Every day, our certified trainers help people in Richmond, VA and surrounding areas work toward their goals, empowering our community through personal training and group fitness classes. These programs are designed to be efficient, eliminate boredom and wasted effort, and bring results.

Our personal training, group classes and other fitness services can help in reducing body fat, gaining strength, and improving overall fitness. With multiple options available, free initial consultations and a free trial week of classes, it's easy to choose the approach that will work best for YOU.

Our mission is to empower and educate through providing superior fitness services and products. We are guided by the belief that everyone should be able to improve their health and fitness to the best of their individual ability.
Our goal is to help you make fitness a realistic part of your life. As such, we offer fitness classes throughout the week, 1-on-1 and small group personal training at our studio, and in-home/mobile personal training that comes to you. Our services can be used separately or combined, depending on your needs, goals and preferences.
RESULTS: Results come quicker when you work with a personal trainer. We design an effective plan to help you achieve your goals, assist in cleaning up your diet, and monitor your progress. ACCOUNTABILITY: We all know how easy it is to find excuses, and consistency is the name of the game when it comes to fitness.
Led by certified trainers, our group fitness offerings are adjustable to meet individual ability, and we make sure you get the attention you need. Are you highly-motivated and able to stick with a plan but need to work out on your own? Now you can enjoy the guidance of our certified personal trainers without needing to physically meet for your workouts. You'll meet with your personal trainer initially to discuss your fitness goals, access to equipment, and other information we'll need to craft your personalized fitness program.

My husband and I have been working out with Roberto for almost two years. He always makes sure we get a challenging, balanced workout and has gotten us both into great shape. My husband has lost 80 pounds, and I was able to maintain working out while pregnant. I have been a member of four gyms and never stuck to any of them. I also never noticed (or felt) any results when working out on my own, as I had no idea what I was doing. These people were amazing to work with! My trainer, Nick, was always prompt, professional, and made me work out like I didn't even know I could work out! They offer classes that are small and all the attention you get is individualized like they have all the time in the world just for you. The pricing for personal training was more than reasonable! You absolutely need to give them a try! They are very, very responsive to messages too. You will never wonder how to get in touch with anyone and with flexible hours, who can beat that?!!!

I’m one of the personal trainers at Onward and I’ve worked in a lot of gyms over the years. I love this gym over others is because there is greater opportunity for individualized training for the members because of its intimate, yet fully equipped atmosphere.. We have a fantastic team of trainers who are professional and always positive.. and… Steve the owner is a genuinely nice guy who simply cares about the mission of getting people healthier and more active. Classes are fun, challenging, and creative.. and of course our members are da bomb ;) 💪 highly suggest at least

I LOVE this place. I've been going to the AM bootcamp class for over 2 years now and have caught the occasional PM/Saturday class as I can. Every class is different and all of the trainers have different styles. Keeps it interesting - which is key at 5:45am! Great trainers, great rates, great friends, and great customer service. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.

I love Onward Fitness's boot camp!! If you're looking for a close-knit workout group where everyone knows your name & cares how you're doing, this is it. My schedule only allowed me to attend on nights that Allison & Jordan led workouts, and they were both extremely knowledgeable, eager to work with everyone's skill level & limitations, and really good at making the workouts fun. It must be nice to have so much business that you don't have to respond to requests for services. How long does it take to pick up the phone and call someone? Even if it is to say that you can't accept new clients.

I've been taking the boot camp classes at Onward for about four months and they are so much fun - a small friendly group, challenging workouts, dedicated trainers, and never the same thing twice. The location is super convenient and there's plenty of parking! I love supporting local businesses and I'm so tired of the drudgery of big box gyms. This is so much better.

We have been working with Steve for about a year and a half with great results! Our workouts are tailored specifically for us. If something isn't working, Steve finds something else - no problem. I've tried lots of things before but have finally found something I can stick with!

Mark and I have been working out with Steve for over 18 months and have stuck with it. Yeah, he's that good! We have both lost weight, gained strength, endurance and flexibility. Steve tailors our workouts to what we can do - this isn't one size fits all - and changes the workouts often enough that we are never bored. I highly recommend Steve as a personal trainer.

This place is absolutely wonderful. They are great to work with. Ashley is an awesome trainer and Steve offers first class service. I've gotten a lot out of working out here. It's very individualized for everyone and they go out of their way to help you keep track on your own to give you the most out of training. I've worked out with a few gyms over the years in the Richmond area and this is by far my best experience.

Steve is great to work with and tailors each workout to our needs. My wife and I have seen great improvement in health and strength in four months. Lost 28 pounds so far and not feeling tired at the end of the day anymore!

Had a great workout today. Steve is constantly challenged to work around my "bad joint of the day" while still making me work hard and continue to gain strength. And, each and every workout, he does it!
