This place is absolutely horrible.they gave horrible care to my dad when he was there, they never came when he paged for them and needed help, and when they did come they said they would be right back and then never come back..the staff is rude, drs included. This place needs a better staff, the nurses and doctors do not care about there patients and rather let them die.they took my dads breathing tube out and left the hole open with no bandaid and he had to find his own, they have no care for anyones loved ones.DO NOT SEND ANY OF YOUR LOVED ONES HERE.

I would not recommend this facility for your loved one. The place had a strong smell throughout the building . They had our sister on a broken bed the brakes did lock and bed frame was broken. They were slow to respond to lights. The staff had a horrible attitude. If I could give a lower rating I would!

My family member used this facility a few years ago and the care was great! Exceptional actually!
But this time around? The whole place was horrible! It seemed “dirty”, the staff was inattentive, the care was just terrible. The most caring nurse was probably the oldest nurse there. I would not recommend Catalina to anyone.

Spent three weeks at this facility with a client of mine, and had a very bad experience. CNAS have extremely poor attitudes and are lazy. Call lights being left on for 30-45 mins just to get some attention. Seems understaffed and the few employees they do have don't seem to have a care in the world. As an equal to these employees it's really sad to see the way I was treated by multiple workers of this company. I couldn't imagine the way they care about a patient. Disgustingly sad.

As Sue's husband, there are no adequate words or expressions to express my gratitude & appreciation to admissions, the staff, & the therapists. Everyone has been 100% "above & beyond the call of duty," during her care.....especially because we don't live in the metro Tucson area. I realize - nothing's perfect - but I can't recommend this facility high enough.

Terrible.
The case worker here does not know her job or responsibilities.
My sister requested many times to keep me informed of her health and progress and the case worker refused, without a valid reason. She even failed to show up to meet with us twice.
The Administrator is an expert at passing the buck. You won't get any help from him either.
The front doors are just left open most of the time and anyone from the street could just walk into the facility. The reception desk is usually unoccupied.
Some of the hallways smell of urine.
They tell you all the rooms have windows, but they dont

My grandmother was at Catalina after suffering from a stroke. She was sent to receive physical and occupational therapy. All staff especially therapy were great. They really pushed my grandmother and got her as strong as they good.

My mom stayed here after a stroke, the staff caring for her was amazing. It was a difficult time during COVID but the staff made sure my dad was always set up to visit with her safely under the not so great circumstances. When it came time for her to move to a longer term facility, Shelly the SS Director went out of her way to connect my dad with the resources needed to make some difficult decisions for her placement. She took the extra time to assist my dad with the Altcs application, which was very complicated for him. Without her caring assistance I don't know where my mom would be today. Because

My husband was sent to Catalina from Banner Hospital in August 2020 and the facility doctor was a Banner hospitist so we felt the level of care would flow nicely. Since I was not allowed to visit inside I did window visit everyday with him and was highly impressed with the care we saw he was getting and therapy getting him strong enough to go back home. The nursing staff was very friendly and always answer any questions we had. Shelly arranged transfer, feeding and care training for me so we would not fail at home. Would recommend this facility to anyone it is Exceptional!

If you love your family member, this is NOT the place for them. In my opinion, Catalina has no interest in rehabilitation , only keeping beds full. Through neglect and incompetence, they nearly killed my husband twice by not noticing or acknowledging that he needed emergency medical care. He was put in a bed that was too small for him and fell out and broke his nose. I was told by a worker that he had fallen out before, and I was never notified. The only way I knew about that incident was that he needed to go to Banner for observation because he hit his head and was bleeding. On another occasion

My mom had a fall and had to have her ankle replaced. After surgery the doctor recommended she go to a rehabilitation facility, because she had to be completely off her foot for 6 weeks. I was given a list from the hospital that I had to pick a place for and was given less then 24 hours. I took the list and researched as best as possible. I (unfortunately) chose Catalina Care. I was not able to meet my mom there, understandably due to COVID. I had to have an appointment to see her. I called and spoke with Ethan and he's scheduled my appointments for the week.
When I arrived for my first visit

By far the worst place to send love ones for care. The amount of neglect my grandmother received from this facility is unreal. Majority of the techs/nurses made her feel like she was a burden and made her feel very uncomfortable. One of the nights there my grandmother had a small accident and the night tech told her she wasn't going to change her since " it's always one thing after other." They left her like that for 6+ hours which caused her to get bed sores/rash. It's pretty heart breaking that my grandmother had to call crying to the family saying how uncomfortable

There is only one reason why this review is going to be two stars, so I will begin with that... the staff is extremely nice. Sadly, an individual's kindness, does not equate to their competency.

