Global Restaurant, a Ballantyne mainstay for almost a decade and an award winning eatery has now relocated to downtown Pineville. The restaurant closed its doors in the Ballantyne Toringdon shopping center area last year, and owners chef Bernard & Shannon Brunet got to work renovating the new space at 314 Main Street.
Global is a family affair. Brunet's wife Shannon is a co-owner and runs the front of the house. Their son Xavier is the third owner. Wether you come for fine dining or bar bites (gourmet burger, mussels), your Global experience will take place in a space with beautiful details and character. On the lower level you'll find a bar and butcher block tables with metal seating.

We decided to try Global for the first time during restaurant week. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were seated right away; however, we waited at least ten minutes to be acknowledged and offered water. Our appetizers arrived hot and were tasty. We then waited at least thirty minutes for our entrees. I ordered the sirloin, which was tough and the worst piece of meat I have ever had in a restaurant. The desserts were just ok. Our waitress was really nice and seemed knowledgeable, but not as attentive as she could have been. She was busy making drinks at the bar. When we were presented

EDITED REVIEW-We keep trying to go back but are constantly turned away now..saying it's a special day only and try again. This is absurd.. I changed my review from a 5 to a 2. Go somewhere else where they appreciate returning customers, especially during COVID.
French trained chef co owns with his wife from the South and it’s a match made in culinary heaven! Sourced locally, seasonal menu and cooked perfectly and with care. Ordered their burger and the flank steak - crazy superb! Think French - Southern fusion with a local inspiration. The place is very clean, artistically modeled with 2 floors

This was our first visit to Global, and overall, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Limited seating in a tastefully and uniquely decorated style; an intriguing combination of modern and traditional, with soft mood lighting. A perfect place for couples.
The menu apparently changes seasonally and is French inspired. The Pear Galette was a marvelous appetizer, my wife (who is very particular about it) really enjoyed the lamb, and my short ribs was tender and delicious, although I found it a bit light on seasoning. IMO a dash more salt & pepper would have really made it amazing.
