Every situation in life is an opportunity to grow and evolve. But not every situation is easy. Sometimes it's very difficult to see the gifts that are presented to us in a time of adversity. Sometimes we need help to find our way through. That's what I do, help people find their way through. Psychotherapy can be scary.
It is vitally important that you find a therapist with whom you feel a positive connection. I have experienced this with many people over 30+ years, and these clients have been wonderful teachers. If you have begun to search for the therapist that you resonate with, feel free to contact me. Wondering about my location, types of payment accepted, cancellation policy, how and when to contact me, my rates, and what happens if you need medication?

Services
Over the course of my career, I have worked extensively with all types of abuse survivors, combat veterans and victims and witnesses of violent crimes.
I have worked with alcoholics and other addicts, individuals suffering from depression, people with life threatening eating disorders, couples trying to work out their problems, individuals trying to come to terms with huge life changes, people facing death, clients with anger management issues, and many, many more. All of these people have been my teachers, and I have welcomed every lesson they taught me.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is the name for something that can happen to someone after they experience a traumatic event outside of the range of normal human experience. These events could include abuse, combat, rape, natural disasters, as well as many other difficult circumstances.
When I work with people dealing with PTSD, I work with them to explore and understand how the traumatic event and the symptoms following have impacted their life.I find that this exploration and understanding often helps to reduce the intensity of their symptoms and return them to a level of functioning and interpersonal interaction that is more desirable.

Some insurance policies offer partial reimbursement for out of network mental or behavioral health services like I provide. Your insurance company may or may not cover out of network services, but if you do have out of network coverage, it is up to you to send in your own claim forms. My policy is for you to make payment in full at the time service is rendered.
I've created a comfortable, quiet, and private space to enhance our work together. It's a place I hope we will be able to do good work together, free from the distractions of the outside world. I won't play psychological games with you. I want to get to know you and come to understand why you have come to see me.
I thought it would be helpful for you to read what some of my clients have to say about our work together. Remember, finding the right therapist is very important. You must find someone you connect with, someone you trust, someone who you feel comfortable being around. The extraordinary people who have been my clients have taught me so much, and I am grateful to all of them.

I have seen my fair share of counselors, and none compare to the amazing Julie! She has helped me tremendously over the past 5 years. She has a very calming, perceptive demeanor and a great sense of humor. I've struggled with anxiety and depression related to trauma for quite some time, and she helped me to see that it's not just anxiety or depression as separate diagnoses- it's all connected and related to trauma and should be treated with trauma therapy techniques. That was a huge breakthrough for me and the way I approach and understand my anxiety and depression. Julie has been very compassionate

I cannot give Julie enough stars or gratitude. She has truly been an incredible help through the greatest change in my life. To say she counsels so effectively and efficiently is such an understatement. She is able to see every situation so clearly and so quickly with such wisdom. She then is able to guide to a place of healing and positive change. She is simply wonderful and I highly recommend her to everyone seeking insight and help with any situation or issue you may be facing. I am most thankful for her compassion and assistance.

Julie creates a very safe environment. She is very compassionate, understanding and non-judgmental. She is solution oriented and uses her vast knowledge and understanding to work with you to help you achieve your next step. She is firm in her resolution to keep you moving forward, all the while holding a safety net underneath you.
In a half hour Julie moved me from having a trauma based fear that was paralyzing me to a place where I could rationally discuss my options AND take some positive actions in my life. In ONLY 30 minutes!!!
She is the best therapist I've gone to in 40+ years.

Julie has helped me through several transitions in my life, to help me move forward when I was stuck by grief, pain and anxiety. She is amazingly insightful and supportive. I've been seeing her off and on for the past 3 and a half years, and I feel like I have found my therapist for life. She always interacts with me in the way that I need it at that time. She was gentle with me as I decided to finally deal with the pain of a loss. Now I feel like I have found a healthier frame of mind because of her help. But when I kept telling her I would make a specific change in my life and I didn't do it

I've been seeing Julie for a little over three years and am amazed at how she has helped me grow by leaps and bounds by showing me the practical baby steps to get there. Julie is truly exceptional at connecting with people on a human level and she listens and engages with you as a person rather than just as a client. Sessions with her are like conversations with a good friend who's not afraid to tell it like it is, call you out on your self-limiting behaviors, and share relevant personal insights and experiences to help you find your way. She doesn't get caught up in the "why" as much as she helps

I consistently worked with Julie for over two years on both personal and business matters. She served as an amazing aid to guide me toward happiness. She taught me how to own my happiness and take responsibility for my needs. In a way, I can say that she taught me to grow up. I am much more honest, vulnerable and willing to show up in life. The adjustment has come with major consequences, but Julie helped me gain the skills to navigate through these life experiences authentically and with grace. All in all, I appreciate her help in leading me to become the person I was destined to be.

I have grown so much since I started seeing Julie and learned so much about myself that I never noticed before. She is not only insightful but very nonjudgemental which allows you to be totally real with her. She has helped me move through the grieving process beautifully and very productively I might add. I never feel like I'm talking to a therapist when I'm with Julie, it's more like talking to a friend. She has such great insight and a very peaceful presence. She is also very knowledgeable in so many different areas of life that you can't help but learn something new every time you are in there

I have been seeing Julie now for almost 3 months, and I have seen more progress than I have ever seen. Julie is not just a therapist, she is also a real friend, and someone who genuinely cares about her patients. As a therapist, she is brilliant. She has a beautiful way of listening with such intent and compassion, while being able to gently guide me along my path in making healthy decisions and boundaries. I recommend Julie to everyone, and the people who meet her get to meet a truly genuine and humble person who is on her own journey of healing.