When you walk in to one of the rooms with you sick loved one, you feel like you are walking into a monastery. The walls are so dark, and there is hardly any light, there is no color, no decoration... you are sitting there wondering horrified that your loved one is going to be stuck staring at these walls for weeks and just imagine the patients turning into cave dwellers. What happens next shows

Spent a week there after my stroke and 3 days at ST Mary's.
Pros:
Great PT and OT staff, friendly, competent, professional, always a smile and treating the patients with respect.
Nursing care was excellent as well.
Cleaning staff worked to keep the rooms clean.

Cons:
Limited focus on healing environment.

Food was barely edible, hot food mostly cold, really unsafe, often couldn't tell what i was eating, they offer extra items on the menu, just check them off, yet don't provide little pencils, so that is a fail. The time i did order other items, not fullfilled.

Erratic staff performance

Please pay attention to all the one star reviews!
The staff is the UN-friendliest group of people I've run across in my life! They must have just received a cut in pay or something. They obviously don't like working there. They categorically avoid eye-contact and almost NEVER return a 'Good Morning' beginning with the female at the front desk who I had to interrupt from her game of Solitaire to ask directions to a patient's room, and it obviously angered her. A few of the staff were helpful but the rest couldn't care less and were not at all friendly. The 'Place

My sister suffered a serious illness and had emergency surgery. After being hospitalized she went to Catalina Healthcare for a month. She was bedridden when she got there but with their excellent nursing care and rehab services she is ready to walk out! I can highly recommend this place.

My husband was in here for 3 weeks for rehab after open heart surgery. When they brought him here the first evening, it was all I could d to leave him. It seemed dark, dreary and dingy looking and looked to be in a bad neighborhood. The next morning, I realized how lovely and friendly it was. Great, great people. My husband said the food was good and there were options to have something different if you wanted. Everyone was so helpful and kind...everyone! They truly cared about him. They were encouraging and kind. When we left yesterday, it was almost like leaving Family. I would highly recommend

Worst place to bring your loved one!
My mother was there for two weeks. It was awful. Staff for most part are uncaring and incompetent. Our family brought in Clorox wipes just to clean the immediate area my mom was in. I did open a grievance with the Az State licensing to have them investigated.

DO NOT send your loved ones here!! This place is awful!! My grandma suffered a massive stroke, was sent here for "rehab". She was neglected. Wouldn't get checked on for hours. My family was always there.. That's how we know no one would check on her. The CNAs/nurses weren't nice... I understand being understaffed but if you don't like your job, taking care of sick people, go work somewhere else. I HATE this place and if I could, I wouldn't even give it a star..

This place is a hell hole for sure. The physical therapists are bottom of the barrel. They dropped my dad once and made a joke of it, then let him fall out of bed as no rails on it. Made another joke of it. My father is walking now because I got him out of that horrid place.Do not let your loved ones go here.

Only rehab center with an anti-gravity treadmill. She loves to use it! Therapy has been great and thorough. Admin staff pleasant and very helpful.

I met her occupational, speech, and physical therapists. each one has been very caring and professional. And seem to genuinely have a vested interest in her rehabilitation. The building appearances are very deceiving.

Everyone has been so good to my loved one. Thank you to all the therapists!

My grandmother spent several months here so I hope this review can provide some useful information about this place.

From the beginning to the end, they were very accommodating to not only her needs, but the entire family's needs. They always made sure my grandmother was as comfortable as possible while at the same time making sure we were kept in the loop as to everything that was going on. If we had a question, it would definitely be answered in a timely manner.

Most people are friendly, from the front desk to the nurses, and from the doctors to the administrators. They make sure that
