried rice was absolutely fresh and delicious. We will be coming back!

Don't order delivery from their website!!!! I placed an order on a Tuesday evening, got a notification it would be delivered in 20 minutes. An hour later I called and was told it was on it's way. 20 minutes later (I live 3 miles from the restaurant) it was still not delivered. I needed to leave so I called to cancel the order. They refused to cancel and hung up on me. I called back again, they refused to cancel, hung up again and never delivered any food. But they still charged my credit card. I will never order from them ever!!!

Very nice Chinese restaurant beautifully designed interior which also absorbs sound very well. Place setting looked beautiful as well. The lighting at night was very bright and should be toned down somewhat for dinnertime to enhance ambiance. The food was excellent as was the wait staff. However, they were very busy on a Saturday night; it took about 45 minutes for the food to be served after orders were placed. Prices were higher than a usual Chinese restaurant, but you get what you pay for here. We definitely will go back.

This is our third time eating at Master Chef. On Friday we actually ordered for pickup and it was so delicious we decided to come and dine in on Saturday. The general tso's is the best. Their pork dumplings are a MUST! Their food is fresh and their service is fantastic. I live in Freeport but am happy to make the drive to Syosset for authentic Chinese cuisine.

Food was excellent. Service was great. We were just in town for a day or two and needed some place to have dinner. Not disappointed! Wish they were where we live!

This restaurant has good food and good service. I only tried it once but would go back. It is upscale looking but you can dress casual and comfortable. The chips and duck sauce were YUMMY!

Easily the best Chinese/Japanese restaurant in the area. The food is fantastic every time, whether dining in or taking out I've never had a bad experience. The interior is actually really cool looking too, definitely take a look around if you stop in.

I should have trusted the reviews. I felt like it was just a nice decor Chinese restaurant. The prices are expensive and plates were small. The place is crammed so not much spacing between tables. The chicken dishes are all white meat. It is catered to non-Chinese, which was 90% of the customers when we were there. The most expensive fried rice was this golden fried rice and it is the yellow rice from take out. For $22, I expected something more. They served cheap Lipton tea.

I thought the food would have been better than a good take-out joint, but unfortunately I've had better from my neighborhood take-out. I'll leave it at that since it's an unusual time to be picky about service during this pandemic.

Really nice atmosphere. Large old fashioned Chinese restaurant vibe. Pleasant servers. Solid food. Soup dumplings were good. Prawn in lobster sauce was good. Shrimp chow fun was good. The pastrami egg roll was very interesting in a good way. Nothing was eyes rolling amazing, but it was GOOD. Love the whole vibe.
I will come back and try some more selections from the menu

Went here for a Christmas early afternoon meal with good friends and both the food and the service were excellent. The booths are separated by curtains and are spotlessly sanitized. The restaurant itself is very attractive and well laid out. As others have mentioned, it is slightly pricey but as in all things, you get what you pay for.

We had a fine meal with good service and good decor. Pricing is upscale but consistent with quality.

We dined indoors with social distancing accomplished by closed tables.

Spotless and super clean during Covid. Can't complain about the ingredients as it is super fresh and high end. My family loves it as it's very fresh and tasty on all their dishes. A gem in the neighborhood.

I believe I'd been to this restaurant under its previous owners or name
many years ago, in the 1980s, which was also an outstanding
"upscale" Chinese restaurant, but I hadn't been since, and I wasn't
sure how good Master Chef was, but someone got me a gift of a
DoorDash gift card, and since I've never used DoorDash, and I read
many 5 star reviews for this restaurant, and I now live nearby, I rolled the dice on 'em (which normally, I hate doing). Ordered General Tso's Chicken and some veg. fried dumplings, basic order, they supplied rice, the food here is

Five star restaurants are rare. Five star Chinese restaurants all but non existent. Some of the criteria to earn the five stars are quality of service, quality of food, value received for the price, preparation and presentation, décor and feel of the dining experience. Master Chef scores on each one of these points. Interesting and eclectic menu so that if you are a fan of "traditional" Chinese food like shrimp with lobster sauce you can find it here or if you are willing to experience authentic food you will be well pleased at the offerings. The décor is part of the experience and

This was my first time eating (vegetarian) dumplings and I loved it! The fried noodles with veggies were amazing as well. At the end we got the yummiest fruits on the house! The service was good, the place and set up looks very nice.

I've been to many Chinese restaurant and this was was really good. The atmosphere is very comfortable. lol, the carpet was so plush too, just something that stuck out to me. The waiter we had was also very nice and informative. They have tons of menu choices and chef specialties as well. The only thing I didn't like about this place was, I thought, the prices could've been a tad bit better. Other than that, the place was magnificent and I definitely would come back because the quality of the food was exceptional. I definitely recommend this restaurant

P.S. The Soup Dumplings were

Place was amazing. The food was the best Chinese I've had in a while. Nothing too greasy or spicy.
Fresh ingredients. Had the fried calamari appetizer and enjoyed it. The ambiance was superb. The tables and cutlery was fine. Linen and cool chopsticks. The staff was super nice. Highly recommend.

Ordered delivery from Master Chef and was pleasantly surprised. It’s definitely more expensive then your average Chinese restaurant, but the quality of the ingredients was also better. The food came within a half hour which is impressive for a Saturday at 7pm.
I got the pork fried dumplings, hour and sour soup and Kung pao chicken. The dumplings and Kung pao chicken were good, but I was impressed with the hot and sour soup. They load it with veggies but had a lot of black pepper.

Our party of 4 descended on Master Chef Friday evening circa 9pm to give a try to this new and impressive venue. We were warmly greeted and the place oozed class. We were hungry and ordered lotsa stuff...For apps we got Soup Dumplings which were just ok..not alot of tasty broth. Also cold Sesame Noodles and Steamed Dumplings... I noted on the menu that they created fancy names for very ordinary dishes...beware because that simple act makes this place quite expensive for what they are giving you. For mains we had Generals Chicken , Mapo Tofu and two Shrimp dishes. I had Seafood Pan Fried Noodles

This is a traditional style Chinese restaurant with stunning details, looks like it cost over $5mill in interior design work, every detail was in place. The food was ok. What it really needs is to be a dim sum banquet establishment. That's where its success lies. Right now, there's nothing to talk about, other than decor.

Pricey restaurant. The food quality is good, however I feel that I can get the same quality and variety in Flushing at a cheaper price. The decoration of the place is beautiful and there are some cool gadgets in the bathroom. The chopsticks seemed to be high quality chopsticks as the tips can be thrown away and the wood body is well made and fancy.

I would definitely not come back to this place because I can get the same quality and variety of food in Flushing as well. But it is different if you live around the area and Flushing becomes a hassle.
