I went to the Loc Den for a simple retwist because there were a couple dreads I had in the back that were kind of thick and hard to twist. I paid 88 dollars for my once locked dreads to be completely messed up and I’m back starting at square 1 with my hair. My hair honestly looked better coming into the shop than leaving please heed this warning. DO NOT go to the loc den.

Customer service is horrible. I stood at the reception desk for at least 5 minutes and no one greeted me. I had to say something to one of the stylist instead. They are very unorganized and inconsistent. I try really hard to support black businesses but we have to step it up and learn how to conduct BUSINESS. This shop will not be around long if management doesn’t put 100% into customer satisfaction and business management ;Kaitlin is a gem though, thank you 😊 .

Kaitlin and Latasha did a phenomenal job on my hair! Kaitlin did excellent in explaining the color process and pros and cons of coloring. Her use of hair care quality and safety was top tier. She did that! And s/o to Latasha for helping with my style. Although I didn’t it could be done, they worked together to create a bomb style and I love it! Thanks ladies!

Deposit was $500, The day before her appt I wanted to cancel and was told that I would not be able to get my $500 deposit back if I canceled. My daughter hair
was consulted the price $1160 the day I paid the $500. When I brought my daughter to get her extensions the price went up to $1275. My daughter got her hair locked one month before school started to be exact she lost 2 locs before school. She has even lost locs while at school up to now she has lost a total of 10 loc extensions they're thinning and coming out when she's putting her hair up. I texted the owner/manager to inform her of my dissatisfaction with the service I received from one of her stylists. She sent a few messages claiming she would get me rescheduled with my preferred stylist. However, when I texted her back with the times I would be available to redo my hair she never texted me back. I will never go back to them again!!! I hate to do that because there is a stylist there that I really would like to continue my loc journey with but I can’t stand poor customer service. If you have a problem or complaint with them beware it may not get solved 🤦🏾♀️

I had Demetria. Let me start off by saying she was on point with everything. Custmer service how clean and gentle she was with my hair. I love this shop. I highly recommend it to any one that is in need of loc start up or retwist. Positive vibes and good energy is what you are going to feel and you are going to love your hair. Simply wanted my hair to have added extensions, was quoted at $670 by the owner when I first came in for a consult. We did one appointment, scheduled the next appointment, I show up to the appointment and was informed that my appointment was canceled claiming the owner had an emergency. Rescheduled my appointment at a totally different location where there was no A/C into working, had someone else do my hair who didn’t consult me, all for her to do the same services the owner provided two weeks earlier. After trying two local stylists over the past 3 years for my 10 yo I was not impressed at all. Today we went to The Loc Den 2 location and loved it. The staff was kind, courteous, attentive and did exactly the service I expected and for an exceptionally reasonable price. The atmosphere was inviting and VERY clean. I don't write negative reviews typically, but I had to write this so it doesn't happen to someone else. My hair has been pulled out all along my edges. I have a bald spot on the side of my hair line now. I have straight hair, she put my hair in rubber bands that were too tight and sent me home because we ran out of time. I looked absolutely crazy but that's fine.. what is not fine is now I have a bunch of strands of hair in my locs that have the hair follicles attached to the ends from being pulled out, and I have no edges and a bald spot.

The owner and her mom has a nasty attitude, treat you like you are getting a free service, we are paying customers. Unprofessional, rude, an army of children running up and down the place, she has a special section at the back, almost like she is screening customers and decides who can book appointments with her, be prepared to pay double the amount,for all her trash talking on her phone . The ignorant owner is disrespectful and do not know how to treat the customers. If you walk up to someone and just start speaking rudely you will get it back in return. TIP TO OWNER--- Please get the hot water fixed in the shop, take an etiquette class on how to treat customers, and do not let 10 kids run around the shop while people are trying to get their hair styled. Bad business practice. Oh and petty responses is not a good business practice either. As far as the owner commenting that people who review the shop are haters because they don't own businesses. Yolanda was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend her for locs! Not only did she get my son in last minute but her work is exceptional! Neat attention to detail and very personable! My son was extremely happy and ready for his birthday! Very talented girl I couldn't be more satisfied and happy! Anytime I'm in Houston we will be seeing her! You won't be disappointed!

I would've preferred to leave ZERO STARS, that's what it should be. I had two appointments scheduled for Sunday March 24, 2019, (5:40 & 8:30) appointments were confirmed. I went here as a recommendation from a family member. Loved the convenience of it being near home. Also enjoyed the 'salon talk' but business there is a bit questionable. One day I drove there for a interlocking appointment only to be told my stylist was at a doctor appointment.... okay. No call or cancellation. Another thing is that since my hair is interlocked service is charged by the hour. I only want to pay for two hours...three hours max. Ive been having locs for years and its never taken more than three hours to retie...well WOWZERS! in the 2 to 3 hour block I paid for my head

I spoke with someone from loc den today around 30 minutes ago . I made an appointment to get my daughter hair done for a new starter loc with comb coils . The caller asked me to send a picture of my daughters hair and I told her that I only had a picture of a puff - which was in a stretched style. The caller first told me that she couldn't confirm my appointment because she didn't know the texture of my daughters hair . These ladies are all good! You cannot go wrong with any of them. I took my daughter and watched people come in and out with long, neat, full, "beautiful" locs. Kids adults men women. I feel pride in their shop. Nice music, clean, organized, in and out the chair. These ladies start on time!!! I thought I had to go to famous loctician but after comparing my locs and the work of these ladies, I decided to give them a try. I am so happy!! My stuff is neat, soft, lots of body! Do not go to this loctician for services. I guarantee she will make you wait at least 4 hours before even attempting to begin your hair. Also she is very unprofessional and will probably text you later arguing about how she is "very professional." Save your money people. Read the comments below and take caution. SMH in all my years of going to stylists, she was by far theeeeee worst.

I left my previous review 3 days ago, and today the owner of the Loc Den called me. No joke, the only words I got out were "okay" twice. She was clearly upset about the review I left and continuously said that if I would have worked with her then blah blah and that she has several satisfied customers and blah blah. Once I saw that this was an angry monologue and NOT a conversation (and let's be real, I had a bad experience, I left a bad review, and I am gone now. WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME??) I hung up. I don't owe her anything, and Sunday (today) is the Lord's day
