This is a takeout review. All food is eaten fresh in the vehicle. I ordered the meatballs and the chicken Parmigiano. The meatballs were OK, tightly packed and tender but not a lot of flavor. The chicken parm was OK also, a large portion but again, not a lot of flavor. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 7.4.

Not big on Italian-American food, but decided to try Marchetti's with a friend on a weekday night. I like how they give out bread and salad along with their traditional homemade dressing. My friend and I ordered a calamari appetizer, where I was able to take some of it home for leftovers. For my entree, I ordered their seafood alfredo with linguini. The portions were HUGE. It was very creamy with a good amount of lobster, scallops, and shrimp. Additionally, the service was fast, friendly, and attentive. I would definitely go back to try other options.

Huge portions, insanely delicious food, and friendly staff. Marchetti's is a fantastic spot and versatile enough for a family dinner or a date night! We love the Chicken Marsala, chicken parm, and their yummy house salad.

The food here is always fantastic, with portions that ensure you're going to have lunch the next day. Their gravy (red sauce) nothing short of delicious.
That said, this restaurant operates on "pre pandemic" logic. No separators between tables, no mask requirements (I was literally the only patron masked in the room), and very little distance between tables. Because of this, I'm knocking off two stars.
Get the take out, though, because their food is delightful

Our waiter David was excellent, helpful and was quick to serve our orders. We appreciated his commentary as well as his willingness to assist with menu choices. He was attentive, but not excessively around to make our visit un 'family-like'. We were all extremely filled by our orders, and we all left with leftovers and full stomachs.
We recommend, and plan to return another time.
Get the reservation, as this is a hot spot to visit, when you find yourself in the area.

Arrived +/-6pm, Wait time with no reservation 10min!
Waiter awesome
Food amazing
Serving size - each plate - More than enough for 2 people!
Most plates a little up there but worth it, serving sizes are insane, but also has kids menu and other more affordable plates
And OMG the size of the margarita!! 🍻😁
Going back again 👍

A lot Of food! my wife and I ordered meatball that I recommend, salad and 1 pasta dish. The pasta was watery and it was not Al dente. If you want to eat a lot that’s the place you should go but for me is more American than Italian. A good thing is that the prices are fair.

If you want a big delicious meal go here! They’ve been around awhile and keep the place packed. Make a reservation and enjoy! The calamari ala mama is the best! Perfectly cooked! One of the Top Italian restaurants in Rhode Island in my book!

Another great trip to Marchetti's! The amazing service to the variety of Italian fare is worth driving by Federal Hill and heading into Cranston! Tonight we had the Lasagna and the Seafood Marinara. The servings are so large you may want to ask for a box! The best part of Marchettis is the homemade gravy offered, along with the tremendous prices. If you have not tried this wonderful restaurant, please give it a try. You will not be sorry!

Always a good choice. Classic Italian food. Intimate but family style dining. Great for a date night, better with family and friends. Portions are great, food is good and consistent, staff is friendly and attentive. Beer selection is mediocre but cocktails are stiff and almost always come with a side car.
We love this place. Come early or place reservations because it packs up quick!

If you like big portions, this is your "go to" restaurant. My personal preference is quality vs quantity
Portion size obnoxiously huge. Quality a "big meh" at best. A lot of volume and NOTHING stood out. Not even the bread.
My dog will be happy with all the leftover containers I took home, that no one wanted.
Sorry, Marchetti's. We won't be back.

They say you can't come to Cranston without trying marchettis. So that was our first stop in Rhode Island. The portion sizes are huge here! To start, they bring over a huge family style garden salad, dressed in their famous dressing. It was absolutely delicious! The bread was fresh and warm with delicious oil for dipping. I'm not a fan of Italian food, but the chicken was absolutely delicious! The mashed and the Brussel sprouts were charred and good. The seafood Alfredo however had a bit of everything. Again, another huge plate. Filled with crab, lobster, shrimp, and scallops. My people

This is one of my favorite restaurants that i've been visiting for years. There is always a wait even with reservations and it is well worth it! I lived in Boston and this place beats a lot of the North End spots out of the water. Some of my favorite dishes are the calamari, seafood alfredo, and the chicken milanese (when I used to eat meat but i'm sure it's still phenomenal). Don't get me started on the bread, it's like crack or what I imagine crack would be like. I come here often for date night and family gatherings- my whole family loves it here. Be prepared to box

There are no words to explain how unpleasant, rude and disrespectful the hostess at this restaurant was. The food is mediocre and she clearly just hates her life. She gives looks of disgusts and won't even acknowledge you're there.

I would rather eat at McDonalds then to ever deal with the that horrible woman again.

