At the old jailhouse we are known for creating a variety of our own in house spirits. We also feature a huge selection of bourbons, Wine & Craft Beer. My wife and I dined here last night with another couple and it was MAGNIFICENT! Expertly crafted menu. Loved every morsel. There is a new standard amongst dining eatablishments being set in Metro Orlando, and the Oil Jailhouse is helping to lead that pack.

We stopped by on a random Saturday with family visiting and had a great time. We called ahead and they were able to put a reservation for us the same day. The host and our server were so friendly explaining a little bit about the room we were in. Love the piece of history, we were in the booking room back in the day when it used to be a jail house for the town. The drinks were great and strong. We decided to go with the pastas dishes which were huge portions so be ready to take some home. The burger was delicious and over all great environment. If you like a little bit of history, great food and

Went for the Sunday brunch, was excited because I’ve heard all the hype. Not impressed at all. Very limited selection and then they did not have some of the items on the menu. Had shrimp and grits on the online menu, but then was told they no longer have it. Asked for napkins and hot sauce for the omelette never got either. If you do not eat red meat, your only choice is only chicken and waffles or veggie. Ended up with chicken and waffles, is only half of the waffle, chicken not very flavorful. Not a place a would go back to and this is a fist in Sanford, all the other places I’ve been to

Super cool interior. Definitely has that old school speakeasy vibe with a cool backstory. I love the use of the iron bars in each room. They even have some of the original ones from the before the place was converted to a bar.
Staff was very friendly. Drinks were amazing. Next time we definitely have to try the food here.

I wanted to like it more than I actually did. Some of the food was AMAZING. One of our party got cold food. The server seemed willing to rectify it, but when she didn't want to be a bother, she was still fully charged for her cold food. Not a BAD experience, just not the one I was hoping for, having heard so many wonderful things about them.
Atmosphere was fantastic. We had a large-ish party, so we actually got seated in a "cell," which was a ton of fun. People kept walking by and closing the doors, too, so it was a great, interactive time!

The old jailhouse is a premier spot that anyone outside of Sanford has to dine in. The Bartender Nick is super-friendly & creates amazing cocktails that are a must-have. Chef Ryan is incredible creative & comes out with amazing seasonal entree's that keep inviting you back into this establishment. I'd recommend anyone to make a reservation at The Old Jailhouse. A perfect dining experience in Sanford, Florida

This unique place in Sanford gets 4-stars for ambiance and service. We went as a big group and they sat us in a private area. The room was freezing and they turned the fans off and the temp of the room up for us. Nice! We got a few appetizers: green eggs (deviled eggs), smoked fish spread, Brussel sprouts ... only the last one was memorable. I ordered the fish special, grouper, which was flavorful but small for an entree. Desserts were ok: a chocolate tahini ice cream and a couple more, not memorable enough for me to remember... and I have a sweet tooth. Service was top notch. Big group and our

My wife and I took her mom here for an early Mothers Day lunch. We had Dove as our server. She was nice and efficient. We started with The Fish Dip and Pork Belly Apps. The Pork Belly was amazing, the fish dip was ok, the pita's used to dip were awesome.
My wife and mother in law both had the burger. It was huge, it had thick bacon and a blue cheese sauce. So much flavor and cooked to perfection. The fries were good. I had the gnocci, it was cooked perfect. It had mushrooms, eggplants and squash. It was a nice meal and service was good.

...and now I am a fan of hot honey. Sundays are for brunch and I was lucky enough to come upon both the Sanford Art Festival today, and The Old Jailhouse on Palmetto Street. Is there anything better than a $5 pineapple mimosa? No, no there is not. The chicken and waffles, though? Fantastic! You get an entire chicken breast to enjoy with your waffle and it is cooked perfectly, with a crispy, tasty skin. The hot honey, though, sneaks up on you like a yummy temptress. The setting, in and of itself, is worth a visit just to appreciate the amount of effort that went into it. I would love to

The food was good tonight but the service was way below my expectations. I usually order a couple of cocktails, coffee, and dessert, but the service (Mike) was so off-putting that I decided I would take my cocktail and dessert dollar somewhere else.
I'll give this place another shot, but I am sorely disappointed in tonight.

We reserved a table for twelve on a Wednesday evening to celebrate a friend's birthday. The Hostess greeted us promptly and graciously provided my wife a mask because she left hers in the car. Once seated, our servers, Quenton and RJ, immediately introduced themselves, poured us fresh cold water, then provided drink, dinner, and happy hour menus for our review.
My wife and I shared:
- The Nuthouse Coffee Porter (Reg $6, happy hour $4).
- The Pleasure Chest IPA (Reg $6, happy hour $4).
- Yuengling Draft ($4).
- The Green Eggs & Ham (Reg $6, happy hour $1 for each piece).
- The Big House

So we were meeting some friends while in town and just found this place right between where we were and they were. This place is located right in the downtown area of Sanford so if you get there a little early there may be some cool shops to take a look at.
So apparently this is the very old Seminole County Jail from 1914-1958 but the building itself was built in 1890. Well, you can read the cool history on their website and in the restaurant but you want to know about the food, right?
We started with the pretzel bread and beer cheese for the kids, okay, and me. My only complaint is that there

The food here has always been amazing every time I stop in. Chef Barry and Sous Chef Celeste are creative and do such wonderful jobs. Unfortunately, we couldn't wait to eat so I barely took any photos the nights we went. When we didn't see many vegan dishes on the menu, they were more than happy to help with the dietary needs. One of my favorites are all the mushrooms we ate. Such an earthy mix of wonder.
The drinks are all creative and I love trying new ones each time. We look forward to our next visit every time we take a step out of their doors.

This place has great ambience. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. The service was fantastic. Everyone was incredibly nice. The food was very good. We had a burger, salmon, and an apple cobbler dessert. I would definitely give the food 4 stars but I gave the overall review 5 stars because of the atmosphere and service!

I love unique places like this. The inside is nice and the bricks and old jailhouse theme is neat.
I had the wardens plate which is 2 eggs, thick cut bacon, biscuits and gravy, and potato pepper hash. They also have a complimentary mimosa.
This dish was was a nice brunch meal. The staff was very friendly too. Customer service is big I'm the restaurant industry.
