In 1998, Karen McDonald, along with her partner Cathy Kelly, set about creating a space which showcased a tiny hair studio with three chairs that provided the West Portal community an alternative to a downtown salon. For 14 years, Studio Redz thrived until it was lost to a neighborhood fire in October of 2012.
After working with Kelli Simmons at Face to Face Salon for 5 years, Karen eventually decided to relocate, and Studio Redz was reborn into a beautiful new space in the heart of San Francisco's charming West Portal Village. Wedding Styles/Makeup: We have stylists that specialize in making you look amazing! A consultation and trial are required and offsite travel fees will be applied. Please call or message us to set up a consultation and speak to one of our wedding specialists. Prices will vary due to the length and density of hair, the amount of time and technique used, and the amount of product needed.
Bay area born and raised, Jess has always had a passion for vivid colors, trendy makeup, and edgy cuts. Growing up in the small beach town of Pacifica, she was consistently the "go-to" hairstylist and makeup artist with her friends, practicing her skills at a young age before deciding to pursue her dream career as a salon artist.
Sarah is a stylist and colorist and possesses extensive expertise in blonding, balayage and extensions. She loves inspiring her guests to make themselves feel beautiful every day by teaching quick, realistic tips to create a unique "hair program", allowing her guests the ability to recreate their beautiful looks at home.
