This restaurant offers visually aesthetic dishes that lack quality and any level of developed flavor profiles. The Three Time Lady Roll literally tasted like body odor. The Hot Lips appetizer was a highly unusual combination of poor quality ingredients. Jack Tone roll was OK at best.

The food is always amazing.
We got the Hawaiian roll (topped with chicken katsu) and Hearts on Fire roll. (actually really isn't that spicy) I highly recommend these. The sesame chicken was also very delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Our drink were refilled without asking. The only thing was when the bill came we felt rushed as we were still eating. Other than that our visit was pleasant.

This place is great. Excellent food and service. We have eaten here twice and have been very happy. Their tempura is cooked perfect. It's funny but I really enjoy the dressing on their basic salad. If you get in the mood for authentic Japanese food I would definitely try this place. The Yaki Ramen was loaded with shrimp, chicken and beef.

My dad got the fire fire roll and the roll supposedly was the spiciest roll there my dad said that the roll wasn't spicy at all.my dad also got the spicy tuna hand roll and he asked for extra spicy and I was not spicy at all.
I got the 49ers roll the roll tasted like a California roll but with tuna.The 49ers roll wasn't good like we thought it was going to be.Over all the food was not the best I've had I would recommend going to Kango in Tracy Cal

Terrible customer service!
I was trying to pay with my watch but couldn't get the device to read it. The lady grabbed my hand and pulled it over to touch the screen. I was shocked!
What was she thinking? First off, it's COVID time, no touchy touching. Secondly would you let a stranger grab and pull your hand? I was all embarrassed cuz some other customers turned and looked as she mumbled during the act as well. Unbelievable!
The food is just okay.

Very delicious. The staff were very nice and the service was was very fast. There is like 50+ options of rolls not to mention all the other items. One waiter seemed a little nervous but I am guessing he is newer and is a little bit nervous around people. He was very sweet. It is good to get out of your comfort zone sometimes

It's a great small restaurant to eat at. The sushi is my favorite. All the sushi I have eaten there has been pretty good. You can actually watch them make your sushi. It's delicious and freshly made everyday. The green tea is super yummy. I also enjoy there edamames. There Bento box is another favorite of mine. You get to choose 2 items. I usually get the salmon and the chicken. It comes with salad, veggies, 2 slices of oranges and rice.

We tried this place out today for dinner. We got there a little early so we would miss the dinner rush 445-5pm. They have very delicious rolls. We got 4 rolls. The sunset, three ladies (I think I have the name wrong), lion king and another spicy roll. I like that they have a variety of food so if you don't really like sushi you can have other delicious food like chicken Katsu. It has indoor and outdoor seating available. We saw that a lot of people were getting take out. The waitress was very quick and friendly. The rolls were a little pricey but it's worth it because they are bigger

Definitely my favorite sushi stop in the area. Went there yesterday for the 1st time in a while. The menu is extensive & the pictures really help with your order. I've tried many menu items and have never been disappointed. The sushi choices are all good and plentiful. The service is always good and helpful. Now that things are opening up a bit, I look forward to coming here more frequently. I really like the seared albacore appetizer and you can't go wrong with spicy edamame. I tried the fire-fire and Hawaiian rolls yesterday. Were tasty. Always great to support a local business.

Service is prompt and courteous. The fish is fresh, and sushi expertly crafted. Best sushi within 100 miles, (which I can say after living in Hawaii for 3 years)! Family-run place that always gets your order right. We've been regularly eating here for a couple years and it's the best around! Look forward to more!

This place is great. Busy and chaotic at time, but the good is great. Have had rolls, teriyaki, tempera, etc. all very good. They had a vast menu.
The atmosphere can be noisy and the cooks and wait staff are busting it most of the time especially at peak hours. BUT, you keep coming back to the food...outstanding.
Not the place for a quiet dinner or intimate or romantic date. But if you love this kind of food, this is the place!

Service has always been so so but tonight just turned me away. After ordering dinner we waited over an hour a half for our food (2 sushi rolls and a kids meal) 3 tables were seated after us and go mt their food. I asked how much longer. 15 mins goes by and we finally get part of our order. Kids meal and one roll. I go up and ask again how much longer for our other roll. I had to eat dinner without my family due to my 1.5 year old daughter over sitting for an hour and a half. I don't know if they just completely forgot or what. Then to top all that off my daughters chicken wasn't cooked

So many options of sushi!! And many other options too. I enjoyed their hot lips entree and I had gotten the philly roll and a veggie roll.
But so many speciality rolls that look amazing!! The customer service is very fast as well.
They do have indoor dinning and also tables set up for outside dining as well.
Can't wait to go back and try some other stuff! Highly recommend.

This is a great spot for a quick bit of sushi. I loved the pre-COVID dine-in experience that you always want with good sushi, but they've been doing their best to accommodate during these times. They have a variety of rolls that suit just about any taste, and the price points are about what you expect.
The sushi always tastes fresh and is well-portioned. I also recommend trying the stuffed jalapeño appetizer. It's maybe my favorite item at Masumi, even with some of my more favorite rolls.

Craving sushi and First time here (Father's Day) got take out for my family and we were pleasantly surprised. Haven't eaten sushi since moving here from bay area 4 years ago because nervous and were snobs when comes to sushi lol. Decided to give it try hey why not ....This review is for rolls only. We didn't get sashimi plates this time. We searched for places on yelp in Manteca and Lathrop and decided on here. The rolls all tasted amazingly fresh and presented nicely. People working were friendly and surprisingly very busy inside when I picked up order even with the covid going

Really a wonderful dining experience, we arrived with a few people in front us and several to-go orders were being taken home. We were seated with only a few minutes wait. Each person of our group had something different- each meal was tasty. The menu was a Book! So many selections.
I had a Bento box with hot miso soup to start, followed by a crisp salad with a garlicky wonderful dressing. We had two appetizers: beef wrapped asparagus (crisp and fresh), tempura shrimp; both were enough to share - and very good.
The rolls that were delivered around us looked great and all were beautiful- I think

This was a very good sushi spot. One of the better ones in the Central Valley forsure.
The service was great and everything came out in a timely manner.
It was two of us and we started off with some miso soups which were very delicious. We ordered a roll and hand roll each. I ordered a spicy tuna hand roll which was a typical size and very delicious. I also ordered the red dragon roll which did not disappoint. The other roll was also delicious but I forgot what it was called but I did take a picture of it so if it looks good feel free to try it out.

We are out of towners and wanted to eat with family from the area. We were happy to find out that Masumi allowed us to reserve a table for 10 on a Saturday, the day of our dinner. When we arrived, they were welcoming and already had our table ready for us. Upon sitting down, the waitress were attentive and provided us tea upon requesting.
From looking at the sushi and what people were ordering, we decided to take the safe route and ordered mostly non-raw Japanese food. We appreciative of the selection along with the photos on the menu. The prices are average.
