I have been following Kaizen on social media for some time now and I decided to end 2021 with a visit to this sushi bar. Absolutely love the small setting. The employees are very friendly and the sushi chefs are too. The prices are reasonable - reminds me of some of my favorite sushi spots I had in California.
I did not get the gentleman's name but he did ask us if it was our first time. I appreciate that and can tell that he knows his regulars and acknowledges new ones. Small interactions, Great sushi.
We ordered Two rolls and I picked out some of my favorite Nigiris! So so so good. I

Kaizen is a rare gem, once you try it; you will never have normal sushi again.
Qui is the definition of Kaizen. He perfects his art day after day; bite after bite. By importing the finest fish in the world, he manages to blow your mind at every taste.
Come for omakase but be prepared to instantly become a sushi snob. The best sushi I've had from Tsukiji to Florida. 100/5

I'm tied between a 2 & 3 rating on Kaizen, I wish there were 1/2 marks. I settled on the 2 due to the dirty spots on the table cloth as well as the service. While our server was nice, she was somewhat clueless. We kept looking at her to let her know we were ready to order but she never came - she kept standing in the kitchen waiting on our appetizer instead (and we could see that she saw us several times looking at her trying to get her attention). Another party walked in and the sushi guys were not making any orders - so we wanted to get them going on our order.

We've had Kaizen on our radar for a while and finally got around to trying it last night. We had high expectations since we've been told it's one of the best sushi spots in broward. We started off with a toro handroll that was delicious (I will say it threw us off a little when we saw the tab it was $21 for it) but it really was delicious. The hamachi scallion roll was great. The quil egg, tobiko sushi was awesome. The salmon belly sushi was incredible. The medai sushi was good. The one sushi pictured alone with two pieces was our least favorite. The Red Sox sushi with the sauce

Is it me or is it just that there is no good service in restaurants other than in Southern California and New York City. Everywhere we go in the US, it seems like the service is just horrible:
Average sushi at average prices. We ordered a lot of nigiri, sashimi and rolls, and nothing really stood out as anything delicious or anything that would bring us back here.
Slightly below average service. Our waiter forgot our drinks until well into our meal when we reminded him that we ordered drinks.
The worst part of all this:
we came in with our two, 6 year old twins that are very well-versed in eating

Chef Qui prepares his sushi as true pieces of art. The Nigiri and the rolls are delicate in size and the combination of flavors is amazing. The restaurant offers Omakase and appetizers with fish brought from Japan, which is an exquisite experience. That was my first visit to Kaizen and it is already my favorite sushi restaurant.

It's a sushi place that many locals know about and definitely keep going to. I didn't like their chicken fried rice, it had no tasted and do not recommend at all. My brother and I had the lychee martini, which we loved. The rolls we ordered were the following: Sexy roll, Mayan roll, JB roll, and another roll which I don't remember the name. I didn't like the JB roll, nothing to talk about, Mayan roll was spicy so a must order if you like spicy, but my favorite was the Sexy roll. I definitely would like to go back to try other rolls in order to make a better opinion about the

We've discovered probably the best sushi in Fort Lauderdale, and sorry for the cliche but Kaizen is a true neighborhood gem. The atmosphere may not reach 5-stars, but (going against my rules) who cares when the 5-star sushi/sashimi and presentation is a big cut above.
After several times ordering the 'boats' (which are excellent choices for people who like standard American sushi such as tuna, yellowtail and salmon) we tried the adventuresome route of ordering ala carte.
Everything ala carte is fresh, the cuts generous, and the presentation immaculate. Most interesting are the

I drive by this spot almost everyday and finally decided we needed to give it a try. I could kick myself for not having tried it sooner. The service was outstanding and the food was phenomenal. All white chicken breast meat in the teriyaki and very fresh vegetables. The salad it came with was a nice mix of fresh greens and an outstanding ginger dressing. The miso soup was great too. No kids menu, but we ordered chicken tempura for them and it was a hit. They also had a side of fries for picky eaters. I cannot wait to go back!

I will definitely be back for more sushi. This place did not look like your normal sushi bar. The style was modern and it almost felt as if you were at a place on a dock, very cool. The menu was big and the cocktails were traditional with some flare. I ordered a vodka cocktail that was delicious and they have Tito’s! For dinner we shared goyza and I had the dragon roll and spicy tuna roll. Both very fresh and the ingredients were delicious. Staff was friendly and attentive and it seemed like there were a lot of usuals which is a good sign.

We have been looking for quality sushi since moving to Fort Lauderdale and Kaizen has completely exceeded our expectations. Everyone from the hostess to the chef makes us feel like family every time. Qui, thank you for an amazing omakase experience! If you’re looking for the most delicious exotic fish and great service do yourself a favor and give Kaizen a try!!!

This quaint sushi bar located at the corner of a strip mall is a hidden gem that you're always super excited to have discovered!
My husband and I came here on a Sunday night and had a reservation for outdoor seating. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed tables were socially distant. The first room contained just a few tables and the sushi bar with a second room providing additional seating. We sat outside on their patio area. Our server quickly greeted us and provided us with menus. Everything looked so good, it took us a few minutes to decide what to order.
