I went for the first time with my husband and we loved it. It has a very rustic, classy, and elevated decor that makes you feel like you're the only people in the whole restaurant. The service was absolutely immaculate. I order the chefs tasting menu and sub the first item for the spinach, egg, and artichoke because I don't eat pork. I didn't particularly enjoy that dish but everything else was absolutely mouth watering. The filet mignon was down right delicious. It's everything and more. The fish dish was so good too! The presentation was so stunning. It was like eating with

Visited the Refectory for my anniversary dinner. They left a kind note at the table commemorating the 2 year anniversary. The food was fantastic - it’s in tapas style - the meat and seafood courses are too small to be entrees, but are larger than your ordinary tapas plate. There are 5 course recommendations, but we opted for our own selections. We ordered the Cheese Plate, Lobster Bisque, the Angus Sirloin Steak (x2), and the Lamp Lollipops. Each were wonderful and we will absolutely come back. Our only complaint was the time for service. We sat a little after 7:30pm and we didn’t leave until

My boyfriend and I went for his birthday and had a great time. He got the chefs tasting and I got the vegetarian chefs tasting. Both were great. My favorite was the butternut squash soup. The chef sent out an additional course on the house and we got bread. They brought out an additional dessert for his birthday with a candle too. The ambiance was great, intimate, and romantic. Service was fantastic as well. Very beautiful and spacious restaurant that was an old church! Some of the courses were just okay but I had plenty of food and was satisfied. Next time I will just order an entree. Would definitely

Elegant French restaurant with top notch staff and fantastic ambiance. The food was fantastic and the experience was great. We enjoyed every second of it, soiled ourselves for a night. If I had to be picky it was a little drafty in the area we sat but wouldn't have traded it, old wood beams in the spot that was a old church. The cathedral ceilings and decor looked stunning

The classic French dining experience, that’s been in NW Columbus for years, does not disappoint. Escargot terrine, lobster bisque, Dover sole, lamb chops, pork shank, mocha chocolate terrine, and the pear tart ordered a la carte. All dishes were excellent and my favorites were the pork shank, sole, and the pear tart. Our 4 course a la carte meal for two with 3 beers and 1 glass of wine cost around $280 with tip so plan on spending some $ to try several plates.

We have been going here for over 25 years and like fine wine it has only gotten better over time. We've never had a bad meal and when you want to savor your food and not feel rushed this is the place to go. I love the new tasting menu because I love to have a lot of small portions instead of one big plate. You still leave feeling like you've had the best meal! Everything is plated beautifully and the attention to detail is amazing.

The Refectory is the only fine-dining French restaurant in humble Columbus, Ohio and as such I was eager to try it a second time. The location is stunning - you're in a 200 year old church with charming wood beams and elegant tables. The floors are original and creaky, though some rooms and tables are better than others. You may consider calling ahead and asking for the main dining room.
The menu is highly seasonal and changes daily. You can choose from appetizers (appetizers $15 and seafood/meat about $30), seafood and meat or follow the prix-fix menu for $110/person. We started with splitting

Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We did have an issue with our meal coming out. But they communicated it and gave us free soup while we waited. The food was so flavorful and awesome!! The cocktails are amazing!! Great experience for our 15 year wedding anniversary!! Joe, our waiter was awesome!!

As a French American it is very hard to find authentic French food that satisfies both the tummy and the soul, la Refectory is beyond exceptional C’est magnifique!!! The flavors reminded me of what I would taste in My Mother or Mimi’s Kitchen or something you’d get if you were to travel to central France unfortunately I didn’t have any of the wine as we were celebrating our pregnancy but from the list and the bottle selection from the front they carry an amazing selection. My only critique would be the Crême Brûlée it was a lot lighter and fluffier than I’m used to but still had amazing

A Friday night visit at one of our favorite restaurants, ever. I'm so happy to see the restaurant has emerged from Covid....stronger. It's a great story.
So their menu is different, but the same. I love the small plate concept. Even though portions and prices are reduced, the quality is the same 5*. It gives you the opportunity to try more items. Our four top had 10 different items and we swapped around.
Wine list, spirits, and service are the same 5*.
New Yorkers come to Columbus and marvel at what we have. We should be happy things are the same, but nicely different, at The Refectory

The place is so amazing!
We went there to celebrate our anniversary and really enjoyed it!
Everything about this place is so good. The vibe, the food, the cocktails and their service. It’s so interesting that they change the menu every day, so you have the chance to have a different experience every time.

Had a pre-engagement dinner at The Refectory, and it was well worth the venture.
It's hard to find a place with the atmosphere that matches the food. The dishes are fresh and authentic to French culinary; Andrew our waiter was extremely courteous as well, constantly ensuring we were taken care of (but not in an overbearing way) while providing excellent choices based on current needs. He even offered a complementary glass of wine since it did not fill to the allotted line.
And we can't forget about the busser who constantly exchanged our napkins, as well as cleaned our area for the next dish

The Refectory Restaurant is hands down the best dining experience in Columbus. The restaurant is in an old converted school house and church connected by a long hallway. My boyfriend and I were seated in the best seat in the house (as the host and waiter told us) and we were treated with 5 star service. We decided to go with the tasting menu with wine pairing and I must say it was a dining experience I'll never forget. Perfect portions, delicious wines, incredible tastes.
I recommend coming here on an empty stomach because you will be full behind recognition after eating the best that Columbus

A contemporary restaurant with plenty of memorizing character. Chef Richard Blondin does fantastic job at souring locally grown ingredients and presenting them within a french culinary framework. The building itself has historical significance, which gives a unique dining experience. The food has freshness, character, non-blended tastes within a not so complex patterns and delicacy. The menu changes seasonally and it is recommended that you try out multiple items as they come in small and delicate portions. This can definitely be a unique place for special occasion. I highly recommend this place

Everything about our experience was perfect. The attention to detail in the presentation of food and the hospitality of the owner and the staff were unmatched. Although the portions are smaller (they are intended that way), the flavor and richness of food makes up for it. Really enjoyed the lamb chop, the filet and the scallops. The dessert was exceptional as well! Will definitely be back!

The Refectory Restaurant is offering a take home dinner menu each week during these difficult times. They usually post the menu midday Saturday for the next week. You can order your dinner online and they ask that you do it 24 hrs before the time you need it. After completing your order you will not cash out. They will reach out to you to complete the sale over the phone. If you are paying with a gift card you will actually pay for your meal when you arrive to pick it up. That is how we paid. You choose a time of when you want to pick up the meal, when you arrive in the parking lot you call
