San Jose dentist Dr. Pauline Lu has practiced dentistry since the year of 2000. Dr. Lu is a cosmetic and family dentist for patients of all ages, proudly serving West San Jose, Cupertino, Saratoga, Santa Clara, San Jose, and the greater bay area. Dr. Lu graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor's and a Master's degree with Honor in Music.
Veneers are an excellent way to redesign and reshape your entire mouth. Veneers are a very thin ceramic shell that covers your existing tooth structure. In placing these new veneers on your teeth, you are able to fix the look of issues such as staining, cracked teeth, spaces, misaligned teeth, chipped teeth and many other issues.
Dental implants are a permanent and appealing solution to replace missing or extracted teeth. They are better than other alternatives like bridges because no additional teeth need to be altered to place the new tooth. The entire implant process is performed over the course of a few months. The first part of the process is to install the implant itself, where a screw is placed into the jaw bone.
Invisalign is a new system of straightening teeth without the use of conventional braces. A series of clear plastic aligners are utilized to create tooth movement. Moving teeth with removable aligners is not new. However, the computer program, which can generate a series of aligners with small changes is the new part.

After reading other Yelp reviews about several dentists, I decided to see Dr. Lu. Not having dental insurance, I liked her cash prices. More impressive was her attitude of embracing technology so that everything was efficient, painless and in less time. She concurred with my previous dentist that an implant would be needed but the price was significantly less. I broke a piece off a molar and need to see Dr. Lu a week after my cleaning and this was painless and a crown put on a week later. I called her Wonder Woman because she was the best dentist I have ever had. I wouldn't call her

I can't recommend Dr Lu enough. She is great,gentle and make sure that you are comfortable during any procedures. I'm so glad that I found her, all my appointments I was seen on time. She takes her time to explain everything that needs to be done. I had cleaning, fillings and crown done by her and Im really happy with the results. Her receptionist is amazing too. Highly recommend Dr Lu, my sister and husband are now going to her too.

Dr. Lu is amazing. So nice and comforting. I was really nervous switching to a new dentist for the first time in 16 years. She was really thoughtful, thorough, and attentive. I made a teeth cleaning appointment for myself and my two kids. They were nervous as well. My son is 14 and had only ever had the same dentist so he wasn't sure what to expect with someone new. She had him laughing and comfortable in no time. We all agreed, we are lucky we found her!

I have seen quite few dentists in my adult life and have never kept a dentist more than a year. I have stayed with Dr. Lu for the longest (easily over 3 years) and it's a testament to how much I appreciate her level of professionalism and skill with taking care of my teeth. I would highly recommend her for anyone looking for a dentist who actually cares about your teeth!

Dr Lu is amazing! I have been a patient of Dr Lu’s for years and I must say that she is the best Dentist I have ever had. She is very dedicated to her profession. She is diligent, knowledgeable, and very efficient. I must say that her best quality is how much she cares. She constantly asks if your doing ok. Even if it’s a routine check up! Let’s face it, it’s very difficult for so many of us to go to the dentist, because a lot of us find it scary. But Dr Lu takes the fear away and handles everything with such ease and attention. Seven years ago, my front tooth veneer came off! Imagine what a nightmare that was for me--talking to people with a missing front tooth! I was very fortunate to have found Dr. Lu then as an emergency patient. She immediately re-arranged her schedule that morning just to help me with my nightmare. I was so grateful that she was able to give me a temporary veneer that day and ordered a permanent one couple weeks later.

It could be very difficult for consumers to evaluate healthcare provider, because we just don't have the special knowledge to know. That's why a lot reviews on dentists only talking about how easy to make appointment, how long the wait, and how clean the office is. For this regard, I say simply Dr. Lu's office exceeds all my expectations.

Great dentist for the whole family! Our whole family comes here and we've been patients for 10 years. My 2 kids think going to Dr. Lu's is like going to a party... "can't wait to get the goody bags"! That's a nice bonus... they get kiddie toothbrushes, toothpaste, and a little toy. Dr. Lu makes it very fun for the kids, from kiddie movies (you can even bring your own!), stuffed animals, to her friendly demeanor.

Best dentist I've had in a long while! Ria and Dr. Lu were nothing but courteous and professional. Dr. Lu was super patient and explained everything in advance to me. She also really took the time with my questions and gave very honest opinions. I can't be happier with the result. And would highly recommend anyone to have her as a dentist.