Always a classic spot! Great food! Great portions! Great prices! Don't come here often enough but when I do I absolutely enjoy this place. Love their chicken dishes as well as their seafood dishes. Can't go wrong with their baked stuffed shrimp either. I'll be back here in another year or two. Ooo I even have left overs to look forward to. Well worth it!

This place is absolutely phenomenal. The service is great. The food is so tasty. Their portions are very generous. This restaurant is always a go to for my family. I took my dad out to dinner for his birthday. The calamari was wicked good. I got the chicken parm with Alfredo. They make their own Alfredo sauce here and you should absolutely try it. By far, the best Alfredo I have ever had.

I would have given this place 5 stars, but I feel as though they don't pay much attention when making the food. I DO NOT like red sauce one bit. I reiterated this to my waitress. I told her that I hated

Went for Mother's Day- great food as always but they usually have a gluten-friendly options and they did not this time. I should have asked before I actually arrived at the restaurant. The only weird thing was when I asked the waitress if they had gluten-free pasta options (just in case, sometimes restaurants let you know about their gluten-sensitive option only if you ask) and she didn't know what gluten-free meant. I thought that that was odd for a person working in the restaurant industry to not know what that meant- I felt kind of stupid explaining it to her and ended up just quickly

You won't leave hungry. Marchetti's is famous in RI and for good reason. This off Federal Hill Italian restaurant offers up good food, and plenty of it, at very fair prices. Portions are BIG. Big prepared to take home left overs. It's not a fancy place per say but perfect for a date night or dinner with the family. Make reservations and enjoy!

THIS IS THE LOCAL 'GO TO' FOR ITALIAN FOOD! That spot tourists would seek from local residents when looking to enjoy the best meal around! Anyone that lives anywhere near Cranston, anyone that lives in RI for that matter KNOWS Marchettis has the BEST dishes, all around. The red pasta sauce/gravy can't be beat- not too many spices (but not bland), not sweet, not chunky- PERFECT! Which makes any Italian sauce dish a winner, chicken parm is for sure the standout dish in our family. Even after 30 years, and hundreds of orders- we still get the chicken parm every single time. Huge portions

Ok so... I wanted so badly to like this place after all the people who rave about it.
I unfortunately did not like the food as much as everyone said I would.
I've most definitely had better Italian food.
The calamari wasn't bad. I liked the "sauce" it was in but it also ended up making it super soggy.
My boyfriend had gotten ravioli and meatballs which were probably some of the worst I've ever had tbh.
I hate saying that.
The sauce tasted like tomato soup and even I bit into the ravioli AND meatball it tasted unseasoned and store bought. I don't know if that is the

I was told by a friend to come here and I did... I was pretty disappointed with the food, but I will say the waiter Dave was awesome! He was very much on top of things, with a great attitude, and a good sense of humor. Food just didn't have any taste to it and honestly what I've always heard about this place was how the portions of the food were huge, but if the food is just blah, then you having a ton of food to take home doesn't really matter. I will try this place out again, but if it wasn't for the great service I wouldn't think about coming here again, especially with

I have always liked Marchetti's restaurant. However last night was a disappointment. Started with a glass of Chianti, which was good. My waiter, pleasant, asked if we would like salad, which I thought was a great idea to check, as many times it goes to waste, when it's automatically delivered to the table. We also received bread and warm spiced oil, which was delicious. We ordered calamari, alla mama, but held off ordering our entrees, so we would have time to finish the salad, and appetizer. Twice the waiter asked if we were ready to order and twice I told him I wanted to wait, so I

Amazing ambiance, great service, jumbo portions. Meatball was the size of a baseball, hand rolled and full of flavor. Veal Parmesan was fork tender, just the right amount of cheese and red gravy ( not tomato sauce) was fantastic. Our server was fantastic attending to our every need. She was polite yet reachable, smiling all the time. I loved the experience and will definitely return again and again. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. If you are looking for authentic Italian food with great service at a fabulously low price point, MARCHETTIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. Hope to see you there

This is absolutely the best restaurant in Rhode Island. Variety of foods and on each visit i try something new and they never failed to impress. The portions are huge and the price is overall fair, most importantly not expensive.
Now actually arguing with myself if this is the best restaurant i ever ate in the US.
Update 4/23/19: still amazing. We keep trying different dishes and they all come as a tease to the palates, super super delicious.
Update: 4/27/2019 still great

My first experience at Marchetti's and will definitely be back. The food was really good and service was great! My only complaint is the vibe and setup of the restaurant feels more like a sports bar/restaurant with TVs all over the main dining area. I realize it's not a "fine dining" establishment but just feel as though the TVs aren't necessary. Purely in my opinion though.
I ordered fettuccine Alfredo and my fiancé had the veal parm. Both were huge portions and needed carry out containers. Dinner was accompanied with bread and olive oil along with salads. We split a
