Services
The late Lamar Williamson had a dream, consistent with his wish to provide community service and to meet the needs of families in his beloved city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1950, after graduating from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, Illinois, Lamar established Williamson Funeral Home in a converted residence on North 7th Street.
Whether burial or cremation, the family may wish to have a visitation, affording family and friends to view their loved one, spend time together, extend sympathies, and honor the transition from life to death of their loved one. Visitations (often called wakes) are helpful in allowing families to acknowledge the reality of death and to say their final goodbyes.
Following are steps to take when the death of a loved one occurs at home, in an institution, or away from home. Please do not hesitate to call Leon L. Williamson Funeral Home immediately if you are unsure as to what to do. Our caring and compassionate staff will be available to answer your questions with immediacy and will be with you through every step of preparing for a service that is meaningful, affordable and appropriate for your loved one.
Some persons, grieving the loss of their loved ones, are able to work through their loss independently. Accessing the support of licensed professionals may be beneficial to others. Some persons find comfort in addressing their grief through engaging in support groups which help them to understand their emotions and meet others who will share their experiences and help them through their toughest moments.
Most families plan ahead for the future. Weddings, college tuition, the purchase of a home, the purchase of an automobile, and the purchase of other large expenditures require careful thought and pre-planning before expenditures are made. Families also plan for unexpected events in their lives by purchasing home insurance, auto insurance, and medical insurance.

Worst funeral home ever. Rushed my family while speaking at the funeral. I was told I couldn’t do my relatives hair or nails because they have their “own person” to do that by bitter family members and called the funeral home to confirm it and come to find out the lady I spoke with lied along with my family and when we went to review the body there was a gentleman who cleared up the lies and told us that we could have. I’m sorry but that was down right dirty to lie to me and she really made the company untrustworthy in my eyes. I will never have a funeral here ever again