I was in town on business. While eating a salad, I broke a tooth on a piece of an olive pit. I googled "emergency dentists" and saw Dr. Lu. I called and she said "My staff is at lunch, but come in as soon as you can". Dr. Lu took a look and put a temporary filling in to hold me over until I could get to my regular dentist back home. Dr. Lu was compassionate, understanding, and very professional. If you need a dentist, Dr. Lu is worth a visit. She's great.

I went to Dr. Lu for the first time yesterday. My previous dentist was very good, but every time they charged too much and I had to call them and correct the bill (happened three times). Dr. Lu and her staff (Rea) try to get the best out of pocket price for me and a detailed explanation of the bill.
I was able to get an appointment within an hour of when I called and there was no wait time. She did cleaning and some fillings in very short time and I am very pleased with the result. Both Dr. Lu and Rea are very caring and very friendly.

Dr. Lu has been my dentist for 3 years. Had a wisdom tooth extracted and dental cleaning several times. Experience has been great so far. Dental cleaning is comfortable, and the tips Dr. Lu tells me each time helps me protect my teeth. I have moved far from Santa Clara but I still come back. Thank you Dr. Lu.

If you are looking for a dentist in the Silicon Valley, you found the perfect one! I came across Dr. Lu via Yelp years ago, and have not regretted my decision since. She is one of the friendliest and least aggressive dentists I have ever been to. The cleanings are always non-painful and quick. The staff is super friendly and willing to work with me and my schedule.
Even though I don't live close to her office (especially in morning traffic), I still make the trip out to her because I feel like its worth it.
If you need a dentist, I highly recommend going to Dr. Lu. You won't be disappointed!

I have visited this office for a teeth cleaning and tooth extraction. Dr Lu is so patient, kind and warm. I hate going to the dentist--I get major anxiety and my nervousness shows. But Dr Lu was aware of my nerves and made my experiences as painless as possible. I feel as though i am in good hands in this office. The secretary and dental assistant are equally wonderful. I am so glad to have found her and will continue visiting Dr Lu for all my dental needs!

For the occasionally impatient person like myself, time is a virtue. Fortunately, this office is able to run operations very quickly and efficiently. I called the office and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. Nice! Unlike some private practices, my appointment began exactly at the time it was scheduled. Zero wait time!

I've been a patient at Dr. Lu's for several years now. I've had a lot of work done by her, and she's always done a great job. Her cleanings are also the gentlest cleanings I've ever had.
The office is friendly, people know your name and face, and I like how Dr. Lu does not recommend procedures that she doesn't think are necessary. You definitely don't get the feeling that you're being scammed (which is not the case at the previous dental establishment I was at).

Bad technique ruined my good teeth, made me can't bite things in the whole left side. Can't believe I always trust her, and let her do the treatment for three times, each made me feel worse and worse! When I can't stand any more, wanna change to other dentist, she sent me a fake incomplete treatment history!!! More worse,when I call back, she even said it's me get wrong! GOD knows! They are my teeth! How is it possible for patient to get wrong the part under surgery

I've been seeing Dr. Lu for about 3 years now and couldn't be happier! Dr Lu's staff is friendly and extremely organized, they are great at reminding me of my appointments. Dr. Lu is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about her patients. I have had bad experiences with dentists before who recommend expensive treatments that turn out to be unneeded. Dr. Lu is extremely trustworthy and only recommends necessary treatments and for this reason, I will continue to see her as long as I live in the Bay Area.

After several routine dental visits, all the former dentists I had would suggest removing my wisdom teeth. They would inform me that removing my wisdom teeth would benefit me in the long run, but I was always hesitant. I would always say, "maybe next time, not now."

A great and comfortable environment for all ages. Dr Lu's staff is great at reminding me of my appointments. Dr. Lu is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares for the health of our teeth. She's not the type to recommend a procedure unless you really need it. I also don't get nervous going because she is gentle on my gums unlike some other dentists I've gone to (who actually numbed my gums before cleaning). Going to the dentist is not scary anymore. Especially for children. I've never seen and unhappy kid there. Most of them are either happily sitting in the waiting room

Dr. Lu & Staff are great! They make you feel conmortable right when you walk in the door. Staff talk to you as if they are your friend instead of just telling you what they are planning to do for your appointment. They actually take the time and converse with you asking how are you, where your originally from, and you jusy want to continue talking forgetting your sitting in a dental chair. The staff lets you know every move they make instead of wondering what they are doing next.
