Services
Even though you could take your child to a general dentist, choosing one who specializes in children's dentistry is a wise choice. There are aspects of the growth and development of children's teeth and certain conditions that a pediatric dentist will notice that may slip by a general dentist. Here at The Pediatric Dental Team, we offer comprehensive dental care for kids of all ages, from infancy up to adulthood and all levels of ability.
We provide all the information you need to feel confident that your child's dental care is in good hands. Browse our website to learn more about The Pediatric Dental Team, and discover why more South Philadelphia parents are bringing their children to us for dental care. Your child's comfort and oral health are our focus.
Welcome to The Pediatric Dental Team, where your child's optimal oral health is one of our primary goals. We provide dental services for children of all ages up to adulthood. In keeping with the guidelines set forth by The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), The American Dental Association (ADA) and The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), our office recommends all children see a pediatric dentist by their first birthday.
We understand that when it comes to doctors appointments, insurance and out of pocket costs have the potential to be a stressor for parents. Prior to your visit, we will ask some insurance related questions. We work hard to make sure finances never get in the way of great dental treatment, and you may be surprised to see how affordable essential care can be!
Pediatric Dentistry is a dental specialty that focuses on the unique oral health needs of infants, children and teenagers. Education for a pediatric dentist includes an additional two years of rigorous training after dental school. Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of the dental world. Pediatric dentists treat children from infancy to 19 years of age.

Absolutely horrific experience. Avoid this practice at all costs, Dr. John retiring left this place in absolute shambles they will hire anyone and don’t care how these dentists interact with the children. My 6 year old developed an extreme fear of dentists because of how they treated her during her last exam. After showing some initial signs of anxiety/being nervous (wiggling in the chair and verbally saying she was scared) instead of my child being comforted or someone coming to get a parent my child was threatened by the dentist. She was told to sit still and be quiet or the dentist was going

We absolutely love everything and everyone at the office, and the renovations are coming along beautifully, the open concept makes it feel homely & comfortable... Pat at the front is such a sweetheart & super helpful... it'll be a sad day when our son is to old & needs to see an "adult" dentist, good thing we have YEARS till that day lol ... if you're looking for a great pediatric dentist this is the place ...

Completely horrible NOW this office needs to tell Dr John’s patients that he is no longer at this office because I would have not went back if I knew.
I took my son back for rescheduled appointment after everything reopened from Covid being closed last yr which took over a month for some one to even call me back to even make the appointment and another month to been seen and I was never told Dr John was no longer there. And instead of picking up where we left at our last appointment. It was just a cleaning when I made the appointment I told whoever I spoke to what needed to be done and when

Took my 1.5 yo there today and everyone was nice and friendly. My son is on the spectrum as I explained to the dental assistant who relayed that message to the dentist. We stayed in the tiny X-ray room where the dentist patiently and gently examined, and cleaned my son's teeth. My little guy did better than I expected Dr. Blake is excellent at what he does! I highly highly recommend this place for all kids, but especially the ones who need a little more care.

Coming to this office is a little difficult. I miss Dr. John and his team. However, it’s always nice to see a familiar face. PAT!!!!. Pat has always been friendly and made you feel welcomed. Pat ALWAYS REASSURED THAT EVERYTHING WOULD BE OK WHEN IT CAME TO KIDS FROM A Simple cleaning to extractions. A smile is always good to see. That’s how pat greets you💯💯💯

My family has previously loved this dental office. My daughter looks forward to going to the dentist because of how great these dentists have been with her. Unfortunately, whoever runs the business side of the office has obliterated my trust and I'll never be taking my daughter back. Their COVID-19 precautions are NOT ACCEPTABLE. This morning my… daughter and I were crammed into a small waiting room with at least 30 other people. Their staff didn't always keep their masks on properly and they were running way behind schedule (as usual, which under normal circumstances I don't mind), so we

My child has been a patient of Dr.John for over 14 years. Unfortunately Dr. John has RETIRED and sold the business to new owners. After my child’s 6 month checkup in June that was postponed by them due to Covid. The office manager stated that he is 16 and they no longer treat children his age. They found 3 cavities at this visit and stated that 2… were bad! After they explained this I said that it seems that it would be best if his treatment was finished here prior to finding an adult dentist. Again I was told by the office manager at 16 years of age he was to old to be treated by

I love this dentist office! My daughter has high anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist and the nurse and doctor who worked on her yesterday were so understanding and patient with her. I am so thankful that they made her experience yesterday less traumatic. Great office and great staff wouldn’t take my kids anywhere else.
